Dungeon of silence
Abortion of the mind
Demented, twisted prenetic
Destoying all mankind
Commander of the legion
Your night shall now descend
To the darkest hell, you´ll follow me
Beyond the heaven´s end
Crucify the devil´s reign
Decease the black decay
Molesting only innocent
The price that they must pay
Lethal infection
Atomic zone of hell
The spoiled larva lay to rest
The sinners that have fell

Chorus:
I will take you down
To the terror kingdom

Devastation, pentagram, warriors of steel
Penetrate the bolted gate bestial appeal,
Guardian of fallen souls
Conquering the weak
Clottage of the insecure religion
That you seek
Execute the piercing wound
Infest the bloody cross
Black masses haunting sacred hymns
In memory of their loss
Worship on the oratory
Satiated plague
Existence of the nescient race
Adore the burning flag

Chorus
I will take you down
To the terror kingdom

Bridge:
Evil spirits rise, obituary
The vault of pressure
Funeral of death
Eternal purgatory
Pulsating veins
The terror reigns
I will take you....down....

I can see you now
I will watch you die
You will feel my grasp
Take your soul away
Forced to rid your life
I strive to bring you down
I will not respond
As I hear your plea

Past the horizon
We´ll watch the sea of flames
Protect the world of horror
Expel your foolish games
Observe the necromancer
Conjure up the gods
Poised are the insipid ones
The fallen one marauds
666 upon the rood
Beware the demon´s rite
Warped arrant
Those driving hordes
That mutilate the light

Overtake the living
Inside your state of mind
The forest reeks of rotting flesh
The bodies you will find
Never, ever think you´re safe
While bleeding from your head
You´re only coming to a hault
In the unholy land of the dead
Clawin, grinding to escape
You never can retalliate
You´re here for good
In solitude
To glare amongst the wretched gate
Noone will remember you
Distorted memory
The pit of doom shall be your tomb
The world of blasphemy

Chorus
I will take you down
To the terror kingdom

I just skimmed through the lyrics, and I don't see how the lyrics are particularly lame.

Bonded by Blood - Exodus.
It was the reason for Bay Area Thrash to be borned. It was the greatest period of thrash. The offspring of the best era in thrash. With Paul Baloff, Holt, Hunolt etc it was freaking amazing. Songs like Piranha, A Lesson in Violence, same-titled, Metal Command, Delive us to Evil, just CANNOT be rewritten. Unique to the flesh.

Metallica - ...And Justice for All.
However strange it sounds, it's the Metallica's album I think shines all the glory of that band. Mature and thrashy. I don't know, of course it's not better from Kill'em All, Master of Puppets in your opinion, but this album damn rocks. Rules........and justice for all.

1. Metallica - Muppets. This album combines the youth and aggression of Kill em All and Lightning with the technical excellence that would take center stage on Justice. This album is not just thrash or metal good but history of rock and roll good. Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath kind of good.

2. Overkill - Years of Decay. Has a nice variety. The songs all work for me to one degree or another. The clearly audible bass is also a nice treat.

3. Megadeth - Killing is my business... Aggressive, raw, and full of the attitude that would be missing off their later releases because of Dave getting his life together.

4. Slayer - Decade of Aggression Disc 1. After listening to this I found it hard to listen to the studio versions of these songs. They just sound so "thin" compared to their live versions.

5. Disciples of Power - Power Trap. Aggressive, progressive, technical, thrash/death. Everyone has their favorite obscure band. D.O.P. are mine.

I'd have to say that Minotaur's "Power Of Darkness" album is the greatest thrash album.

Then comes the Exumer release. It has a lot of speed metal influence, and as such doesn't really have the morbid hateful vibe that I normally look for in thrash metal. But what it lacks in the vein of hatefulness (new word?) it more than makes up for by the sheer amount of energy being released every second of the album. The musicianship is top-notch. There really is nothing bad with this release. This is what thrash/speed should sound like. Pure, relentless energy and unbelievably catchy riffs.

I just got this the other day and am listening to it now. What a fucking awesome album. I wouldn't say it's underrated, because probably everyone who has heard thinks it's awesome. I've listened to most of the other thrash albums mentioned here, and this one by Exumer is near the top. There are a few great melodic guitar solos (e.g. on "Destructive Solution") and I love the really progressive jazz bass part at about the 1:30 mark in "Sorrows of the Judgement". And the riffs...oh, man I think I'm gonna go spin it up again.

I don't really understand the praise for South of Heaven. It's a good album but definitely not the 2nd best thrash album ever.

1. Slayer - Hell Awaits
Although RIB is a stone cold classic, it can get old after the last 10,000th listen. HA is great every time you listen to it. Hell Awaits and Necrophiliac are two songs every Slayer fan should know by heart.

2. Megadeth - Rust In Peace
Dave Mustaine's finest hour. Technical yet catchy, there are just so many great songs on here, from the well-known "hits" like Holy Wars and Tornado Of Souls, to the underrated Rust In Peace... Polaris. The 2004 remaster is beautiful.

3. Metallica - Kill 'Em All
Very close tie with MOP, but I'd have to give the edge to KEA. Just some great, early thrash on here. No real bad songs. The Four Horsemen has been, and probably always will be, my favorite Metallica track.

