Voodoo Stan & The Satan Band, a pirate metal / swamp rock band from somewhere deep in the Caribbean, are just about to release their second album, "THE DEAD & THE DEPARTED". If you like seafaring, snakes and catchy rock/metal, there might be something for you here.

The band derive their music from great stories such as the works of Lovecraft and King Diamond. The Monkey Island game series – like all pirate stories – are an important influence. It's not all about pirates, though – "voodoo" is another key word here. Indeed, the songs on the new album present various ways to die both at the sea and on land. Musically, most of the album is quite heavy, but there are a couple of more gentle arrangements as well. These are meant to be listened in the morning after a few too many pints of rum.
