Is it still metal enough? Any chance you could send the recordings this way for its inclusion to the Archive?

There's a rule about awful bands somewhere, someplace... I just know it.

If it's metal enough, TGW will take care of it, Ksevile. ;)

Someone has to do that work.

It's not death metal, either.

Ah, okay! Well it was worth a shot, although probably not in the band's case.

I still think it is probably acceptable. I want to listen to it a few more times.

So, I'll be starting with a new company in June, which will leave me with a higher level of disposable income. I'd be willing to gamble on some of the tapes from Neseblod, but I'm not entirely clear on how he does pricing. What is he normally asking with these tapes? I see a number with "NOK" or "BUD/BID" on them.

Satori subbed.

Terribly bland groovy heavy metal with some chuggy thrash tossed in, for the most part.

Also, it's like 50 minutes fucking long.

Man, that is three obscure Wisco bands in the last few weeks. Time to start digging even more, thanks for the heads up ksevile. Uploading the cassette rip (minus a song, I think) to mediafire for you right now. You'll be disappointed.

Can moderators accept .rar files as proof of metalness in the entry notes field when adding a band? In other words, I just wouldn't want to cause any unnecessary trouble in getting the band accepted cause I'm not too familiar myself with rar files and how they operate. Thank you for the link, additionally, Wombat.

Not sure what's hard to grasp with rar files? But yeah, we accept them for proof of release. It needs to be uploaded somewhere (mediafire, dropbox...) so we can download it, of course.

I'm partial to the dropbox account over mediafire or some other similar site. Various places block mediafire, sendspace, zippyshare etc... I've yet to see dropbox being blocked. I speak of this only because I download the files at work and I know I can't get to the other file sharing sites.

Ive tried to open them before and was unable to and had to get winrar and still was not able to access them. Don't you need additional software to open and access them? I could upload what Wombat sent me to Dropbox instead I suppose if that is preferred that should be fine.

In this most recent case, I sent the .rar directly to Azzy.

Ok, so I realize now that Neseblod lists prices in Norwegian Krone. I went through and compiled a list of prices based on Halloween's list of possible hits. It's linked below. There are a small handful of releases that are available for relatively low prices, including two under $10 US, but most of them are "Bid/Offer" items that he wants abhorrently high prices for.

I wouldn't buy the Asmorod demo as its not metal and is easily found online. I should have made an individual post. Which I will do now!

Not Metal - Mostly Ambient. - Asmorod / Needs research. - Chasms of Malice (black metal?/ambient, France)
-Promo-tape '95 (1995, Tape)

At one time, I saw this split on ebay (here) and I forgot to bid on it. It was listed as black metal and the Asmorod side had a Beherit cover. Good thing I was kinda nuts about backing up pictures a couple years ago so we have the ebay image:
http://i.imgur.com/BDBtEs0.jpg

The demo on Neseblod does have 3 metal tracks out of 7, so there is a possibility the split could be fully metal. See track 2, 4, and 8 here. I really don't know anything about the Chasms of Malice side, though.

There was a review in Wallachian Tyrant 'Zine 1, but that isn't online either.

If someone wants to give it a shot, Asmorod is on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/pages/asmorod/106258638928

The split promo with Chasms Of Malice is not listed on Asmorod's Discogs.compage and I could not find any info about it online except for the review already posted, but the band has a Bandcamp page, so maybe someone can find something useful there: https://asmorod.bandcamp.com/
https://www.discogs.com/artist/49863-Asmorod

PaganiusI wrote:
As for Asmorod. The demo has 2 songs that seem to be pre-dominantly metal and one that has metal bits, the rest is Dungeon Synth for the vast majority. (black) Metal takes up maybe 1/3 of the release. Given that the rest of the discography is pure Ambient/Electronic stuff, that's far from enough. A 3 track promo split isn't gonna change that, so they get scratched aswell. Chasms of Malice will stay though.

It could've been a pre-MC project - can't find anything that says 1995 anyway. I've sent an email to Damond Good via Cauldron Black Ram's Bandcamp, but I don't think he'll be responding any time soon. A FB search might yield better results. Nick Hansen, Ben(jamin) Petch, Damond Good. Something you may have already done I believe, but I thought it'd never hurt to say it.

I have two metal demo tapes that aren't on the site. Unfortunately, I can't upload audio at this time.

Added. 1. Slayground - s/t
Spoiler: show
https://www.discogs.com/Slayground-Slayground/release/7317224
A1 Blind Fear
A2 Never Fuckin' Die
A3 Empty Head
A4 What You See
(same tracks on other side)
Bass – Mike Stark
Drums – Don Nudi
Guitar – Michael Murphy, Steve Samlow
Vocals – Ken Sexton
There is a phone number and address for booking in Evergreen Park, Illinois, which I can provide if necessary. Copyright 1994. It's definitely metal with really rough vocals. May have been recorded at Chicago Trax Recording Studio

Added. 2. Valhalla - Rip You in 2
Spoiler: show
https://www.discogs.com/Valhalla-Rip-You-In-2/release/8542744
A1 Taken From The Night
A2 Light Of Day
B1 Dead
B2 The Queen Had Died

Bass Guitar – Chuck Gonwa
Drums – Jason Parks
Lead Guitar – Eric Wilimczyk
Lead Vocals – Steve Ashum
Producer, Engineer – Joey Johns
From 1992, recorded at Reeldreams. These guys were from Orland Park, Illinois. I'm calling it metal because of the riffs, but an argument could be made for hard rock.

