There is further evidence now that Power of Mirantic have copied lyrics and melodies from other bands. In addition to what I posted before, the band also copied lyrics and melodies from the band Between Two Worlds (the songs ''Oceans'' and ''Orphans'') on its most recent EP ''Weep''.

Therefor, I would like to ask the moderators to delete Power of Mirantic.

Hahaha, I love that you voted the two bands as "similar artists."

I consulted with Morrigan and, based on the evidence we have, the band likely does not have any original material. It's not like we would recognize the other songs, since these artists they're plagiarizing are rather obscure.

Power of Mirantic have been powered down.

Wow, that is certainly bizarre. Can't think of any precedent for this. Weird too, it's some obscure Indonesian band plagiarizing an obscure... Serbian

Since there's proof they plagiarized at least two different, unrelated, obscure artists, then we can't really trust that any of their material is original. Guess we'll delete them unless we get evidence that they got any original material at all, but that's gonna be really hard to prove.

Think about it; it's worth considering.

Any thoughts on this one? Slipped into oblivion or still under deliberation?

Great! :) Even the artists' pages look a lot neater this way.

Was this entry really necessary?
Atro >> Attro
It's such a minor name change, and the demo has long been listed on the latter's page.

There is little Melodic Black Metal on their only release except for a few seconds on the last few songs.

Experimental Post Rock is the genre IMO, thus I would not even include this band in EM since it has too little metal.

Thus I suggest deleting the band.

Hmmm, actually you may be right. I'll get to fix that later.

About a year ago, my reporting of Symphony of Sorrow's genre prompted a brief discussion as to whether or not the band deserves to be on the archives. Zodijackyl and I deemed a good share of the music to be Groove Metal (or Alternative Metal), but all too many songs are alt rock, and even the Metal veers dangerously close towards mallcore.

To me, Symphony of Sorrow sounds like a white nationalist Drain STH, especially on account of that dreadful yarling (yeah, that's redundant) and groovy/grungey riffs. Grunge is one of those very ambiguous genres with garage/indie/punk/alt rock bands on one side and more Metal influenced bands on the other, so an assessment of their music would be appreciated.

Regardless of whether it's Metal or not...

The band INZIERTO
http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Inzierto/3540381045

Is a grunge/punk band with little-to-zero metal riffs.
The slow parts sound very much like Nirvana's Bleach album while the fast bits are reminiscent to D.R.I. when they were still a thrashcore band. Most of their songs are mid-paced. There are Melvins moments too..

Even if the band remains, I think the genre is very far away from what they really play.

Here's their bandcamp which contains all their songs.:

Deleted Orcses, most probably no valid release, only a demo for digital stream and/or download.

Good luck getting any of those deleted, especially the household names. I'm surprised you mention Despised Icon and Whitechapel, their debut albums are great examples of deathcore that has death metal riffs out the wazoo.

So I asked about this one or two years ago, but never got an answer: why are Devil Sold His Soul included? I still haven't heard a lot of their material prior to Empire of Light, which is an outstanding post-hardcore album...but to my ears, only by post-hardcore standards. It's barely sludgy (if at all) and is a very far cry from other post-metal acts like Cult of Luna, Isis, and Minsk. It's heavy for the kind of mid-tempo post-hardcore that they make, but that's about all I can say about it. Belong ╪ Betray isn't much different.

Is there something in their older catalogue that I've missed?

Oblivion Echo
Released a 3-track demo.

- Sample full song with only one distorted fill
- Interview describing the sound/instrumentation. It raises a lot of doubt.

Subway to Sally have been reassessed and deleted for reasons similar to those behind In Extremo's removal. Let me know if anyone is missing any reviews.

EDIT: The same fate has befallen Schandmaul. Quite blatantly not metal, probably the clearest case yet.

hm, maybe. You're right that the genre needs changing, at the very least.

Gatherum, I have deleted Devil Sold His Soul. I agree with your description.

Deleted Saltatio Mortis as part of our medieval rock/metal purge. Even though their 2013 album comes quite close to being acceptable, not a single release manages to consistently sideline the folk/rock in favour of actual metal. It's quite disconcerting that they were approved based on either or both of their first two albums, which contain less metal than that prison they built for Magneto.

Whatever the band calls their sound means nothing at all, just FYI. I close a half dozen reports a day of people claiming wrong genre with the only "evidence" being the band's Facebook description.

You'd be surprised how often bands totally miscategorize their sound, maliciously or otherwise.

Electric Chair
Bombastic guitars. Mostly rock riffs. Semi-metallic meanders. Metal-scene affinity.
3-song demo/EP:

Spoiler: show
Changed name to SonusVena, and have a valid release:
https://scontent-amt2-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/ ... e=587F09D5
5 new songs. Same style. Bands like these don't survive the submission queue anymore.

If the band's to stay, a tag like Symphonic Rock/Metal may be more fitting.

Yeah you´re right.. but again, can you elaborate how any single one of these bands is death metal? For example: will a band stay on metal archives, if their first album was death metal and the rest is nu metal?

Yes. What the band plays currently doesn't necessarily matter. One predominantly metal release that fits the requirements is all that is needed.

Deleted Nocturnal Delusion and Coffinfeeder (Aut), two old projects of Marko Köfler from Shores of Sheol and now Adder's Fork. Neither have a valid release, only a demo each circulated among friends on less then 10 CD-Rs (Coffinfeeder's was only one track too, made as a promo to find a drummer).

Deleted Pink Hellephant. Approved based on a single heavy metal/doom-ish song, but the rest of the discography is some kind of mellow alternative rock. Not even close.

Solstice Ritual http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Sol ... 3540410603. Two demos for a total of less than six minutes of music between them and only 33 copies between the two. I guess it could be considered raw as fuck black metal, each demo is two songs and the latter on each is just a noise outro. I'm finding it hard to get passed all the damn noise but there is some metal on the second demo. Here's the bandcamp link http://solsticeritual.bandcamp.com/album/demo-2

Yeah, I'm not convinced with the metalness/acceptability on that one. Tossed.
