I find it rather ironic that there's somebody looking for scenic nature photos on Metal Archives.

Great pictures forestcorpse! I am especially taken by how beautifully haunting the fifth picture is. Reminds me of my days in northern Ontario.

Last year i visited a nature reserve, which is about a 2 hour's walk from the outskirts of my home-town of Cluj Napoca. You can see from a distance that it's a special place, since the flora is really varied. Every small area in the reserve has some different kind of plant-life making the place very colorful. It's also pretty isolated because of the dense bushes. Hard to believe a place like this exists only 7 kilometers from a city with 400.000 inhabitants. I'm far from being a good photographer, but i hope i can give a sense of how amazing this place actually is.

i admire your scenery. yet, where i come from in shithole tucson, you will never be able to capture desert beauty during intense monsoon storms..yet, i envy you.

Some amazing pictures here.

Here's a few I took in January, somewhere in Oregon. I fell asleep while riding on a train, woke up to snow. I think it's somewhere before Eugene, can't be sure.

cba to post them individually, so here's the album on flickr:

A lot of people, when they think of Oregon, think of its rugged coastline, which is indeed very beautiful. Or they think of Portland, which is a great city. However, these photos are from the opposite end of the state, which is much less well known, but just as beautiful and rugged in it's own right. One of my favorate areas in the Pacific Northwest to explore.

Here is Oregon's "Stonehenge"

Image

Rain on the Barrow Downs

Image

Leslie Gulch and the Tower of Phallus: so called, because it looks like a giant, errr, tower.

Image

Cant get this dang fire started! This is actually petrified wood that was just found lying around in a gulch. People like to collect it for souveniers for some reason; dont know why since it doesnt burn worth a %$^&.

Image

These pics were all taken in the Succor Creek and Leslie Gulch areas, roughly 30-40 miles (50-65 Kilometers for you metric folks) south of Ontario, Oregon.

There was some pretty incredible heat lightning going on for about 2 hours tonight around where I live, and it was really damn close. So I went out on my deck and snapped about 50 pictures, hoping one would capture it. And I only really got one:

Image

It's obscured by a damn cloud and it's a pretty far-off set of bolts so it doesn't do the storm any justice. But I thought it was a decent enough shot.
