just finished coming up with lyrics and recorded the scratch vocal tracks.
when my voice gets better im going to record vocals.
or if anyone wants to try that would be cool too

lyrics-
hidden in the depths of hell
his sanitys domain
the antichrists wrath awaits
unknown to the whores
of content
humanities end lays dormant
the dawn of old days has begun
in his hands
the serpaints coil
the children of darkness bow with bening
my soul is yours
save me
From this hell

What I'm doing at the moment

-Starting a death/thrash band (on drums)

-Continuing keyboards, sampling, and writing (very small amounts of) guitars for an online black/death metal project

-Making Wintermute, as always

-Making a one-man raw black metal album (it's written but not recorded "properly")

-Drumming in a funk band

I just made a black metal song for fun and to train myself on mixing/mastering a little bit.
I'm pretty happy with the result.

Yessssssss. So looking forward to it, man.

I just recorded vocals for a new Batsheva song; throat is scratchy. (I know I'm doing something wrong, but I also don't do this that often, thankfully.)

Gonna try and write & record some this weekend ... been listening to a lot of new music, so I hope that it'll provide a few fresh perspectives.

Gloaming album nearly finished! One more song needs bass and lead guitar, and I'm currently mixing all of the other tracks. Hopefully everything will be ready for release next week.

The Unlife demo is basically finished, just lacking vocals. Waiting until I have some spare time to sit down alone and do them.
In the meantime, however, I have made this! (sub-par Swedish Death Metal with a very Kerry King-esque solo and also lacking vocals!)

2 layers of guitars with the HM-2, 2 layers without. Thinking of maybe churning out a demo or an EP with this.
I know, the compression is awful, but I have to record it while it's playing through the stereo mix on my computer. I really just need to buy a Mixcraft registration already..

Loving that Unlife, that's some good shit you really should.

suprema thank you! I'm glad you dig it, I have tracks but couldn't fit them on my jump drive with the other shit I was bringing home. so you'll have that soon.

over yest and today went on a finished the tracking of the ange de la mort album. still some odds and ends let to add that I want and I'll start writing lyrics tonight for it.

Also did all the vocals for A Wall's debut full length. 23 tracks. I'm currently mixing that down and the osdm stuff has been completely mixed and I'm putting the layout together right now.

That Blacksoul Seraphim isn't my thing at all but its very competently executed, I dig the drumming a lot. Sounds nice too, clarity without too much glitter.

Unlife, that Exenterate however is totally my thing and it is good shit. I like the drum sound and the overall pacing of the song.

HPGD has set April 7th to be the release date for Oshiego's third full-length, I'll make a separate topic with all the details once they've given them to us but I am totally stoked. Very proud of the artwork (courtesy of this manslut SLK, the production, the performances and basically everything, so I can't wait to release it.

Just finished rendering the last master track for the Gloaming album! I still have a couple tweaks to do with the artwork, but since I wasn't sure exactly how fast a guest guitarist was going to hammer out a solo for a song I set the release date for next Monday the 16th. I'll stick with that date as that gives me a week to try to promote this thing and get people eager to check it out once it actually comes out.

Also gives me time to place a Kunaki order sooner - this time I'm gonna hold off on offering CD's for sale from the Bandcamp page until I've actually got some discs in hand to look at. There was nothing wrong with the Coma Void CD's but I realized later that it was probably pretty risky to start shipping CD's out to customers before mine had actually arrived, y'know? Anyway the CD's will go up for sale on the Bandcamp as soon as I get my batch to inspect.

I suppose they are generally reliable but the only experience I've had from them (as a customer, not a band) was a pretty weird fuck-up. To their credit they did rectify it quickly after an angry bearded man sent them some angry emails.

Yeah, all the more reason for me to play it safe this time and wait until I've actually seen and handled a CD personally before I start shipping them out to customers.

Just listened to the whole Gloaming album from start to finish (went to bed immediately after posting that I had finished the last render last night) and I'm pretty well satisfied with it. There are definitely some things I would change about the songwriting for future releases but I think the results are pretty damn good, if I may say so myself!

Stoked to give the Oshiego album a listen as well!

yea they were quick aside from the angry email they were totally at fault since I had already had gotten the albums in to myself and they were correct on the ones I got and then the ones you got were just fuckered.

