I'm not exaggerating, I think this song might be a Guitar Pro file. The "guitars" sound like the "realistic sound" you can apply to the MIDI.

I... actually kind of enjoy it. It's almost chiptune death metal. I hope it's just a demo version or a one-off, though, because I don't think I'd want a whole album sounding like this. I'm not going to be one of the guys who points to Rad a Trest or one of the other albums and say this or that is what the band "should" sound like; the band can do whatever the hell they want, stylistically speaking. I just don't want to get hyped for an LP that sounds like a demo recording.

Have you even heard their demo material?! I mean, it sounds like an under-produced shitpile, and yet it's still miles away in quality of what this... thing... is! A whole album? My synapses virtually halted with only four fucking minutes! :grr:

I honestly feel really bad about disliking this, because they're obviously a talented band and I imagine they're already going through enough with one of the members developing schizophrenia, but... god, this song really isn't good at all. :( I'd hate to be the band right now, if they're reading all this criticism it must be like a punch in the gut to try your hardest in the face of illness and still come up horribly short.

I really, really enjoyed this song. Super weird sound for sure, but I don't know... It just works for me.

Hahaha, I actually like this. In a more entertaining world, music like this would be the contemporary analogy to what sloppy South American black/thrash bands played with drum machines in the 80's. I would definitely listen to a full album of this, especially since the writing itself isn't so robotic.

EDIT: Listened to it twice now. The "La, la, la la-la la-la" part kills me. This is going to be amazing.

This is like introducing yourself to Metallica by hearing St. Anger. Do your ears a favor and try this:

i'm hoping this is just a troll by the band to laugh at people's reactions...

the actual song isn't half bad, if it was just played/sung for real with proper sounds

Which "grind geeks" have you heard talking about this? Because I don't think they're actually into grindcore at all...

Wow, so it really is that bad. Talk about a fall from grace. The worst part is the lack of harsh vocals. Everything's pretty lame, though.

I feel the need to reiterate earlier suspicions/guesses that this is just the Guitar Pro file for the song with demo vocals recorded. For those unfamiliar with the program, it's basically a tool that helps you write out music/guitar tabs but the actual sound output is essentially MIDI type sounds and/or really shitty synths.

Here's another song someone did in Guitar Pro:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pHZwBXO7wHY

So yeah, obviously it sounds retarded and is not a finished product unless the band is seriously insane or trolling.

I dont know guys, but I have been at their last show and the overall sound was very much in the style of that single. You can see/listen it yourself: http://youtu.be/0P-EImhBF9s

The fact that people want it to be what they expected so bad, that they would delude themselves into thinking that it's a demo, cracks me the fuck up. :D :D :D

The released track sounds like it was done in guitarpro. The live set does not. It may be stylistically similar (which I'm okay with, the live set seemed fine), but the fact remains that the "studio track" doesn't sound like there were any real instruments.

With the last lineup, or are Wokis and Freedom back in? Wokis just got around to releasing a full length as Duobetic Homunkulus, and it's some weird shit. But not bad.

I've noticed that as well. Do you have a link for the album, or at least some songs? I'm rather curious about it.

Indeed, some songs can be heard on their usual pages. This sounds even wackier than !T.O.O.H.!, more along the lines of Melancholy Pessimism's wackiness. I'll have to dig into this.

Welp, the album has been put up for download by the band here. My computer's acting odd so I can't download/listen to it, but apparently it's a "DIY electro concept" album. No CD release is planned by the band.

I'm listening to it now, haven't gotten past "Právo" yet which we've obviously already heard but even that's sounding quite a bit better so far. I hate to be that guy who's like "JUST BE OPEN-MINDED AND LISTEN TO IT UNTIL IT CLICKS", because that guy always fucking sucks, but I think this seriously might just have needed to marinate for a while for me. We'll see how the rest of the album holds up.

Yeah, tracks 2 and 3 still sound like the same basic stuff. The second one in particular sounds more like a hazy synth-based take on a brutal death metal song. It's actually surprisingly refreshing, I've been burnt out on metal to a certain extent lately and I really appreciate the idea to make an album of what's basically metal but comprised of an entirely different set of sonic textures. Interesting, to say the very least.

Man, this version of Pravo sounds way more well-developed. It's not just me with shit-tinted glasses on the past, right?

I'm actually kind of digging this. It's definitely wacky as fuck, and bound to piss some folks off, but there's definitely something here that I enjoy. Gotta love those Slavic harmonies, too. I just wish I could read/understand Czech...

To be honest I was actually expecting something weirder. This sounds almost like an alt rock version of the band with blast beats and a trippy filter. It's not outright atrocious but it is indeed a strange listen. It sounds only marginally like the band's early stuff though, and as I said it's much more "rock out" than bluntly brutal. With that being said I'm not feeling any love for this, and the vocals are pretty much cringeworthy.

If some of you dig this then you should probably listen to Duobetic Homunkulus, who now have the full album available to stream at their Bandcamp page.

I...I can't believe it. !T.O.O.H.! records a new album and IT SUCKS?!

No. No, the rest of the songs have to be better...they just have to be.

*checks out the rest of the album*

I like the new album for what it is. Whatever it is. Somebody called it outsider death metal, that's an interesting way of framing it. But it does get a little repetitive, they're using the same sound asset and tempo way too much.

With a different vocal style and better production there might be some decent songs in here. The composition of the music is at least interesting.

But goddamn those are some shitty vocals and some crappy production.

Boy, this is indeed a strange listen. 4 tracks into the album at the moment and I'm not sure how I feel about this. It's got some fun parts but nothing praise worthy yet.
