I became addicted to the last album of burzum, Sôl Austan, Mâni Vestan. I try to research some ambient bands and some ambient black but i didn't find some band sound similar to this album. I'm trying to listen bands with synth and no vocals. So can anyone recommend songs (or bands) that make music like this album? No vocals, only instrumental. Thanks

The obvious answer is, are you familiar with the dungeon synth genre? Most of Burzum's ambient/synth work is related to that scene, though his stuff tends to sound a bit spacier than most DS artists, and that album in particular has some different sounds creeping in. Here's a few artists to get you started:

Mortiis
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6DbfxHTHswo
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RSGkfMjQT5w

Erang
http://erang.bandcamp.com/

Til Det Bergens Skyggene
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AO-69StIDck

Have a trawl through the dungeon synth tag on BandCamp:

Glad to be of help. Happy exploring! The scene has enjoyed a resurgence in recent years mainly due to the Dungeon Synth Blog (now more or less defunct sadly), but other resources have sprung up and are helping to promote and develop the scene. Personally, I think it has become a bit too over-saturated now, but at least there is a good variety of artists and releases to choose from.

Here are a few good sources of information:

I've recently starting liking more electronic music, and I also came across this...
Does anyone know a band, scene (anything) that will help me find more music like:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i0xp41SSeCs

I suppose that's a theme from some movie, but I'd prefer rec's not to be. It also doesn't need to be evil-sounding.

Zombi is your friend.
http://zombi.bandcamp.com/

Some of their stuff features bass and drums, but it's all synth-driven worship of 70s/80s horror and sci-fi soundtracks. Check out the "Zombi Anthology" of their early EPs too, if you can find it.

The guys at Cave Evil are really into dungeon synth and have their own tape that you're supposed to play with their game. It's obviously the most metal game ever made and the music's cool too if you're into it. Haven't had a chance to play the game yet, but it's ridiculously cool.

Hey guys, if you're into really nice simple piano/ambient instrumental tracks you should consider checking out the tumbled sea.

https://futurerecordings.bandcamp.com/a ... umbled-sea

Future recordings are doing a kickstarter to get some of the tumbled sea's stuff pressed and a CD put out and there's only four more days so I figured I'd share it here in case anyone was interested in promoting this!
I've been a long time fan and I really want this shit funded!

Here's the link to the kickstarter if anyones interested.

Cool, I thought that would be what you were after! One of Zombi's biggest influences was Goblin, but I confess I have never really explored their stuff so I don't know to what degree they sound
like them.

I also think you would like the whole Berlin School of Electronic Music scene. Artists like Klaus Schulze, Tangerine Dream, Ashra etc.

So I'm rather interested in finding some 'electronic dance/metal' type thing. All I've found so far is this
Arktida - Active Line http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IMGq0JyYci0

I also found a band called Amaranthe...but they are kind of like the fat chick of what I'm looking for. If you really want something, but can't get anything good, you reluctantly settle.

Thanks in advance :)

Now I shall cruise the forums and help someone else as rightful duty!

Troum is a wonderful project and that album is awesome. Unfortunately (?) they're rather unique (their instrumental, monumental approach isn't particularly popular, it would seem) and it's hard to find much that sounds like Troum outside of their own catalogue. Their previous, much-hallowed outfit Maeror Tri has some material that's somewhat similar, and is excellent stuff in any case.

I'd recommend you look into Troum's collaboration with Reutoff, Kreuzung Zwei: Creatura per Creaturam Continetur, as well as Sigqan, Sen, and the Tjukurrpa trilogy.

Allseits' Hel is also a grand piece of instrumental dark ambient that's in a similar vein and pretty top-notch to boot.

I made a thread a while back about this, but didn't get much response

I'm looking for some dark, folky ambient drone. Lots of long songs, filled with darkness and sadness. Lots of droning, long winded songs with lots of longing violins and noisey, out of place guitars. Lots of noise, vocals optional.

Here are some examples:

Natural Snow Buildings: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cB4FLr1j9YQ

Isengrind: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dgflPiWa840

Mirroring: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cTcRCV6fXDY

Any recs greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Shpongle was exactly what I was looking for.

Do you guys know of something similar but with more tribal influences? (Percussion, etc).

Not quite the same as Shpongle, but for tribal-influenced techno/trance check out The Ambush, one of the many aliases of German producer Oliver Lieb. It's one of my favourite electronic albums of all time.

