Do you know of any bands that sound like metal made by cavemen?
I'm generally open towards any metal subgenre, but my preferences tilt towards black and doom metal.
As for the interpretation of what would sound "cavemany", my thinking is something with a prominent tribal feel to it,
but feel free to surprise me with your own interpretation.

some bands off the top of my head, maybe ildjarn, tzaphkial, gonkulator, sump, hate forest, von, bone awl, finis gloria dei, wrok, silexater, irreverent, susvourtre, vagezaryavtre, armanenschaft. not sure these fit into some coherent notion of "caveman", maybe more like "feral & primitive".

While i don't think they nailed it, the weirdo band Neoanderthals made it their central theme.
I don't like them, but you could be interested :)

Catacombs? Primitive, hyper repetitive and non-emotional funeral doom conceived by an authentic autistic, probably mentally-impaired caveman.

If cavemen made metal it would sound like Sunn O))) (especially Black One).
But sadly not in a positive way, atleast for me.

11:55-16:30 on Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells, known as 'the Piltdown Man section'. Often gets called the first 'death metal' vocals but probably inaccurate. Anyway sounds like some BC shit.

Also, Winter - Into Darkness.

First name which came to my mind was Antediluvian, you might try them out, but for me their music is too chaotic.

Had enlightened cavemen had the prophetic capability to foresee the dreary plight of modern life and express it through such magnificent music, pretty sure mankind would have concluded that we as a species are just not meant to exist, and would consequently have stopped procreating.

Heidevolk's cover of Vulgaris Magistralis really invokes that feeling, in my opinion, but that's just one song.

Early Mortician with a drummer is super caveman/barbaric. Blasphemy as well.

What the hell...Started reading this, assuming someone wrote it today, and by the moment I reached the final word it dawned on me that this is my own statement.
Mainly mentioning this here because of how astonished I was to unknowingly come across an old post by myself, and how I nodded along with it; only now, I'd add the word "elegant" to my description of Winter's playing.
