Masterplan - Black in the Burn

The chorus in this song is what I aspire to when writing choruses.

Paradise Lost - Breeding Fear

Out of the band's first 5 albums I still consider this one to be my favourite of theirs. It's raw, it's messy and totally awesome. Nick's barking vocals mixed with the slow, eerie riffs just couldn't match any better. Awesome stuff.

Hard to believe they came back to the thrash as much as they have. Hope the next album is more thrashy!

Neither into Paradise Lost.

Epitome XVII from (2012) Blut aus Nord - 777 Cosmosophy.
XVII and XVIII are VERY nice songs to close the trilogy.

I LOVE the intro to this song. It reminds me of something you'd hear off Frost.

Twilight Witchcraft - Jess & the Ancient Ones

Another song with a killer intro... I also love the main riff and vocal melodies. Then again, the whole album is close to flawless! However, the song just ended and now it's...

The Strange Case of Dr. Henry Howard Holmes - Hellwell

This album grows on me more and more every time I listen to it. The keyboards work so well with the riffs, and Shelton sounds awesome.

Great album, and I agree about Shelton's vocals. In fact, Beyond the Boundaries of Sin contains my favorite vocal performance of his. He sounds bloody demonic in End of Days, what with those cavernous utterings of "The serpents RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISE!!!"

Lizzy Borden - Den of Thieves, off Visual Lies

Holy crap, this is terrific! The vintage taste, the compelling hooks..... How is it that I've been missing out on this stuff?!

Visual Lies is pretty much the epitome of commercially rich metal music in my eyes... every song is ridiculously memorable and perfectly produced. The album could serve as a time capsule of the era, yet its worth hasn't aged a day. It's worth a 100%, a Niccolo's desert island disc award, and many other countless titles I could embellish it with. In my top 10 needless to say.

In other words, I like it.

2Pac - Me Against the World

In a coincidental connection to Lizzy Borden, this is just a great mood listen. 2Pac in his prime was quite excellent.
