Wow, just wow. I'm absent for a bit, and as soon as I come back I read this. Devastating. He used to give me really useful review tips.

Dia was rarely online on the IRC channel or on Discord at the same time as I, and thus I didn't get to know him very well, but he seemed like a very nice and pedantic fellow, with an inspiring set of work ethics. He will be missed, and the review queue will no doubt look quite different in the near future. Life is a fleeting thing, people, hug your close ones tonight and tell them how much you value them.

Rest in Peace mate. He was too young to leave us. :(

He was always very professional with the reviews and I really enjoyed some of his comments on the forum. We will miss you mate.

Stunned, very sad news. Couldn't believe it was real. He gave me so many instructions about how to handle things on this site.
Rest in peace, Dia. Gone but not forgotten.

I wasn't as close to him as some of the other mods, our relationship was essentially professional, so I cannot claim him as a friend per se, but as a colleague I certainly held him in high regard. The amount of work he has contributed to the site is immeasurable; at times the guy almost single-handedly kept the report queue in check, for years. It still boggles my mind.

I was honestly, literally stunned when I found out yesterday. Even as someone who is not unaccustomed to losing people unexpectedly, I cannot fathom what his mother is going through right now. This is fucked and in a way surreal.

R.I.P.

Is it okay to ask how he passed away? He was only 31 which is way too young to succumb to natural causes.

...the fuck?

I'm fucking shook. When I saw this on the front page I thought this was a tasteless April Fool's Day prank. I'm not sure if I'm less or more offended that it isn't.

RIP Chris/Dia.

This is the first thing I thought. Not only was he 31, he was a fucking bodybuilder.

Dia was the first moderator I interacted with after joining the site. I always appreciated his ability to handle the review queue so well and his undeniable sense of humor. He will be missed.

R.I.P. Dia. A great reviewer and moderator, he unknowingly recommended me many a melodeath band through his reviews, and somehow sat through the vast majority of my reviews in the queue.

Sad day.

Man, that sucks. He used to handle a shit ton of my reports, and he was always pretty quick on his responses. He was definitely efficient. Godspeed to him, and best wishes to his family as well.

I just can't believe it. I don't even know what to say. I don't see me leaving the denial stage anytime soon.

We used to speak almost daily for a few months. Had always planned to revive that communication, now all I can do is wallow in regret for never actually doing it.

That's really, really sad. His recommendations and reviews helped me get into what would become some of my favorite metal albums and bands. I remember when I first signed up here, I thought he was going to be one of the people that would deter me from ever coming back, but in no time I found myself looking up to him for how he held himself and his opinions, his writing, and even his sense of humor. I didn't know him on a friendly basis, but he was one of the mods I always looked up to the most. I always thought he was great. A heartfelt thank you to him for everything he stood for and contributed! Prayers go out to the staff here as well as to his family!

Fuck. I haven't been actively editing recently, but I always figured that when I eventually found the time again, Diamhea would still be there to fix the things I don't have the permissions for, verify whether anything re:formatting and standards had changed during my absence and give his stance on cases I wasn't sure about how to fix, and chat a bit while we were both editing.

Never expected him to be just, wham, gone.

May he rest in peace.

I had hoped that was an april fools joke, I really really did.

His work on this site, his knowledge and dedication to metal, were amazing. He was always professional and cool with the other users, and for that reason was universally admired and respected on the forums. Not to mention his work behind the scenes.

This really bums me out. I use this website a lot as a resource, and to go on here and chat with other fans, and it was people like him who really kept it running- he was always one of the best in my opinion.

Thanks for everything man. You fixed my awful grammar and corrected the dumb errors in my updates. MA isn't going to be the same place without you.

I’ve been lurking looooong before I made this account. I remember Diamhea’s presence from first coming to this site so long ago. My respects go out to him and my thanks for all he has done to make this community what it is.

Shocked, to say the least. You'd be hard-pressed to visit the Archives and not encounter one of Diamhea's posts or reviews. I don't think we ever had any exchanges here on the forums, but I'll still miss his presence. Don't take your fellow posters for granted!

I just read BastardHead's review of Overkill, being a big fan of Overkill myself, and was a little stunned by the news; Diamhea handled my reviews, and I was thankful, but never expressed that thanks - Much respect to Diamhea.

We are always a brotherhood in black, but now we mourn as well. The clamour of his deeds has ended, but their echoes will never fade.

Fuck, man. Saw this yesterday morning and I've been trying not to dwell on it too much since then. I hadn't talked to him in a bit but we were pretty tight around 2014-2016. One of the chilliest, most down-to-earth dudes I've ever talked to, and I always felt really comfortable talking about anything with him. This is still hitting me really hard. I'm gonna blast some Overkill, Grave Digger, and melodeath this weekend in his memory. It's going to be so surreal coming here without him being around. RIP man, you were one of a kind and I know we'll never see your like again. :(

Well, I was definitely a thorn in his side, but I must admit he always provided my reports with comprehensive answers. Let's keep this database up and running in his honour.

Logged in for the first time in years just to say "Rest in Peace." Didn't know him personally, as I'm not active on this site much anymore, but I do remember seeing his name often on the forums. It's never easy to lose someone you know personally, and though I didn't know him like that, my sympathies still go out to those that did.