I'm looking for something similar to that kind of dark electro: http://soundcloud.com/vhornets/inxera-s ... eturn-void

I haven't found anything quite like it. A good vibe, dark, no glitch, no techno repetitiveness...

Anything with a lot of organ drones? Can be any style, but the only well known example I can think of is Sunn O)))'s "Why Dost Thou Hide Thyself in Clouds?"

Nice to find a fellow Natural Snow Buildings fan. Here are some recs, provided you're flexible on the violin part (a lot of drone-folk favors guitars).

Charalambides are a bit sparser and less noisy, but they might fit into the melancholic folk-ambient drone vibe you're looking for: http://youtu.be/PQ4KKdSwcPE

Christina Carter (of Charalambides) has some solo stuff that's worth checking out: http://youtu.be/62F4MI-5U8A

And Grouper, though I assume you've already been there: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sCOgvAIL3_U

Flying Saucer Attack is a bit more on the shoegaze end (i.e., more noise): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OgiUDmOTKck

Along the same vein are Yellow Swans: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dmwyj4DvOO4

Six Organs of Admittance might also fit the bill: http://youtu.be/0cuJOWFfm8w

And perhaps Mount Eerie: http://youtu.be/MhPGJQAHT1E

Rafael Anton Irisarri has some really beautiful drone pieces: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bo-b_TAeTw

I think Benoit Pioulard's stuff that he released as Benoit Honore Pioulard has the instrumentation you're looking for: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W9O32i9WeUM

Last, but certainly not least, the Japanese artist L: http://youtu.be/087ka2YFsxM

Just thought I'd give my neofolk / postrock EP some shameless self-promotion.
Inspirations include Árstíðir, Blueneck, Ólafur Arnalds, Her Name Is Calla and Vàli; also includes trappings of neoclassical, electronic music and dark ambient. Available for free download here:

Anything like Still Corners? Melodic, dreamy, and soft female vocals with poppy electronic instrumentation. Simple and catchy melodies, etc. A darker tone is preferred. Kind post-punk meets nu-disco?

Maybe you'd like to check the some of these stuff:
Asobi Seksu
Purity Ring
Grimes

And finding more stuff like that, please give me a shout =)

This probably has a genre name or something (I'm a total noob on the electronic front), but I'm looking for more of this:

TC - Where's My Money? (Caspa remix)

So I guess I'm looking for a slow, bouncy beat with a catchy tune and dubsteppy elements.

This works too:

Benny Page & Zero G - Pan Pipes - Digital Soundboy

I was recently introduced to the wonderfully sweaty, homoerotic world of anhalt EBM... Minimal, oldschool, bonehead music that shirtless men like to grind each other's black denim-clad ballsacks together to:

God, I fucking love this shit! It's great music to work out to, yet equally suited to smoking meth or browsing skinhead fetish websites.

Only thing is, I've only found a handful of artists that have really jumped out at me. I like most of what I've heard, but I'm wondering where to go for more stuff specifically like Stechschritt, with stupidly simplistic-yet-catchy, arpeggiated basslines repeated ad nauseam, vocalists shouting in thick Germanic/Scandinavian accents about muscles and beer and unity and lifting weights, and not a lot a lot of unnecessary musical flourishes. I'd prefer stuff that's not super "chav-y", but which still manages to be kinda knuckle-draggingly "tuff" and smutty, if that makes any sense.

Even more minimalistic stuff is welcome, too. As long as it's got uptempo, short, stabby basslines and minimal production in terms of excessive overdubs and unnecessary samples and vocal effects, I'll probably like it. I don't want a bunch of "plinky" atmospheric synth elements and stuff like that (this song is a good example of what I mean by "plinky" and full of way too many overdubs, samples and too much signal processing).

SWEAT WITH ME.

Not quite as dark and it's a bit faster, but I saw this band (artist I suppose) with Mogwai about a month ago, and I feel like this seems along the lines of what you're looking for.

Also, I've been getting into psytrance, psydub, and downtempo electronic music a lot lately..
Saw Shpongle at Red Rocks in May, and that was mindblowing. Ever since I've been hooked.

I know a few great artists, like Hallucinogen, 1200 Mics, OTT, Entheogenic, Aes Dana, Globular, Radioactive Sandwich... but beyond that, I don't really know many. Can anyone give me some good suggestions?

Also if there are any suggestions for jazzy post-rock similar to Do Make Say Think or the really powerful soundscapes of This Will Destroy You's "Tunnel Blanket" album it would be greatly appreciated. I've come to a bit of a halt with finding great post-rock.
