Here's a list of the narrator declares the 25 most creepiest places on earth, and some are truly legit.

ha ha, Detroit is #13? Man, that's kinda harsh...

I've only been to Detroit once, and I was too young to remember much, but I would imagine that Detroit has plenty of nice, modern, thriving areas- just like most cities have blighted, neglected areas.

Anyone hear about that coal mining town in Pennsylvania which they abandoned after an underground coal seam caught fire? The whole town is empty, and there are areas there where noxious gas will vent from the ground and suffocate people.

That list is quite interesting, although I'm surprised Chernobyl/Pripyat isn't higher. The very idea of a completely abandoned 50,000 city... I'm seriously considering going there once, I'm just unsure if the radiation, even if apparently safe now, may not have any health risks.

Speaking of American locations, I just remembered Centralia, Pennsylvania. You know a place is creepy when the makers of the Silent Hill film used it as a direct inspiration.

Poveglia was a subject of obsession for me about a decade ago. I remember the blog of some guy who had snuck over there for fun, a detailed account complete with pictures. The most chilling ones were of large boiler tanks, big enough to fit humans inside, with parts of prayers scratched into the inside of them.

Yeah, Centralia- that's the place I was trying to think of earlier.

Idaho has a couple old mining towns that are mostly deserted and half in ruins, except with maybe a dozen or so residents. And while these are strange places to visit- the people there live mostly "off the grid" and tend to be the stereotypical "crazy mountain man" types- these towns are not so much "Creepy" as just off the beaten path, and definatly odd. Silver City, Idaho and Warren, Idaho for instance, are accessible only by snowmobile and helicopter in the wintertime.

A woman called the "toxic lady" entered a hospital and died shortly after. All people who had contact with her became ill aswell, as if she was toxic.
This article is even more detailed but imho worth the read: http://discovermagazine.com/1995/apr/analysisofatoxic493#.Ua4bgZyy0m8

Yeah, I was living in LA when this happened, and it was pretty big news at the time.

Ah, historical mystery people!

I nominate this guy: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Man_in_the_Iron_Mask

Seeing this post, I must mention Count of St. Germain. I am really fascinated by that person because of his alleged abilities. He was a good painter and musician an he was engaged in Alchemy.
This mystical man is said to have lived for centuries. No one really knows when he was exactly born and his death is also shrouded in mystery.
Is he still alive? Maybe St. Germain is really immortal or at least not aging, who knows.

While I understand the fascination with various creepy or potentially paranormal subjects, in my opinion certain factual human enterprises are more creepy. Particularly, anything or anyone that works behind the scenes to profoundly influence world opinion or events. I am thinking especially of Soviet-era "active measures." Examples of active measures by the KGB which still influence public opinion in the U.S. and elsewhere include the proliferation of JFK and Martin Luther King Junior assassination theories, the theory that HIV was invented by the U.S. military at Fort Detrick, and the proliferation of anti-Israel/anti-Semitic propaganda in the Middle East. All have more or less been confirmed to have originated from Moscow, though not necessarily conceived there.

I've always liked a good UFO story too. Most are bullshit, of course. I believe a better understanding of the Earth's magnetic field and perhaps how it interacts with the Sun's magnetic field will go a long way towards explaining most sightings. The combination of large volumes of odd light sightings with the occasional coincidence of odd lights and simultaneous failure of electronic instruments makes it all but certain that even the more credible UFO sightings are just some unknown electromagnetic phenomenon.

This is one of the few genuinely perplexing UFO incidents.

Maybe a giant cat killed them?

This case I found particularly creepy.

Guy kept claiming he was the kid's father, and may or may not have killed him. CREEPY stuff right there.

I'd mention Edgar Cayce, but then I came across this "Edgar Cayce Obama prediction" that some claim predicts Obama is the last president... except that this "prediction" only surfaced in recent months and has no historical basis.
So I'll skip the Prediction Crew for today and move to this

Spiral over Norway. At night, there was a bizarre spiral UFO/wormhole over the Norwegian night sky.

Did I mention it's night? Just making sure.
Spoiler
Spoiler: show
It's a missile failure. As usual, the Illuminati camp wants to deny this. Despite this, it still looks wicked cool and there are close to 10? 12? different camera angles so it's not CGI or a hoax.

Girl "cries" crystals.

This one is just plain weird

Seems as though he was some sort of sociopathic idiot savant.
Quite an interesting read, nonetheless.

"We have all heard of the mysterious Count of St Germain but not many of us are as familiar with the Countess of Desmond as people were in her time. The countess (Katherine Fitzgerald) died in the early 17th century and was reputed to be over 140 years old at the time. No one knows how this mysterious woman lived to such an age but she was very well known- so much so that she is mentioned by both Francis Bacon and Sir Walter Raleigh.

Bacon has this rather bizarre thing to say about her: “They tell a tale of the old countess of Desmond who lived till she was seven score years old, that she did [grow teeth] twice or [three times]; casting her old teeth, and other coming in their place.” Her death is rumored to have been from a fall when climbing a tree to gather nuts – not due to old age. Who this mysterious woman was and how she lived so long has remained a mystery since."

Here's another one related to UFO's, and yet more evidence they are probably an unexplained electromagnetic phenomenon, or collection of unexplained electromagnetic phenomena.
