I video taped myself recording drums and left guitar to a new 10 minute song that has 100 sections and none of the sections repeat. It's tech black/death. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wSMDMDco-QY

EDIT: thanks Corpsefister :)

Spirit Division has been recording our third album for the last month but I've also released a demo for an entirely new project called Lavaborne. Right now I'm tagging it as heavy metal with elements of power and doom but I'd be curious to see what others think of it.

been so busy building cabs i've only started a ton of shit but haven't fully finished anything. but as the year has been drawing to a close i've been more productive. a number of my works just need vocals to be completed. and the band I play most with that formed a few months ago put a tape out last month and has a split 7in coming out with Fistula.

Facade: I joined a metalcore/hardcore band earlier this year as their bassist/backing vocalist. Currently playing shows and getting ready to record our first EP.

Christ Embalmed: Blackened Grindcore band I started with a few friends from the local music scene, I do vocals for it. Currently writing riffs, drum parts, bass, and lyrics for an upcoming EP we have.

We released a two-song EP with Illusions Dead, and after we take some promo pictures, we'll send two other songs from those sessions to a couple of labels, and see if someone wants to work with us on our next full-length album.

After that, we're looking to playing some shows early next year in Finland, with some new exciting (for us :P) material in the setlist.

Here's the EP: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OmuF0EOGGfE

I also made some trades so that our other guitarist has better gear to play with in our rehearsals. I traded a Marshall JVM410 head to an old Engl Fireball 60 head and a Laboga 2x12 cab with V30. The Fireball sounds awesome, and I even made 25€ profit :P.

Just keeping busy. Working on some graphic design for one of my bands, writing new material for another, and I'm gonna be starting the recording for a local Roadrunner United style project a bunch of our locals are doing. Looking at pickup upgrades for one of my 7 strings, as well.

Sounds like it'll be solid. I liked the teaser. I like the logo. dig the artwork. right up my alley.

I wrote and recorded this on whim in 2 days back in late Dec and then took a week to mix and do all the artwork.
Digipaks will be finished Jan 10th

Cheers mate, keen to finally release it.
And jealous of that setup, can just knock up something in a few days!

I love being able to do that when I have the time. it's just getting the time nowadays or forcing myself to get that time. Plan on a lot of drumming on this weekend for projects.

The Decaying Continuum album is basically done after 18 months of writing. About a half hour of material ended up on the cutting room floor, so we ended up with a 37 minute album. Me and my vocalist are the only people left in the band, so I had to record the guitars, bass, backing vocals, keyboards and program all of the drums (I spent a lot more time on them than the sloppy demo ones). It took a few months for us to record the material and the only things left are some keyboards and a few vocal retakes...

The album is a cyberpunk concept about a guy's body nearly being destroyed and he transfers his mind into an android body and he goes on a rampage out of malice and revenge, then he eventually uploads his brain patterns into a matrix and as he grows stronger he enslaves the population and compresses the universe... or some shit like that, I didn't write the lyrics :p. It's over the top, but the music fits the vibe really well I think :D. We should be releasing a teaser track in the next month or two and the album by mid to late spring if all goes well...

my new death metal band Hollowed Idols has gotten deals with Dark Blasphemies and Rotted Life
my old single man death metal band Filtheater signed to Memento Mori and put together a full line up for the debut album and live shows.

Got a bunch of stuff I need to finish mixing like Uzumaki's new album. Yzordderrex's new album, new Draug, new The Breaking Wheel is about done with the tweaks and a new logo. and I need to finish vocals on Mountain of Beard and Tendrils

Just released an album with Venomwolf. I wrote/recorded/played everything myself, mixed it myself, then had it mastered by Joel Grind (who's excellent for mastering - reasonable prices, super easy to work with, and makes things sound great). I'm pretty happy with it, it's all complete takes for everything - no punch-ins or edits at all. So it's pretty rough around the edges, but it works.

Out on Iron Pegasus Records, for fans of Bathory/Venom/Midnight.

I released my latest album two months ago. I'm now just playing with some ideas in my mind. Not yet the writing process but eventually some ideas will pop up and I will write it down.

Had a spur of the moment thought to try playing some slam death metal and I loved what I came up with. Not as melodic sounding as my Perdu en Soi stuff but more rustic sounding like a nuclear fallout in a Beksinski painting. I want to continue writing for this and work on a project that sounds in between The Berzerker, Rigor Sardoncious, and Mournful congregation. The only challenging part of this is playing to a drum track. I can play to my tux guitar track alright, but playing to the 1/32 rapid blast beats throws me off when I'm playing chunky slam riffs. Otherwise I have a gremlin vocal style I can do that I think will be perfect for this sound, the only part I'm worried about is whether I can get my p-bass to tune down to C#, if anything I have a few friends that play death metal guitar and bass I can always talk to.

Happy to report that Spirit Division's third album has officially been mastered. We're really proud of this one, it's longer and more complex than our first two. We didn't go full on prog but there's more tempo changes and sample work than our old stuff. Currently in talks with a couple labels to determine a solid release date.

Started writing down a few riffs last night. The last album was atmospheric black metal but I think the next will be faster again but a lot of blastbeats. You never know how ideas will finally work so let's see.

Started the day without being able to play Destruction's Curse the Gods' main riff, ended the day while playing Toxik's World Circus' melodic solo at almost normal speed. My guitar skills are way too tangible.

I'm writing some stuff for my speed metal project Misfortune but I have too many influences, it is too difficult to stick to something and to come up with a regular song. And besides that I have no freaking idea how to record my guitar onto my computer, what gears are needed etc...

I'm almost finished writing a latin jazz/rock piece for collegiate jazz ensemble. My end goal is not to produce audio but a visual score from which a band can read and play. It's about 10 minutes long and it contains a variety of genre influences like funk, ska, flamenco, and even metal! It features incredibly technical parts for all instruments involved, particularly the bass guitar and saxophones. I started last October and I'm excited about hopefully getting it published professionally!

Working on a song for a new black metal project, did vocals for the first time on it but they sound too much like a loud whispering gremlin, I don't know how to screatch with my voice though because I feel like my voice just cuts out when I try to go higher. Either way I'm going to try to improve and rerecord the song.
