I have deleted Rage (UK)
http://vibrationsofdoom.com/test/test2/Rage2.html
They played American style commercial hard rock, not NWOBHM.

Also The Flying Sixty-Nine - glam.

This band's physical release was faked: http://metal-archives.com/band.php?id=3540295783

Proof: http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g86/u ... prooff.png
(I asked because I got excited because I really like this band)

A lot of the bands Zitadelle submitted around this time are also very questionable. Most seem to be up for free download.. making me think he printed out the covers and made his own release. This one used to be up for download, too.

Yeah, definitely a faked physical release, and the other bands he submitted should be under scrutiny; he even tried to submit another band this way, under a different username, after he got banned with this username. Deleted.

EDIT: Went through all of his submissions, and could only confirm that 7, maybe 8, do indeed have physical releases, just from visiting the MySpace links and a couple of distros along the way.

When you say Crustcore do you mean Crust punk aka Crust, a form of Punk rock which is closely related to hardcore. Seems more than a little redundant. I would describe Hellkrusher as Crust Punk/Thrash.

edit: post I replied to is now deleted.

It should say "more crustcore" than metal.
Those notices are only informative, to give an idea which band was deleted. They are not up for discussion.

and anyway uruk hai will release a cdbox in the next weeks which contains material which is predominantly metal!

The band ØØPart is a virtual project and all their albums were released online with no physical versions. I know this because I have one of the former members on my MSN and he informed me that he left the band because of this very reason.

and next time it would be neat if the split album was fixed before one participating band was deleted.

I have deleted Beowulf (L:A.) . They were never a thrash metal band, even early on the played hardcore punk, a bit Motorhead influenced, but still hardcore punk. Good band, but really not predominantly metal.

http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=16255 - NOT black metal, no guitars to be found anywhere:
http://oskorei.bestweb.ru/releases/show ... eases=1054
http://oskorei.bestweb.ru/releases/show ... eases=1056
http://www.metallibrary.ru/articles/rev ... ikket.html - "Ov Vinter Kalm". The part with 0.5%/100% literally reads: "Rikket's originality lies also in the fact that Melehorn uses clarinet and the percentage of guitars in the music is equal to 0,5% / 100%. This 0,5% is the use of acoustic guitar. But electric guitar would have been quite out of place here".

The cd has not come out yet: http://metal-archives.com/band.php?id=3540302915

I asked them: http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g86/u ... 1268761792

(It was supposed to come out when the 3 releases listed on the label's homepage came out and they did not.)

Not in the record label's shop at all either, http://ccpcom.window.hl-users.com//ccps ... n=auringon

I have deleted:
Forever Annihilating the Obese - pure grindcore
Second Skin - bluesy hard rock.
Bronz - not NWOBHM, but they play commercial hard rock in American style.

I have deleted Nightwing (Gbr). The band has always played melodic hard rock like Magnum and was often mistakenly considered to be a part of NWOBHM movement.

The review below elaborates in detail on that:

I have deleted Svartidaudi. The demo was not released yet. I received a report from band member this year, telling us that the cover was reworked (he was unaware of our rules). The next time it gets accepted, it will only be with link to a distro or a demo photo.

Am I missing something? I found links to distros/sale lists when I did a search before I accepted it:
http://ominous-domain.com/shop/product_info.php?cPath=23_65&products_id=251
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350309097329
http://www.metal-archives.com/board/viewtopic.php?p=1213588#1213588
http://forum.zwaremetalen.com/forum_topic/2561958 (scroll down to 29-05-2007, listed under tapes)

From what I can tell, the band is looking to release the demo on CD based on a couple more links not listed here, but based on these links the band has already released the demo on tape format limited to 300 copies. That is, unless those 300 copies are bootlegged; I'm not aware of that through my search.

O.K., this looks like it was released, but then I do not understand, why the band member reported it. Perhaps the reissue cover will be changed ?

This band seems kind of suspicious - http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=18928 - googling songtitles yields no results outside of MA except for those that used MA as a source (so maybe both demos were never physically released), and googling artist's name yields this - http://www.1888pressrelease.com/debut-s ... 61dp8.html - apart from that, the track titles on the second demo are too glam-like.

Is this really black metal? http://metal-archives.com/band.php?id=26983

There are some songs on their myspace that sound like it, but they are not on the release.

The day before yesterday I browsed through non-metal bands on the Archives and found some that don't belong here for various reasons (in my opinion, of course):

http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=26568 - definitely not a side project, because it's not even known when Vlad K. was in Ashes You Leave (but he certainly didn't appear on their 1996 demo and 1998 album, and Kerovnian was founded in 1997).

http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=60339 - I doubt "The Other Side" is a label with worldwide distribution, and judging by the track lengths and this (take a look at the only comment in the thread), they're not metal.

http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=15535 - from additional notes: "Gorepriest lacks of distorted guitars. The synths are the most important part of it". Besides, both labels that Gore Priest used to be on don't look like those with worldwide distribution.

http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=100621 - I don't think that The Fossil Dungeon's releases are distributed worldwide.

http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=41592 - same with Root Of All Evil / Theatrikil.

http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=66743 - apparently all demos were self-released (so no worldwide distribution).

http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=33596 - no worldwide distribution (Pyramid Inc. is not the same as Pyramid Records).

http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=16212 - no worldwide distribution.

http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=20772 - if Total Holocaust Records (which released NFH's debut album) is considered here a label with worldwide distribution, then this band should remain on the Archives.

http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=30009 - no worldwide distribution.

http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=19438 - same as above (unless Abstract Emotions Records had it when it was still active).

http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=41176 - same as above.

http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=38763 - same as above.

http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=21490 - same as above (I don't think EastSide is a "major" label).

http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=20559 - same as above.

http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=19830 - same as above (Autumn Wind is no Cold Meat Industries or Cold Spring).

http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=35950 - again, I don't think that The Fossil Dungeon's releases are distributed worldwide.

http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=92325 - all demos were self-released (so no worldwide distribution).

http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=76090 - I think only the vocals are BM-influenced here (and even this is arguable).

http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=58405 - I listened to all tracks @ myspace and heard no BM at all, just poor noise.

http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=37202 - all demos were self-released (so no worldwide distribution). Also, see each demo's additional notes for artist's own description of the music; as one can see, it's not metal in the slightest bit.

http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=55807 - if the style is given as "Darkwave with Death/Black elements", it's logical to presume that darkwave constitutes more than 50% of the music. Both demos were self-released.

http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=955 - no worldwide distribution.

http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=27620 - not sure about this one, actually.

http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=37742 - same as above, I don't really know if Vendlus is distributed worldwide by some other label (but I don't think so).

Also, I wonder what Stijn van Cauter's various non-metal projects are doing here, because most of them were self-released on NULLL records (with the notable exception of Fall of the Grey-Winged One's debut album, re-released by Supernal).

I would go with discogs... they are generally quite accurate.
