Also, while laptops in general are irritating and suck, I've been personally annoyed to find that I now can't use laptops with an actual keyboard hooked up via USB. I have to use the stupid laptop keyboard, as I've mentally gotten used to using laptops at a certain distance. It just feels weird using a real keyboard with them.

And since we're also apparently talking about keyboards, I agree they look pretty gross if you don't clean them. Truth. And my current keyboard won't have that problem, because it has a drainage system in it. No spilled beer/coffee worries here. No accidental blood either, unlike a certain poster here......for those of you who've been here long enough. ;)

For everyone who hasn't checked out the Underground Resistance thread, Leave No Cross Unturned is here in its full 14 minutes of glory.

Las Vegas was hella fun. Didn't get out as much as I wanted to but I did get a few epic Fallout: New Vegas pictures. I'll upload them tomorrow.

I'll probably have to wait until it leaks to hear it; I don't have money in my budget for music right now and I would so totally buy that. :(

$16 for a digital download is the dumbest fucking thing ever. Listening to the song "who sees you" now and this is actually really good. Really reminds me of the slower songs off of Loveless.

They have cds and lps as well. But the digital is the cheapest. The lp is $30 which is insane to begin with, plus I'm sure the shipping is fucking ungodly.

I'm seriously considering it. I have it up in a different tab. I'll probably think about it tmwr... at least take a listen to it. it's some modern take on 80's thrash from the description.

the new MBV leaked almost instantly. Before the site was back up, actually.

I rate it... MEDIUM SEVEN.

The new MBV album sounded great on first listen, I would give it a 9/10 so far.

How much do LP's usually cost where you live?

About to listen to M B V for the first time! I told myself I wasn't going to buy any more music for the rest of the term, but if this is good I might have to order the vinyl, and probably the CD too.

Loveless being one of my favourite albums though, I just can't see it living up to any of my expectations.

Loveless doesn't get much (read: any) love from me. I guess it's alright if you just want dull, meandering textures and whatnot.

Obligatory note: all that shoegaze shit belongs on MARS!

Why are Two From The Vault style double releases not included in the archives? Would they not fall under the classification of compilation?

There are interesting ideas on the album, but to actually listen to it, it's really boring and shitty. Overblown with layers and whatnot, and without meaningful substance. Slowdive is just superior in every way.

Some guys and I are trying to set up a league at my university. Last year my buddy and I would have a few beers and play dodgeball on the rez team. It was always a good time. I actually probably would be playing dodgeball today if it wasn't for pinning and then the Super Bowl.

It's $22 for a CD. I was going to buy it until I realized that shipping isn't included in the price and it'd be an additional $6. Fuck that. I'll just wait until I can get a copy on eBay or something.

Depends on what style, really. Punk/grind stuff can be as cheap as $8, where metal LPs usually range in the $15-20 area. I bought the new Pig Destroyer for $30 but it was also the super limited edition version. I'm tempted to buy this because Loveless is quite possibly my favorite album of all time, but $30 for what sounds like a standard LP is absurd, regardless of whose name is on the cover.

Book Burner for $30? Yikes.

I remember when I started listening to MBV and my mom mentioned that she was absolutely in love with them in the 90's. I love my mom.

I used to prefer Slowdive, but nowadays I listen to MBV a hell of a lot more. It kind of also annoys me when people ONLY seem to mention those two bands when talking about shoegaze though.

Also I thought the album was pretty cheap. Vinyl, CD AND lossless download for £18, most new vinyl releases tend to be almost that by themselves here. Postage of £4.20 in the UK is fine too.

I made a youtube video. Duplicate the same video into a new tab and play them simultaneously for double the effectiveness.

The more tabs you open it in the better it gets. I mean, once you open it into like 10 or so tabs, it's like you're basically leaving earth behind and going to outer space.

We got the 2nd place! We lost against kinesiology (they're douchebags) in the final! That's for the university carnival so we got like 125 points.

Nothing makes you appreciate your bed like having to share a Ford Ka with three guys for one night. No homo.

Venenum was great, Obscure Infinity was great, whoever that last band was was great and Revel In Flesh was ignored in favor of beer.

Ugh why does itunes hate me? I finally got around to downloading all the music from my ipod into and only about half of it actually works. The other half just says that the files can't be located. Why itunes why? :crash:

My sympathies. I've always hated the ipod and more so itunes. I've expressed my hate towards itunes before on this thread. Luckily I have to encounter this fail software and player only at friends' houses.

I've been a winamptard since 1998 :)

I used to use Winamp years ago but Apple is evil and won't let you use anything but their crappy ass programs with an ipod at least none that I can figure out. Winamp Winamp Winamp it Really whips the llamas ass.

There is winamp for macs you know. But for transferring songs to your ipod, you'll still have to put yourself through the ordeal of using itunes. And yes, it still whips the llama's ass.