This is my first post on this site, so if anything else is needed, let me know.

Added. - Pichia's
Spoiler: show
Please help me with an obscure band from Argentina called Pichia's (from the mid-90's)

Here you have a picture of one of their 2 demos, as well as some info about the band and the "circle" it was involved in. (in Spanish-sorry). There's even a link with a rip of the actual music.
http://hungertransilvanian.blogspot.com ... andas.html

(Yeah of course there are no store links where you could buy the demo, it's a really limited release from the mid-90s, and from a country and region where Black metal has never been popular)

Band's been rejected once, I don't know what else I can provide as "proof"?

Haha, woops! I meant to buy a copy but it slipped my mind. It was also called "Wampyrs Dungeon" a few years back, so there might be a sample somewhere. Probably safe to trust the label's description because of the related bands, I would guess.

Here's a few ebay ones for you:

1. No Exit (listed as German progressive metal)
http://www.ebay.com/itm/172223440405?_t ... EBIDX%3AIT

I can't bear to spend $13 shipping on a $2 tape to the US. If anyone in the UK wants to take a shot - it's open for a few more hours.

2. Not a new Band but something interesting from a seller in Chile - that's not listed on the site.
Holy Mother - http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Holy_Mother/4654
Demo from 1995 here
http://www.ebay.com/itm/122004885277?_t ... EBIDX%3AIT

3. Black Witch Messiah - No genre listed
http://www.ebay.com/itm/222141914536?_t ... fresh=true

Not sure if that's the name of the band, or the band is Black Witch and the tape is Messiah. There is a Black Witch on the blacklist as a heavy rock band from Australia. I have a bid on this one though.

4. Brunstock (listed as Black Metal)
http://www.ebay.com/itm/272244471695?_t ... EBIDX%3AIT

Love this guy selling - but if there's no MA page (as he puts in the auction) then it's suspect. Cover screams goth something...

5. Surrounded (listed as Heavy music with a bit of Hardcore and Thrash)
http://www.ebay.com/itm/231954307707?_t ... EBIDX%3AIT

Certainly not giving this a shot at $100. These people are fucking insane sometimes. Three dudes in my backyard doesn't mean this is a $100 tape.

6. Jimmy Packes (listed as Shred)
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Jimmy-Packes-Ax ... true&rt=nc

This is a sampler that No Exit zine put out, so nobody buy this unless you actually want it :). I actually have a copy of this and the zine, hah!

I'm familiar with this one too, that's Branstock, I guess the font is kind of confusing and that cover doesn't fit at all

This FB group might contain some unlisted NWOBHM: https://www.facebook.com/groups/120162115015194/ MA user Zygmunt is involved with it, or maybe even running it. He submits bands from there from time to time, but sometimes it's more hard rock than metal. Still, maybe some valid additions were overlooked.

Check this puppy out - certainly not going to spend $1000 bucks on this. I'm thinking of putting a best offer of $9.99 in. :)

Spooky: I sent a message to Curtis Scott Merrell to try to get more info. Since the eBay link is now expired, here is another link that shows proof of its' existence:

Please help me with an obscure band from Argentina called "Pichia`s" (from the mid-90's)

Here you have a picture of one of their 2 demos, as well as some info about the band and the "circle" it was involved in. (in Spanish-sorry). There's even a link with a rip of the actual music.

(Yeah of course there are no store links where you could buy the demo, it's a really limited release from the mid-90s, and from a country and region where Black metal has never been popular)

Band's been rejected once, I don't know what else I can provide as "proof"?

Sorry for bumping this but I never got a reply in the "why was band X not accepted" thread. Should I re-submit it/pm a mod/something else?
Also band's name is "Pichia`s" not "Pichia's" as changed by some user. It's not in English, it does not denote a possessive case or some abbreviation - I guess "Pichia's" could be added to the alt spell field though.

Hmmm...There's not much to go with here, and there might never be. Best thing would be scans of old reviews or interviews about that black metal circle. I guess it's the benefit of the doubt here. Go ahead and submit.

Edit: I just restored your old submission instead.

Tried submitting the band, but was rejected with this note attached:
"Where can this tape be purchased? Could you provide a link to where it can be purchased? Do any distros/labels/shops carry it?"

I also own a copy of the demo tape, but I'm not exactly sure where you can purchase it besides emailing the band directly.

The mod might have just missed that. Submit it again with that link still in it and just put a note in the submission notes that the tape is available on bandcamp.
