Dark Moor - Hand in Hand

As much as I enjoy their last 2 albums, The Hall of the Olden Dreams is still their best by far.

That's probably my favorite song from them. So, so incredibly brilliant and catchy. Though I gotta say, my favorite album of theirs will probably always be The Gates of Oblivion.

NP: Dream Theater - Learning to Live

I'll defend the brilliance of Images and Words and Awake until the day I die. Absolute gems, and no, not overrated. :)

Please do! Dream Theater doesn't get a whole lot of mentions here, it seems.

They get mentioned, it just seems to be in a less than flattering light more often than not. I guess I just don't see all the pretension people always associate with them. Maybe because they're ridiculously accessible and usually always the first name that prog newbs blurt out when they say, "Oh yeah! I love progressive!". I don't know, and don't really bother to care all that much. I don't think I'd really call myself a Dream Theater fan as much as just a major fan of those two albums. But I love 'em, shamelessly. :nods:

NP: Deceased - Fearless Undead Machines

Because when in doubt: Deceased.

Exciter - Pounding metal

I don't care what anyone thinks, I think it's redundant as fuck when bands make songs about their own genre, especially like this song. These guys were cool until they started saying the words "pounding metal!" like... lemme count... 35 times! About 8 in the first half of the album and like too much in the end the album. I don't really care if they make a song just about metal, exodus did that and it was cool. But SERIOUSLY. Annoying song is annoying and redundant. Besides that line repeated over and over it's a good song.

The Eagles - Hotel California

What can I say? It's a classic, dammit.

Riya - Over

It's the most depressing upbeat bubblegum pop song ever!

Front Line Assembly - System Anomaly

Not liking the introduction of dubstep elements, let's hope this is one off because it barely sounds like FLA.

^Which album is that from?

Grave Miasma - Ritual Lair

Seriously dark and bestial death metal. The main central riff invoked is an tectonic plate shattering movement in chordal form; a heaving, lumbering, primitive monolith dedicated to the breaking of necks - slowly, and without remorse.

It's an instrumental soundtrack for some new game called AirMech. It's scraping the line between listenable and garbage.

Mithras - Forever Advancing...... Legions

Such a killer debut from a consistently impressive band.

Amorphis - Sky Is Mine

I really like this album, but they could have used a little more death growls. It would have made for some more contrast and energy.

Angra - Ego Painted Gray, off Aurora Consurgens

This is a very strange tune coming from a power metal band, but I like it all the more because of it. So many different textures, shades, and layers.....

Bunker 66 - Still they Lurk (In the Shadows)

and so begins the Sunday black-thrash session... The d-beats pervading this album really gives it some attitude.
