I hate going without sleep. I get physically ill if i'm not in bed by 11pm. Like, I start getting a runny nose and a cold. I dunno, it's probably a physical manifestation of my nerdiness.

I stayed up all night Sunday because I was too worried that I wouldn't wake up in time to catch an 8 AM bus. Sometimes if I stay up too late due to lack of discipline (often spent inside, on the pc) and decide it would just be easier/less risky to stay awake until whatever I have to do.

Sometimes I cheat with amphetamines, but the past few times it's been just caffeine.

When I was ten, I forced myself to stay awake all night just to see what kind of effects would happen. Surprisingly, I never felt tired, and I went through the whole day as if I had been well rested.

I once forced myself to go through 4 days without sleep. The first day was fine, even good, but afterwards it sucked hard.

No, I will not provide context for that statement.

It's best that we would not ever question such situations. Especially about buttcheeks.

People are losing their MINDS over this whole Hostess fiasco. Twinkies are going for unbelievable prices on eBay. Why, America? Why? It's a fucking sponge cake.

I don't even get it. Surely some other company will make them a few months down the line. The whole thing is just ridiculously overblown.

Little Debbie makes better junk food anyway, and I never liked Twinkies.

Peanut Butter Crunch Bars > anything Hostess.

Because of Zombieland? Makes you wonder why they went bankrupt in the first place.

The best junk food is cheap knock-offs of famous chocolate bars.

While I do have an unnatural obsession with Twinkies I'm a little upset. But man; it's amazing how it's become the focus of media attention.

Don't you guys think the Twinkie would be easy enough to recreate on one's own? I mean, maybe Hostess got it 'just right', but I think someone could figure something out.

It's basically their recipe for sponge cake with a 40cc injection of pure whipped cream godliness. It just wouldn't be the same.

I never had any twinkies, should I feel bad?

These are probably better anyway and there's a pinup on the box: http://images.lpcdn.ca/435x290/201002/2 ... -boite.jpg

That picture somewhat reminds me of Wagon wheels. Everyone in our elementary school would trade endless amounts of candy, create-a-pizza kits, and shitty overpriced pop (Chubby :() to obtain them. I had one for the first time in years the other day, and all I could think about while eating it was how dry it was...

I've never had Twinkies, either; due to pop culture exposure, I was always planning to, just to see what the fuss is about... Oh, well.

I tend to go without sleep quite a bit; I always leave uni assignments to the last minute (and, now, marking thereof), so I'd pull an all-nighter for almost every paper... Honestly, not that bad, though I find I get really depressed at 4:30 every single time - at that minute, I suddenly feel truly awful; passes at about 5. No idea why. My record is probably around 96 hours without sleep; not recommended, though - at that stage, the patterns in my curtains and carpet appeared to move, which was entertaining until they started spinning in opposite directions and made me somewhat nauseous. My sleep patterns have been fucked up since high school anyway, though; I rarely ever get to bed before 3 these days, and if I have nowhere to be for a few days that shifts to 4. Eh. I am nocturnal. And rambling.

A track review for Timeghoul's Boiling in the hour glass, in a thread for another forum I post at:

"Timeghoul - Boiling in the Hourglass. Oddly atmospheric death metal. I feel like I'm being judged. In outer space. Like a musical space opera. With the cast of Planet of the Apes. The gorillas are not happy with democracy. Space-y solo, bro. This ghoul must travel through time. And in that case, that solo is kinda like when the guys on Wayne's World go doodaloo doodaloo doodaloo. Chant chant chant growl growl growl. Widdle widdle. This song is long. This won't ever end. Oh my god this blows. 1/10 "

The cheap, industrially produced chocolates, cakes, cookies etc. never taste as good when you've grown up as they did when you were a kid. A lot if it has to with growing up i.e. developing more taste for things that aren't sweet, but also finding out better things and becoming more discerning and giving more thought to the thing as well as also to things like mouthfeel and how moist or dry the thing is. Pulla (a Finnish sweet bun) never lost that appeal for me though. Then again, that's the home-made stuff, not the industrial crap.

Mae Wests suck, Metantoine. I too have never had a Twinkie. It's the price to pay for being Canadian, I suppose.

(Pretty obviously) I've never had one and the only times I've ever seen them mentioned are Ghostbusters and Zombieland. So this whole drama seems pretty silly/funny from where I'm standing.

I'm getting some Hostess products from an American friend. Twinkies are not the best thing they made, but I'm getting far superior HoHo's and Zingers. I'm looking forward to the deliciousness...that I will not sell on eBay.

Or just everything which Scottish fast-food places have "innovated"... We have deep fried, battered pizza up here. I might be taking a bit of creative license out on the term "best" though.

We have an Irish place here that has deep fried Mars bars. I need to go there some day.

Twinkies are decent at best and some other snack company (Little Debbie) is going to buy the recipe anyway so it's not like they'll be gone forever... and even if they are the Ding Dongs, Ho Hos, and chocolate Donettes are a much greater loss.

And fuck yes, Bezerko. Insect Warfare is appropriate for all times of the day, have listened to them early as shit on my way to work many many times. Not a full length but the Endless Execution Thru Violent Restitution cd they put out a while back is a compilation of a lot of their earlier splits and functions pretty close to a full length so pick that up if you haven't. Also, if you don't have their split with Carcass Grinder then get on it, their best jams imo.

I hardly drink tea or coffee any more at all, and very rarely more than one mug a day, so when I have it now it actually seems to work!

World extermination is my favourite grindcore album by a long way.

I have like 10 cheap CDs in my trade list that I bought like a year ago that are just a bunch of worthless reissues or stuff I don't care for anymore. Do you think I'd have any luck just selling them on ebay in a lot for even half the amount I purchased them for? I kind of just want to get rid of them, but I wouldn't want to feel like I was throwing away money. They've gotta be worth something to someone.

I feel like I've become so much smarter about choosing carefully what I want to buy instead of just being like, hurr I wanna have that cheap shit CD because it's cool. When having some things that aren't worth having has now made me feel very uncomfortable.

I got rid of all those once. I was left with about 20 or so cds and a Russian copy of Hammerheart. In retrospect I'm kind of displeased with myself as I got rid of them for dirt cheap; but I mean it's not like I listen to much AC/DC, Led Zeppelin and what not these days .
