I don't judge all Catholics of course, not even individual clergymen. On a systematic level though I despise the Catholic Church and their association with the worst crimes against humanity in particular (child molestation, support of clerical fascist regimes, etc.) So what metal is there that is explicitly anti-Catholic in imagery or lyrics and that references those crimes?

The black/death band Excommunicated have an album called Skeleton Key that’s based on the fucked up history of the Church. It’s more historical retelling than “hey hey! ho ho! The Roman empire’s got to go!” type shit. Musically it’s ok.

Dimmu Borgir's "Heavenly Perverse" and Moonspell's "Let The Children Cum To Me..." are both songs about pedophile priests.

No joke, this would be kinda an interesting take as these attitudes have existed among Protestants in the American deep south. It would at the very least be humorous to read about.

I know of a couple of Christian bands who have songs against Catholicism and their non-scripture based practices, such as worshipping Virgin Mary and such, unfortunately, I can't remember them right now.

If you remember/find them, I'd be interested in knowing.

Check out the cover art atrocities thread in metal discussion, there was some talk about an anti-catholic unblack metal band a short while ago, I'm just too lazy to look it up.

I remember one being a Brazilian band. By the way, it's unbelievable how many Brazilian Christian metal bands there are.

Indeed. South America in general has a ton, though Brazil especially.

LOL. I remember reading about that. And I thought those Westboro Baptist loonies were the only ones who still protested concerts anymore...

Apparently Brazilians have never liked "the false" since Sarcofago days. Those Westboro nuts have nothing better to do; you could liken them to the Kingsman: Secret Service church fight scene.

This is a weird question. I'd suggest all Black Metal is anti-catholic.

You might have to reconsider such a blanket statement.

Polish grindcore band Norylsk (formerly Trocki) had an album called Catholic Dictatorship.