4. Metal Church - The Dark
Criminally underrated band, criminally underrated album. I've always felt David Wayne was one of the best thrash vocalists, and he really showcases his voice on here. Very solid album all around.

5. Exodus - Bonded By Blood
Another overlooked goodie. Some great, solid riffs, as well as some nice melodic solos.

I didn't bother to check to see if this had already been said, but Sodom - Agent Orange is a brilliant album. It's gotta be up there methinks.

The only thing Mechanix has on The Four Horsemen is that it's faster. Otherwise, it has worse lyrics, worse vocals, and missing that awesome part in the middle of The Four Horsemen.

That interlude is kinda dumb, it's like they just made the slow part so it wouldn't be 100% exactly like The Mechanix, and 250 Mechanix bpms > anything.

Oh Cmon.. The loud "I WILL SLAUGHTER YOU!" at the end of Ignominious Slaughter. Dwell into surreality's lyrics sound like they were written by a 7 year old and there is a song about Santa.

A-fuckinGreed man! Hell Awaits has more atmosphere to me, has catchier songs/riffs, and is one of the logical influences on later black metal, etc (other than Bathory and the like) - not that Reign wasn't good or anything its just that Hell Awaits seemed more evil to me in a way (though its a bit more melodic)

Megadeth's Rust In Peace. Sure, maybe not their most aggressive, but as stated earlier, technical and awesome.

And c'mon, just listen to Hangar 18, or Holy Wars, and tell me you don't love that.

I'll take Rust over Peace any day. Peace is too progressive for me. It doesn't really even sound like thrash. Except for Devil's Island. That song is kind of amazing.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that SFSGSW is superior to Rust in Peace. I'm not mad, and Holy Wars is epic, but I found the former album a much more robust listen.

I actually have not heard that album. That's kind of one of those ones I skipped over when I was an amateur in the metal scene and never really got the time to go back and check it out.

This is a tough one for me. Part of me wants to call it one of the best ever but another part of me reminds me that a large portion of it doesn't grab my attention. The only tracks I can really get into are Ignominious slaughter, Terror Kingdom, slay Ride, and the title track and even those tracks have parts where I lose attention. still the guitar tone and vocals are some of the best ever and produces a one of a kind atmosphere for a thrash band. This is probably why I play through the whole album so much in my car. The only bands I can compare it to are Morbid scream and Rigor Mortis.

For best thrash album ever I really cannot decide. To much to choose from and my mood changes all the time. Maybe I'll come up with a list later when it aint 2:30 am.

The lack of Testament on this list is truly depressing, they are probably the most continuously fantastic thrash band out there. So my list is as follows:

Rust in Piece-Megadeth.-By far the greatest thrash album of all time, there is nothing wrong with this album, it is by all means perfect. The songs flow together, and there isn't a moment where you aren't hooked totally.

Ride the Lightening-Metallica.- In my opinion the best Metallica has released. They still had carry over from the brutality that was Master of Puppets, but also had some of the proggier stuff that they evolved in And Justice For All.

Souls Of Black-Testament.- One of the most badass things ever to be recorded, the title track is simply amazing, and that bass intro rocks my world.

Reign In Blood-Slayer.- It's been on most intelligent people's lists, so not much needs to be said. Even though it's incredibly short, still fucking rad.

Bonded By Blood-Exodus.- Stellar album, basically flawless, but not quite up to the ferocity of Souls of Black or Reign in Blood.

DEATH ANGEL - The ultra violence
The absolute perfection

VOIVOD - Killing technology
Raw but sounds great (my favourite band ever)

EXODUS - Bonded by blood
This is "pure" thrash metal

ANTHRAX - Among the living
Underrated by most of people, a great album

MEGADETH - Peace sells....
in my opinion the best Megadeth has realesed

Don't fight, they all rule! Hell Awaits is a damn great album, but the only problem is that it lives in the shadow of...

SHOW.
NO.
FUCKING.
MERCY.

BLASTING OUR WAY THROUGH THE BOUNDARIES OF HELL, NO ONE CAN STOP US TONIGHT!

Tom's best vocal line opens their first, and greatest album. Not only is it Slayer's finest moment, it's one of thrash's best gems.

This thread needs more Dark Angel. Go and listen to Time Does Not Heal and Darkness Descends at the very least.

Not thrash? Listen to Good Mourning/Black Friday, Wake Up Dead, The Conjuring or (insert any song from the album here) and try to prove that it isn't thrash.

The only thing Mechanix has on The Four Horsemen is that it's faster. Otherwise, it has worse lyrics, worse vocals, and missing that awesome part in the middle of The Four Horsemen.

You mean that "Sweet Home Alabama" rip off?

I think Peace Sells...But Who's Buying? is much thrashier than Rust in Peace. On RiP, there are parts here and there that may be thrashy, but the thrash of PS...BWB? seems a much more consistent thrash attack. RiP doesn't even seem that thrashy to me (thrash here and there, but not really enough to make me feel like I'm listening to a thrash album). Both RiP and PS...BWB? are great albums, but if I have to pick one to thrash to, it'd be PS...BWB?.

Rust In Peace is total thrash. Holy Wars, Take No Prisoners, Five Magics, Poison was the cure, Rust In PEace and Tornado of Souls are all thrash songs.
