Wrong thread, they aren't going to get Metallica out of the archives. ;P (There are two related reports, though)

Haha, wasn't looking to have Metallica removed, and I didn't see the reports earlier. The demos do actually exist, but they weren't official releases by the band, and hence they should be removed.

Swedish band White Knuckles in archive, despite the evidence of any releases and no release information in the discography, beyond a mention in "additional notes" that they put out one demo.

Any mod who feels like wasting 70 minutes of his or her life on quiet guitar plucking may check out Hlidolf's (listed as drone/doom) V01D album. I think it's more guitar-ambient than doom.

I just want to know it's metal or not.

I don't really think Evendim http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Evendim/3540335786 is folk metal. But I ever listened to their songs, nothing sounds like real metal, it's like folk rock or punk with accordion for me.

There are 3 songs in their demo album, http://www.reverbnation.com/evendimband how about you?

Yep, that's not metal at all. Deleted.

Austrian Uruk-Hai has (finally) been deleted. It was reassessed and found wanting, not a valid SP, not a valid special exception and no consistently metal release in the monstrous discography.

Not that many, actually. There were 6-7 or so, but half of those for splits, so they stayed. I emailed the rest to their respective authors.

I was just curious, because I know the band is somewhat popular, has a giant discography and has been on the site for a very long time. From what I've heard of them they're pretty terrible so I can't say I'm sorry to see them go :P

I've never even listened to the project (well, apart from the few supposedly metal samples I checked recently) and don't know it outside of its history here. I've heard some bad things too, though.

For all those who might mourn the loss of the extensive discography and general info, Alhadis saved all that for his upcoming Tome of Noise database project.

Torment (Brazil)

Could be merged with In Torment (Brazil).

Minor name modification.

Bulgarian bands Amadeus and Taran deleted. Both were only featured on a V/A comp-tape.

Another drone band to report: Qhwertt

This is not as clear-cut a case as Hlidolf as there actually are some metal elements, but they're so few and far between the "atmospheric" keyboard stuff and the one-note-drones that you can't really call them predominant.

Brachialilluminator has been deleted. Not really avant-garde metal but experimental stuff that happens to have some metal from time to time simply because of how random it is.

Is a black metal 1994 tape released to 9 hand numbered copies and now re-released in 2012 (don't know to how many though) not enough for a band's approval?

You wrote "Recorded in Phlegm Studio in 1994. Re-released to 9 hand-numbered copies #DRT24 by Deathrare Tapes in 2012." in the submission. So that's the information I went with. And no, that kind of silly limitation does not count as a valid, public release here.

Also, you're in the wrong thread. Post your response here: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=64985

Sorry for causing you trouble, but you don't have to talk in an attacking tone, as in the email.
Thanks for the information of the silly limitation. I only have a doubt,
what number of copies would be enough for you to consider it as a valid release?

Warfront

and Southern Warfront
http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Sou ... ont/121632

possibly could be merged too.

I just saw the thread on Arditi and it reminded me that I wanted to bring them up before. You see, Puissance for example I consider metal-relevant because they sound like a symphonic black metal band without the black metal and because their whole image is clearly primarily geared at metal fans. Arditi however is pure martial industrial for a martial industrial audience, it doesn't really try to have any relation to the metal scene and I don't think they are a valid side-project in that respect.

A bunch of videos of them performing their music.

The korean vocalist is very funny...
And yes, musically I doubt this band has enough 'metalness' to stay, don't you think the same?

^removed that band.

Got rid of Xtaodecas - Non-metal drone/noise, hardly a valid release with digital demos and full-lengths limited to 30 and 21 copies. Side project of a nobody.

I don't know what these guys sounded like in 2005 but the last two releases are more like Queens of the Stone age and nothing like metal at all.

Agreed. Even if that split and the demo were metal enough (which I doubt), it's one full-length and one split against one split with a single song and a shaky-looking demo. I'll nuke it.

Based on rules. Because the genre...no defined style. Some songs rooted on alternative rock/mallcore, others on eletronic music, grunge, death/thrash... "freak miscellaneous"

Decameron from Japan...I am not really sure how this band qualifies as metal. Here are some of their songs.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=kZHRLsTus6E#t=26s
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rZXAmQLwelw
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gk0klpGKzjA
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIdCTFT-Q7w

This stuff is even more blatantly not metal

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gg2iBz0NEEQ
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rTrXMG2K4ms

This sounds more like 80s AOR or soft rock than actual heavy metal.

Deleted Sinful Oath. No valid releases, only a demo song and a Satyricon cover.
