Holy shit. This new song is awesome.

New Suffocation and Defeated Sanity coming out in the same month? I don't know if I can handle that.

Definitely enjoyed this, sound is great. Will probably like this more/less whenever the album is released properly, but I'm definitely still pumped. Also, whoever is doing their hoodies/longsleeves needs to get on it because I WANT ONE.

I can't say whether I like this new guitar tone. On one hand it's a lot clearer and crisp, allowing one to make out the notes better, but on the other it lacks the grimy, murky atmosphere of Chapters. Ah well, at least the riffs are cool. And it's nice that the drums are less reliant on gravity blasting this time.

Love that the production I'm able to discern a bit more of what they're playing. My only complaint about their past albums is that they're somewhat inaudible.

Thanks for the pre-order tip. I just completed my pre-order. 13.00 and no shipping? Sheeeet. Easy call for this.

I didn't get a long-sleeve shirt option! Checking on that now. That's what I wanted! Might still get the new Katalepsy w/ LS option, though.

Edit: it appears the shirt is available (as well as a hoodie), but prices for those don't change when bundled w/ the pre-order CD/DVD/Patch combo. The LS shirt is 23.00 either way. Killer looking shirt, though. :)

Yeah, full price for both items. I had to bite the bullet because I've wanted a DS longsleeve since Psalms came out, though I never got around to it.

Been listening to the new released song more, and I find that Lille's drums really push this song forward. His changes underneath a few of the repeated riffs really make them stand out, especially towards the end of the song. Top notch stuff, I expect the album to be this solid throughout.

Is it me or are the vocals just a tad bit too low in the mix? Nice to hear the random little 'free style' like bass parts make a return. The fast riff towards the end is what I really want to hear more of. These groovier songs are cool. I just hope they did not cut out all of their ''i cant make out all the notes because they are playing so fast'' riffs like that one around the 4:20 mark.

They sound lower than they were in the past, but to me that makes the guitar riffs a little more discernable which is awesome to my ears. New song ruled as expected, I need this in the mail NOW!

Couldn't find "Perspectives" or "Martyrium", which may be a good thing as I'll still have something to look forward to when my copy arrives in the mail. Anyways, a few tracks in and my expectations have been met: another quality Defeated Sanity record with some of the tightest compositions the band has done to date.

yeah its leaked on to the net can be found all over the place, and it is excellent. another top notch release from these guys. I wouldnt say they are kings of modern death metal, more kings of brutal/tech death metal, as there are a lot of osdm bands out there doing killer things as well.

Anyone check out the bonus DVD yet? About what you'd expect, but the songwriting part was quite awesome. A lot goes into what they do that was interesting to learn. You hear it, but some of the nuts and bolts about how they operate as musicians and as a band together was good stuff.

Yes sir. I can't believe some fuckface already leaked it when willowtip was kind enough to send out albums early.

Album is amazing, as to be expected. The DVD is very entertaining and the patch kicks ass. Glowing review across the board

I'm holding off until the actual album's out but from the two songs officially released, my expectations for this are high. Going off of these initial reactions they should be met fairly easily. They seem to have found just the right combination of modern technicality with '90s songwriting sensibility and production/tone, the latter of which goes a long way for me. Not that it REALLY matters overall, but how is the intro track? Does it actually serve a purpose or is just typical ambient nonsense? I just want to see that trend die and I figured Defeated Sanity would be a band to help stick the knife in. A dumb question but if it's as expected, then I'm already over it so no matter.

I thought it was going to be one of those pointless ambient intros at first, too, but it's not. It's an actual song just as legitimate as all the others on this album... just a bit shorter. And faster.

^What he said^

It's a hell of a deal to get the CD, Patch, and bonus DVD for $10.00. Certainly in my top 2 albums for 2013 and it will most likely stay that way. The production and tone is just so good. They stay perfectly true to form throughout the album but there is so much going on - so many changes and twists and turns within each song it's incredibly interesting.

From the bonus DVD they describe the lyrical and album concepts which were also very interesting. They put an incredible amount of thought and effort into the album in all facets.

Huh. I listened to a song, and as someone who absolutely despised Chapters of Repugnance, that was pretty damn good. My main complaint about their last album (that the guitar tone is way too muddy and shitty for its own good, and lacks the crunchiness and definition that I expect from a technical BDM band) has been addressed, it seems, and the band aren't really trying to play as many slams anymore which is good because they suck ass at them. I'm expecting this to be surprisingly decent.
