Well, I'm a long time user of the site and I've just now registered. I intend to submit my band soon and as I'm sort of obsessive with accuracy and it's difficult to be objective with this sort of thing I'd like to request a bit of help selecting which genre(s) my band might fall under.

A link to our music is thus - www.myspace.com/spokeninfire

The recordings are a bit dated and the songs have had various alterations since then but I think the available tunes should be at least sufficient.

Also, I apologize if this is not the appropriate area for such a post. I'm new to the forum and haven't familiarized myself yet.

It's actually a serious post, I'm not looking to whore the band, although it does seem that way.

If this would be more suited in the promotions forum I'll move it there, like I said, I'm not familiar to the forum yet.

For some reason the myspace player won't load, and I can't listen to it.

... So I'm just going to say deathcore.

Try back sometime as I do think there's more to it than that. Then again, I'm posting this thread because it's hard to be objective with my own music, ha.

I was going to say deathcore, because there are non stop breakdowns essentially. Then I heard what was either a vocoder or auto-tune.

Standard death metal, with break downs thrown in. I won't make the correlations with deathcore because Spoken in Fire is missing aspects of a deathcore band.

edit: glad to have found out about you guys. Fellow Denver musicians, unite! Haha.

Even though I live about 2 hours south of you, hell yeah! It's always a pleasure meeting local musicians. Looked at your band's page and I liked it, the recordings give it the charm of raw BM but the music retains it's DM standards. Thank you for your time!
