I checked it. So far it's much better than Blissfucker but not as good as Darker Handcraft.

I'm about there meself. Definitely beats 'Bliss' but DH was brilliant. I suspect though a few tracks on the new CD are growers. I'm finding meself enjoying them more after a few listens.

Here's two cool Finnish crust bands:
Wind of Pain: I think they took their name from the first Bastard album. They sing in English.

Epäjärjestys: They sing in Finnish most of the time. The finnish languange is the best one suited for angry hardcore, no-one can swear like the finns (see last clip).

If the bands like Despise You, Man is the Bastard, Third World Planet, Infest etc. would sing in finnish, that would be the most brutal stuff ever.
:-D

Have you guys listened to the new Oathbreaker's album 'rheia'? that band should be added to the archives because this new record sounds like black metal. How can we try to convince admins to listen to that record?

I saw this record get a lot of hype, and I honestly was expecting some boring hipster stuff, but this was actually really good. I especially liked the vocals--lots of dramatic range from the frequent cleans to the insanely raw shrieks like near the end of "Second Son of R." I'm still not sure what the cover art is supposed to be though...

the new oathbreaker feels more black metal than it actually is riff wise. I think like 30% of the riffs max are black metal. A bit more "vague" genre wise than the debut thats for sure though. I like it save for that she tries a bit too hard to sound american to me. A bit more distant and "vague" genre wise than the debut thats for sure though.

I gotta listen to the new Oathbreaker, I don't have any of their stuff yet on this hard drive and that really needs to change.

Been listening to the Sune Studs Och Grönlandsrockarna Studio Discography (1981-1985) on repeat since i found it. Real shame no one plays this kind of hardcore punk anymore.

Here's some newer fastcore.
Hero Dishonest (Finland)

Christer Pettersson (Sweden) (From the 2015 10" split with Dudman)
https://christerpettersson.bandcamp.com/album/controlled-by-hatred

Wall of Trash (Japan ex-Conga Fury!)

And this shortlived Ukrainian PV/Fastcore band seems to be forgotten today. No idea what happened to these guys, released 3 EPs and a 7" split with American band Sidetracked and then nothing.
Gaz-66 Intrusion

went to bloodshed fest this weekend.
https://www.facebook.com/events/1066365026709729/

Some good gigs. Siege did not disappoint although the drum sound was off. Trap them was super vicious and the singer busted his ankle and got a big ass bruise above his right eye. Final weekend nachos show was great. The Afternoon Gentlemen destroyed as well as always. Soul Grip and Link were very pleasant surprises. To be honest the only gigs that didnt do it for me were Criminal Mind, Venom Prison and Grime.

Great lineup! I'll have to look into Soul Grip - not familiar with them.

No surprise 'Trap Them' destroyed it :)

Bifid Corpse - Dead & Decaying
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5sjftfz3rPw

Although they describe themselves as death metal/grindcore I'm not hearing it. Some sort of filthy, Swedeath influenced crusty hardcore that is beyond crushing.

Pretty excited to see Trap Them in November. The excellent Yautja (who are even better in my opinion) are touring with them. Dark Circles, our local blackened crust heroes, are opening.

its worth keeping track of the bands who play the fest, they are pretty much all handpicked by the organizers.

I mostly listen hardcore, crust, stenchcore, grindcore, thrashcore, powerviolence etc. Usually I'm stuck with these ''basic bands'' but sometimes it's good to hear more of these not so know bands.

Stenchore is heavy crust, bands like Deviated Instinct, Hellbastard, Instinct of Survival etc. Thrashcore can be count as proto grindcore, it's more primitive and less metallic. D.R.I.'s first two albums can be count as thrashcore, also bands like Lärm, Electro Hippies, Siege.

stenchcore is metallic crust in the style of axegrinder/amebix opposed to the more d-beat side of bands like DooM and Skitsystem.

Thrashcore is fast 80s american hardcore based essentially, D.R.I. and Lärm can be seen as pioneers. Some bands have took it to quite some distant stretches like Netjajev SS but a modern example of classic thrashcore is reproach.

The only band I've ever heard of using the term "stenchcore" is Deviated Instinct. Amebix never used it IIRC. If people are overusing the term now it's a recent internet-based phenomenon that means nothing really.

"Thrashcore" - more internet terminology. DRI and Larm would've been called just "hardcore" or "thrash". FYI Larm weren't American. They were from the Netherlands.

Stenchcore is a joke term invented by Deviated Instinct and people use it to describe the really metallic crust like on Gutteral Breath. Amebix obviously never used the term but their music can definitely be described as stenchcore. Hellshock is credited with repopularizing the term and sound in the early 2000s, and then bands like Sanctum, Stormcrow, Instinct of Survival and Swordwielder started playing in the same vein and occasionaly using the term. It's a term that should never really be taken seriously because it's tongue-in-cheek, but it is useful in describing an ultra specfic form of crust punk which has become an incredibly vague genre tag.

Thrashcore was also a synonum for hardcore punk and in the 80's it sometimes described hc bands that were faster, angrier, heavier etc like DRI, Lärm, Siege. I remember that some also called Mob 47 thrashcore. Well, genre this, genre that... still good music.

Most pissed off hardcore/pv you know about? Getting a bit tired of tech death as of late. Basically looking for stuff like Gaza, Cult Leader, Nails, Converge & Torch Runner.
