good vocals, I'm liking this quite alot. I think in the mix the vocals could be cut a hair back. they almost are too piercing when they come in.

Glad to know you guys liked it, and yeah, we'll have to figure out a way to get the vocals down, problem is we lost the master tracks.

Also, finally finished recording the demo today (I'm destroyed hah, gonna sleep like a corpse), now the guitarist gotta do some mixing, I have to paint the cover and we're done!

Hopefully, a small local distro/label should be doing the printing if everything's ok.

I'm writing another song that I want to surpass my first composition on every level possible. It's going to be more sophisticated and will take the composition thing even further. I got most of the ideas gathered and ready for Sibelius. An original style is in the making :)

I just set up my home desktop to record on cause it has a built in firepod. so from now on I can do vocals at home instead of at the shed where I tend to lean towards recording music more often. I'm loving this so far. I can take a few sips of the good juice (vodka) for my voice and vomit right here while still checking ebay.

To clarify the post above, somewhere or other SLK mentioned he started his xmas vacation today.

In other news, FINALLY getting mixes back for my bands second album. Christ on a bike our engineer was slow moving to get started, but he's a talented guy and the studio he runs is fantastic, so the mixes we're getting back are sounding great. Mastering will be done next week, then pressing, then it hits the streets in January. Fucking pumped.

Great to know! I'll make sure to post here when we get it printed, though we'll probably put it online first because it's hard to wait that long heh

It’s a new wave band so I don’t really promote it on the board. But if anyone likes that style of music here's a couple videos from our last record:

That's actually pretty damn good, what are you playing there?
It's not something I'd listen to all day (not a big fan of new wave besides The Cure and Euroshima) but I'd certainly give it a few spins.

EDIT Oh shame, got too late to join the kickstarter fund, let me know once the album's out, I want to hear it.

Cool thanks man! I'm on synths. And yeah, I love The Cure but people tend to compare us more to somewhere between The Smiths, Joy Division and Depeche Mode.

The online fund raising worked well for us. We gave away our first album for free (both digitally and professionally pressed CDs) and a lot of people told us it was a bad idea, but when it came to making the new record our fans donated almost 5 grand to the band, so we did alright I think. I kind of like it- it's almost like selling records but in reverse.

This is good, I usully don't like many modern bands playing in this style but you all happen to have the proper sound to please me.

Cheers thanks man! I think it works for us because it evolved naturally out of our interests and playing styles, rather than being a conscious effort to ape 80s bands or an ironic hipster thing.

To me it reminds me quite a bit of the Killers. Which I actually like as well.

Dude, Fister, that shit rules. The Killers comparison is good, although I love the fact that you guys are so minimal. Did not expect that on these boards!

CorpseFister's synthpop stuff is pretty good for what it is. Which instrument do you play?

Telepaths reminded me quite a bit of REM's "Losing Religion", or mainly the vocal melodies did.

Hot Fuss is the only album I knew they put out.

well I wrote and recorded 17 grindcore songs.

my new desktop has an issue of wanting to completely freeze up. I'm not sure what it is that's doing it cause it's nothing I can pinpoint it to. it's just fucking random. click to open a folder. go to record something and it freezes in the middle. move the mouse around on the screen when nothing is up. just happens. and I have to totally turn off the computer and restart it.

Well, I always solved that kind of issues with good ol' format C:, but gotta say that since I switched to windows 7 (about two years ago) I haven't had any issues or felt any downgrading over time.

When it freezes, does it beep or it just stays there?

just stays there. I just bought this desktop literally 2 weeks ago. So it's running windows 7. Never has been hooked up to the internet, so it's not that's a virus.

No beeps, nothing.

Computer issues are resolved... apparently the PCI card I installed in my desktop didn't completely install the drivers from the last time I had shut it down. So that's what was hanging it up.

I just had to open it in safe mode then told it to restart and it then popped up saying it was finishing installing the drivers, and the completed and said to enjoy my new 1394 pci slot. Anyway no more issues at all after that. Joy.

recorded 10 grind songs for one band and 1 for the band I was working on yesterday.

Good to hear you sorted it out SLK. Tech issues getting in the way of music are fucking frustrating.

Anyway, not much going on tonight so I'm sitting in fucking around with my bass. Got two basslines together that I'm gonna record and turn into a post-punk tune- as long as I can keep time with 160 bpm drums haha.

beyond frustrating. esp when I had already lost 3 weeks and spent a nice chunk of change i set aside from building my own recording shed in my backyard.

Anyway I'm making up for lost time. wrote 5 power violence songs this evening before dinner. going to record them tmwr probably. and whatever assorted mess.

Got pissed at my drums today, mostly because I get frustrated when I mess up. Left that and wrote some lyrics.

Met up with the guy I'll be starting a band with when everything is set up. Have to find a place to practice and fix my set back to working order.

well that's just dumb to take it out on the drums when you only have yourself to blame.

wrote and recorded 6 new grind songs. and then worked my way through 22 guitar and bass tracks to some songs I wrote and recorded drums to last year.

Yeah, true. I get frustrated easily, but I'm working on it.

Planning on doing drum covers of Attomica's Deathraiser and maybe something by Agalloch.
