In Your Multitude is great. I don't like the debut much but I'm sure it will grow on me sometime - haven't heard the other two albums.

Yeah, the debut isn't very good imo, but Parallel Minds is their masterpiece. It's a full display of delectable, hooky riffs and memorable songwriting. The guitarwork is truly mesmerizing, as is Khan's smooth performance. Definitely check it out when you can.

Flow, on the other hand, is hit or miss. It's half excellent and half meh.

In Your Multitude is my favourite Conception album - it's really cool, catchy and song-driven progressive metal. ''Guilt'' is kind of a mweh song and the second half definitely does more to me than the first half, but it's still cool. The other albums all have their moments but aren't too consistent.

NP: Virgin Steele - Childslayer

No idea what happend in 4 years but how David went from singing like this to the whispery mode of the latest record is beyond me.

Rage - In the Darkest Hour

This is so fucking good. I guess for speed metal it was just Walls of Jericho I couldn't get into much, because this absolutely murders everything in sight. WTTOS might still inch it out, but this is just so cool and pulp-sounding. Great riffs.

If you like that, you should also check out Scanner's Hypertrace, which is one of my favorite albums ever and the best speed metal there is as far as I'm concerned (P.S.: that's also where my title came from :) )

Brooklyn White - XVIII

It's nice supporting a local friend's debut rap mixtape. This one is rather nice for a first outing, featuring some Kendrick Lamar-style poise.

Oh I heard that album years ago, just don't have it on my current computer. It's great. Prototypical power metal - sorta the basis for the 90s sound all in one album, even moreso than the Keepers albums really.

Yeah, it sort of treads the line between power and speed metal. Honestly I think it tops the Keepers albums for that style, and the 80s cheesiness of the concept and sound effects is just too delicious not to love. LIKE A HAWK IN THE SKY!! :metal:

Think I need to listen to that now...

Suffocation - Pinnacle Of Bedlam - Purgitorial Punishment

Oh fuck yes. On my first official listen. This song a lone is just like holy shit. Definitely some new ideas blended in but its for the better. I cant wait to hear the rest of the album, lol.

Coffins - Mortuary in Darkness (Full album)

Forgot all about these guys but stumbled across the cd while looking through my collection. Heavy, crushing Celtic Frost/Autopsy worship currently pummeling my skull.

Iced Earth - My Own Savior (live)

I love the clean guitar interlude. Smedley's hands are shaking spasmodically off the symbols, barely keeping himself together until the distortion kicks in again.

Darkspace - 3.12, after reading nothing but great things about this band here on the archives I finally got around to checking them out and holy fuck wow are these guys good. My ears just got a boner.