Up Next: Getting my guitars repaired/upgraded. Ah, the Blue balls of waiting for a huge bill! Actually my tech is so good that people ship him their guitars from around the state/seaboard to work on.

Ibanez Prestige RG2550ex -new pickups (Bare Knuckle C-Hawk in bridge and BG Bucker Dark in Neck), Trem-stopper, Brass sustain block (I installed that, hopefully correctly Fuck Tremolos), new black mirror pickguard (I wrecked the last one), setup (12-57 in B standard).

Agile Al3100 Red Wine Spalted LP Copy-BG Hellabucker @ bridge needs to be repaired (I kept switching the magnet and eventually the tab on the baseplate stripped out).

Bought a multimeter so I can learn to bias and put a quad of JJ E34L's in my Peavey XXX.

It's the mucho good.

since last post... got 2 more ange de la morte songs for a split. did 3 songs for xvart, all the vocals for the djentist, and 2 drum tracks for some tech death.

and been mixing some more stuff. I think Yzordderrex's new album is ready and found a track that I did for yzordderrex about 2 years ago that went unused that's 16 mins long. I think I might do an intro or outro to it and release it as an ep.

Released the Gloaming album digitally just now! I'm waiting for the first batch of CD's to get to me from Kunaki just to test to make sure they're alright before I make them available to buy from the Bandcamp page. Now comes the long, weary process of promotion, heh.

That's funny, just the other day I also dreamt that I listened to the new Gloaming album and it SUCKED.

Jokes, I streamed it while at work the other day. Doom/death isn't really my jam but you've got some cool riffs, and I liked the production and aesthetics. That cover art is tight. And good luck with the promo stuff! I love making music but that side of things I'm just terrible with.

Got about a demos worth of material for Exenterate. Onto the worst part now; lyrics and vocals. I've gotten really lazy with the two, and I don't really know why. It used to be my favourite part of the process, cause then I'm done aside from mixing. Writing lyrics just bores the hell out of me. Listening to the song over and over again, writing shit that fits with the music, then I give it all a once over and I hate it.. Oh well, not like anyone can understand that shit anyways, right?

Listened to the whole Gloaming album a few days ago, iamntbatman. Really liked it, love the Death/Doom mix. Reminds me that I need to get back to work on that Unlife demo that should have been out a month ago...

Ibanez RGR321EX with Emg's 81/60. Sounds pretty good!!

This is a test of my 3 guitars: My Les Paul w/Bill Lawrence, the aforementioned Ibanez and an acoustic Walden I've got recently. Used an Audiotechnica 2020 as mic. I still need to work on the distortion I think, but hell, it's already sounding better than Hereafter and this shit is unmixed, unmastered and has no bass.

Oh I used to have that guitar too, used it in a playthrough video, a bunch of YT covers, and some rehearsals before selling it off for something else. Twas very pleasant to play with though.

Spirit Division played our first shows since October this last weekend and they seemed to go fairly well. The turnouts for both were pretty small, but we got some decent feedback from people and have more confidence than before in our performances. Our next show will be a house show on April 17th and I'm hoping to have the album ready for release by then so I'm currently waiting for artwork. Also hoping to get some shows booked for the late spring and summer since we don't really have anything set.

Been pretty inactive lately, but yesterday I pulled up the tracks CloggedUrethra performed on and started undoing some of the equalization and filters I put on it. There is a lot more boom now, and the drums sound much, much more natural than before.

Nice! I got a RG550 a few week back. Nice guitar, but it desperately needs a fret job. After the 12th fret it's almost unplayed. And the first few frets have quite a few dents in it. Annoying as hell, because I want my action fairly low.
Might bring it to a luthier today.

And in the most glorious thing to ever wake up to in the morning, Blacksoul Seraphim's new album is listed as 2nd in current worldwide popularity on Bandcamp under the tag "Christian Rock".

Obviously we're doing something horribly, horribly right.

The irony of that statement is that we do release all the music in Blacksoul for free. Technically it's "pay-what-you-want", but the emphasis is on people just taking the music and doing what they want with it.

That's mighty generous of you. I couldn't hand my music out publicly for free like that, especially considering how tedious I've been at writing and mixing. I have two incomplete songs that have been this way for months because of how unfocused and distracted I've been.

I can't list mine for free because I'm forced to charge at least a dollar if I'm also selling physical copies of the album.
