I agree wholeheartedly with Metantoine. It's not Metal, so the blacklist stays.

Hi guys,

Teethgrinder, which was blacklisted as non-metal grindcore. I think now they have a chance to be reevaluated as listening to their second full-length album. Please, let me know what you think, Thanks.

Is it possible to re-add a project which was previously blacklisted (?) due to 'not being metal enough' upon listening to a new release? Now I have released a digital release with newer stuff and I would just like to add the project here anyway. The project is called 'Molodost'.

Here's the link: https://molodost.bandcamp.com/

Inanicion from Guatemala is a Grindcore band, but has a lot of influence of metal https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0QMn4-CCYBE, so S.R.T. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=toR7SxBcvX4, I think they should by in the archives

Stvan from Guatemala has been blacklisted, I dont know why, they rejected the first time for no evidence of the released of the demo, but you need to contact the band for the demo, so I think this band should be in the archives

Why is Teramobil not on here? A band with a few musicians from other bands that are on here who play a similar style to those bands with the biggest difference being they're strictly instrumental but they're numerous bands here that are instrumental only so that can't been the reason...

Inanicion: Non-metal grindcore

Stvan: Blacklist note is vague but cites overuse of synth and not enough riffs

Teramobil: Technical nu-metal

You obviously have never heard them or don't know what nu-metal really is, because they sound nothing like that. The only part you got right is that they're technical.

Blacklist note in its entirety: "Technical nu-metal" with guitar wankery and blastbeats

Albeit this was blacklisted in 2013...

It was me who blacklisted them, though I don't remember the band. "Technical nu-metal" is probably referring to a later-Meshuggah soundalike. (don't take the term too seriously... :oh shit:)

Teethgrinder: Really not sure right now, still quite crust/grind-y. Probably no.

Molodost: That release does not sound predominantly metal.

Teramobil are instrumental djent. Those calling them "technical death metal" or whatever are obviously bullshitting their way through life.

Hello, I submitted the band Blunt Shovel, which was rejected due to the band's debut not being released yet. I've attached a photo of the Sampler the bands has distributed at shows - if this doesn't count, I'll just wait until the full release-date :)

Unacceptable gore/grind. I agree with the blacklisting.

hey guys i just wanted to to know why the band Dreamslain is blacklisted. Sounds very metal to me (melodic metal with some goth hints, though). here's the EP they released last week.

It's an old entry and says they're hard rock, but that's evidently not true (anymore). Is this even the same band? Whatever, whitelisted.

EDIT: Maybe the note was referring to this release: https://www.discogs.com/Dreamslain-Shad ... se/7114028 Same band, looking at the lineup.

Hi,

I hope I`m in the right place for this.
I tried to add a band - Body Void (Sludge Metal) from the US and it says they are blacklisted.
I dunno why...Metalness and releases are OK...maybe it`s outdated.
Can a moderator review them again please?

Bandcamp:
https://bodyvoid.bandcamp.com/

Thanks,
Anton.

They don't have any original releases under the new name. The EP is a re-release of the same material put out under the name Devoid.

Hey,
I added a band/music project - Maciej Podsiadło. http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Mac ... 3540390652
The band info was banned because of not enough heavy. I know first LP album it's 20% melodic metal, more hard rock and soft rock, but debiut single it's a traditional heavy metal. Now Maciej Podsiadło released new CD. (I have all CD of the artist) New CD as vocalist promised going from traditional 80's metal to power metal with thrash and AOR. 7 songs album It contains 4 heavy metal songs, 1 AOR and 2 instrumental miniatures. One of songs it's a Accept cover with different text.

If you want to listen:
http://chomikuj.pl/Rock.Metal/Maciej+Podsiad*c5*82o - Maciej Podsiadło new CD

I have all CD's, pictures and informations about band.

Cheers

Sorry, I couldn't find it for free anywhere.

Nope, we just stopped being lax.

MDL666 wrote:

The notes for the Black Satans says that they are a parody band with no VR proof and Greta Knights has no blacklist note, I"m guessing more -core than metal but since it is one of the none-note blacklists this was from a while ago.

The general policy is around 20 minutes of metal music. But of course that's not the only requirement.

Remember, the spirit of the law tells us that digital releases should have both some level of professionalism to them and that they should contain a reasonable amount of metal material. In many ways this is no different than how we handle physical releases, albeit instead of judging physical packaging (ie. the way it is distributed physically) we're judging digital packaging (ie. the way it is distributed digitally). But the general principles remain the same for both, or at least in theory they should be.

These mean nothing. We judge bands against our own standard.

Hey guys,

I would like to know why Amtal was rejected. It's post black metal. It's almost 20 minutes (18 actually).

https://amtal.bandcamp.com/releases.

It's been released digitally only for now and available for full download.

I understand why this project was originally blacklisted, since it was just a one-man keyboard oriented project that was pure symphonic with little to no metal elements, but this latest official album release is cut from the exact same stylistic grain as early Dark Moor, Rhapsody Of Fire, Fairyland and several other accepted symphonic power metal projects, and even features several prominent musicians from the same bands.

To whom it may concern,

I am writing to you to ask if you would please reconsider the band Swartwoud for your Metal Archives.

This is the band performing Live at One Man Metal Fest, March 7th 2016

(Some intros to songs are acoustic arpeggio, but please listen to the whole song. Thank you)

If it was blacklisted for not being metal before, re-releasing it with proper label support doesn't change anything.

So if a band has been blacklisted for not being metal, is the blacklisting permanent? Or can it be reversed with the release of qualifying material?

Of course it isn't permanent. If the band releases a metal release that meets the requirements the blacklisting is lifted.

Once there is a new release, post here again with links to evidence of public distribution and samples.

The rejecting mod probably thought it was not quite there for a digital release. Borderline.

What festivals a band plays does not matter. Live clips that may or may not be metal also do usually not concern us. We require a predominantly metal release.
