Hello,

I wanted to update everyone on the status of my solo project. I've changed the name from the silly and misleading "The Matt Parsons Band" to the more badass and respectable "Alas, Tyranny".

To save you the trouble of retagging your MP3s, you can download the full Alas, Tyranny demo here: http://rapidshare.com/files/186938421/A ... yranny.zip

Also, this is a great opportunity for anyone out there to get a copy of the demo and give it a listen.

If you like what you hear and have some extra cash, please buy the CD or a shirt! I'm trying my best to get my debut full length complete, and every little bit helps.

Thanks.

Everyone should listen to this. Great band, and I get the feeling that there's better stuff to come!

Good luck, Matt.

Thanks man!

Also, if any labels want to get behind my first full length, let me know.

About time you changed the name, I always felt the music suffered a bit for it to be honest.

Great stuff though, no doubt about it.

Thanks! I appreciate it, and I'll try and make the best CD I can.

Thanks! Yeah, the name was pretty crappy, but I never really expected anyone would give a shit about the music. Now that people actually listen to it I need to give it a bit more suiting of a name... Hopefully this will do it.

What did you use for drums? They sound pretty realistic but I'm guessing that they're programmed.

For the demo, EZ Drummer. For the new CD, Superior 2.0

Guess I forgot to post when I first listened to the music, but the demo is solid material. I definitely look forward to hearing a full length, or any other material. Good choice on the name change too. Keep it comin'!

The latest demo was pretty cool, Prometheus being my favorite of the five.

Thanks! I'll do my best to get this shit out the door... Being broke really doesn't help though

Thanks! It is also my favorite of the songs I wrote. My new CD has the same symphonic atmosphere as Prometheus, but applied more liberally and to more styles of music. Where I experimented with extreme death metal in The Dragons, there wasn't any symphony. In the new CD, there are two death metal songs like it, but better obviously and with good symphonic parts that intensify the heaviness a good bit.

Think Septic Flesh mixed with Vital Remains, without the boring repetition.
