What with the flux of random requests for song identification that do little more than just sit around taking up space once completed, I've created this thread in an attempt to reduce said threads.

Basically, if you're trying to figure out what a song is, post it here with whatever you know about it, be it a YouTube video, lyrics, or whatever. Hopefully someone will be able to help you.

Basically just interested, it's obviously not a popular band - to get something like this on primetime TV is quite rare. The band may not be aware of it, and curious as to how far the program researchers will go or whatever.

Not really sure if this belongs here, but do you know the Motorhead song "King of Kings"? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hlA5gA55vuM I searched it on the archives but didn't find it, was it ever released at all? It's actually the song that got me into metal a year ago :P

Google.com works wonders:

Motörhead have performed a new track titled "King of Kings", emphasizing Triple H's new "King of Kings" character, which made its debut at WrestleMania 22. "King of Kings" is also featured on the WWE Wreckless Intent compilation album. "The Game" and "Line in the Sand" are also featured on the RAW 15th Anniversary compilation CD.

Very helpful thread you created here. I posted a week ago in the FFA thread, in need of help with a small excerpt of a song from some VH1 metal documentary. I'll just paste what I wrote:

Quote:
Could someone help me with a excerpt of a song in this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HWLsAsKbSVU

It's around 3:03-3:25.

I've got the end of a song stuck in my head and I can't think of what song it is. The only vague clue I have is that the end of the song has a sad sounding piano tune. I probably have it on CD but its really bugging me. Any ideas? Even if noone figues it out, I'll at least get songs with a sad piano in them(which I like).

Draconian - The Cry Of Silence sounds like a possibility

@ pwd666: Could it be Morbid Angel from "Blessed are the sick?" A piano outro picks up at the end of a song. It's a different track altogether but they blend together quickly.

@206 - Its not that one, I like that song though.

@SpirtoftheForest - Not that one either but I do enjoy that song too.

Well I thought it might be Apocalyptic Dance by Bethlehem but its not it, although its possible its another Bethlehem tune. Keep the ideas coming, I realize its a very vauge description but if I find it Ill be sure to post.

Doesn't "Left Hand Path" end with a bit of piano? If that's the song I'm thinking of, I get that stuck in my head every once in a while.

I had this riff stuck in my head a few months ago, and I couldn't figure out where it was from, so I tabbed it out in Guitar Pro. My first thought was Windir, but I checked every one of their songs. My second thought was possibly Wintersun, but again, I couldn't find it in one of their songs. I'm starting to think I just made it up (in which case I'm totally using it in a song).

The song that begins at 2:43. I've been trying for months (almost years), to figure out what it is. I scavenged all of early Atrocity and it isn't anything they recorded. In the comments section some people are saying it's from an Alex Krull side project that never released jack shit. !!!??? WHAT!!?!?? WHY NOT?? Can't find anything on the archives from them except for other bands with the same name.

Corpus Christi or something.

Has anyone listened to the version of Future World played alive by Gammaray and Andre Matos (in the time he still playing in Angra) in Sau Paulo... They play a cover of a classic song for the intro... Is there someone who knows the name of the song?

I think that's a Dropkick Murphy's song.

Yes it is "I'm Shipping Up To Boston". Thank you so much! That part could've been in metal!

A friend gave me this link and asked what band it is, and I cannot figure it out.

http://www.efukt.com/2431_Death_Metal_Porn.html

All I can really say that I know about the video is that the quote in it is from the Exorcist III
"rip! And cut! And mutilate the innocent! His friends! And again, and again, and on and on!!!"

Its the same quote Children of Bodom used on the song Taste of My Scythe

Power Metal

Thanks. The beginning sounds like Cellador, but the vocalist doesn't.

The second real metal song is by Exciter, Manowar being the intro.

This is my very poor reconstruction of a folk/viking metal song that is stuck in my head. Sorry that I can't sing for shit.

Raw demo sound, similar to Isengard, that melody that I tried to sing is both sung by the singer and played by a synth-flute. Not an obscure band, either, I think it is something somewhat well-known.

Nope, just another one of those excruciatingly gay folk/black metal records. Just happens to be annoyingly catchy at the same time. Kind of a pagan metal version of Modern Talking, I guess.
