Please send GuardAwakening a message regarding bands getting to classify their own release types. He just changed all the Disfiguring the Goddess full-lengths to EPs because they're short and I've seen him do this at least once before in the past.

EDIT: xaero317 is doing it too.

How can someone complete a lineup with all the roles unknown?

Be careful with this user, I think he is guessing all the lineups.

Then I humbly suggest you be more specific next time rather than saying "the usual", especially since guesswork line-ups are the next most common point-whoring issue. :p

http://www.metal-archives.com/users/Antioch

This user seems to be unnecessarily changing the capitalisation of track and album titles. It was brought to my attention when he changed the capitalisation on several releases of a band I'm in:
http://www.metal-archives.com/albums/Ho ... ure/388489
http://www.metal-archives.com/albums/Ho ... ger/388502

He changed the capitalisation so that it's not only different from what the band has put on all their websites, but also from what's actually on the album cover itself.

When I checked his profile, it seems that he does TONS of this, simply collecting points by changing the capitalisation of various titles (which often is different from what the band themselves have indicated on their releases).

His changes are right, you reversing them is wrong.

Sorry, but I'm IN THE BAND. This is how THE BAND has decided that things are capitalised/punctuated and how it appears on all official releases and merch. This is how these releases exist in the real world, and not how one person has decided that they should be on a website. I thought that the Metal Archives is a repository of accurate information regarding metal releases. Surely this would include all punctuation/capitalisation as shown on all official releases.

This isn't just about the incorrect changing of my band's releases, but also and more so, about the fact that someone is systematically doing this to collect points. Just a quick overview of his modification history shows that this is a recurring thing for him. It is NOT up to him to decide what is grammatically correct (or not) as far as how a band chooses to spell/present their material, especially when it seems to be just for the purpose of collecting points.

No! Proper grammar rules are to decide what is grammatically correct, regardless of how you want the titles spelled.

It has nothing to do with grammar, it's just an orthographical standard we (try to) follow. Check this thread, apokalyptika.

http://www.metal-archives.com/users/SoldierOfHate is adding tons of line-ups in a row ....

He also added (some weeks ago) track lengths 1 by 1 but also listed artists in album line-ups without adding them on the main page, which is annoying ....

Thank you, that link is really helpful. For some reason it hadn't come up when I did a search in regards to capitalisation (instead, this thread came up and that's why I posted here thinking it was a problem). Would it be appropriate to debate some of the issues I have in regards to this there, or is it not worth it since that that thread turned mainly into capitalisation as applied to other languages?

Not a very active member but http://www.metal-archives.com/users/Iainswagyolo vandalized the profile of http://www.metal-archives.com/artists/Iain_Muir/88873 by adding stupid shit

You can bring up special/ambiguous cases of capitalisation and inquire about how to proceed, but be aware that I just don't see this applying here. It's a simple case where prepositions and conjunctions are capitalised (or rather not) according to a standard for composition titles. In trivial cases such as this we favour the standard over any artistic intent.

Some staffers looked this up when the note was first added and discovered that it was actually true. I dimly remember some account on a gay porn site that was undeniably him. As for the relevance of this for the trivia section... well, it's undoubtedly interesting trivia to many, but I don't care much either way.

Well, that guy's intention was obviously vandalism as he also added "Glasgeughew" as a place of origin and 1907 as a birth date (under his another account, Vadok).
