I'm a pretty big fan of most classic prog rock bands, but here's a new band that fits more into the spacerock/stoner side of things that I really enjoy: http://ampacity.bandcamp.com/
Ultima Hombre is such a well made track, and the other two are pretty great also.

I'll admit that it's been time I would constantly listen to Prog, but I love it, favorite genre! First band I got into was Camel, and I still love them. I think Andrew Latimer is one of the best guitarists out there. Other bands I like are Enchant, Spock's Beard, King Crimson, Hatfield & The North, The Alan Parson's Project, Pendragon, Marillion, Egg, etc. etc. etc.

Here are three videos I would like to share:

This is Math Rock, so I don't know if you guys consider it Prog:
Spoiler: show

Here is a band that should be known:
Spoiler: show

And lastly, fucking Hiromi's Sonicbloom
Spoiler: show

I'm a huge fan of proggy music, big chords, complex rythms, abstrac musical themes and that kind of stuff. I'm more into modern bands like Porcupine Tree, Karnivool, Tool, Rishloo, The Aristocrats and Circa Survive (Not that proggy though) the only ones I listen from 70's prog rock are Rush and Pink Floy...

Lately I've been a lot into this band Junius, kind of proggy post-rock with a special focus on the vocals which appeals to me a lot, another one in the same vein is Constants have anyone of you heard of them?

There are some obvious mentions like Yes and Rush which must be marvelously popular with metalheads.

I personally have always been a fan of Todd Rundgrens over the top stuff including Utopia, his prog jam band that was notorious for having great liver performances. His album Initiation has some great long synth-rich prog songs, and the second half of the album is this 25 minute long orchestrated rock instrumental, it's something else. Pretty unique for its time.

Opeth - Pale Communion (sorry for the massive picture)

this album is progressive rock and i love it.

when i saw opeth live they only played eternal rains will come and the rest were mostly heavy songs.

Ive also recently listen to a bit of Nightingale and it can so far say it is very good quality progressive rock with some heavy metal elements weaved into it.

Gonna come out and say it. I think prog rock is better than prog metal by miles. Though I live Voivod and Fates Warning there's just nothing quite as magical as 1970s prog rock and its relatives like Krautrock, Zuehl, and progressive electronic.

Can = best band ever :)

One of the great thing about Can is that they have so many hidden gems within bootlegs and compilations. Even people who say they love Can are probably overlooking a ton of their best material.

Stop spamming this thread with BS posts. This isn't your personal medium within to vent your vacuous, inane musings.

I've kinda been into The Alan Parsons Project lately. If anybody's looking for a good album, I highly recommend Tales of Mystery and Imagination. It's centered around the works of Edgar Allan Poe, and it's really a great listen.
