This band should be removed from the Metal Archives for having no proper riffs... All it is... is endless note-less slams and pig-grunting. Have a listen to hear what I mean.

This is perfectly acceptable bdm... It's just pretty damn bad.

Quite agree on the bad part as I'd easily give it a 0%. 95% of non-metal beatdown hardcore is better than that. I simply complained about it since I didn't hear any note differences. In a weird way, it reminds me of shitty war metal where it's just a wall of noise and grunts backed by aimless blast beats.

Uhhh what? Try new speakers or something, even on my phone this sounds like standard bdm. Pretty decent too.

I've listened to many other BDM bands and I can perfectly discern the notes, e.g. Analepsy. That band is kickass. I don't know why this one sounds different to me. I mean, sometimes I hear very subtle changes, but it's all under a wall of monotony so to say.

Since slam bands are now having "slam" added to their genre, this should be one of them that get the same treatment.
It might even avoid future complaints like this.

LOL "endless note-less slams"... you DO realize that playing a slam REQUIRES notes to be played.. right? Holy fuck.

Why was Burning Rain accepted? Great band, but with the exception of a few metal songs here and there, hard rock in the vein of Whitesnake and Lynch Mob...

Deleted Wold (Canada/United States) - blackened noise with heavy emphasis on the "noise" part. After a thorough evaluation, it feels safe to say that none of their releases are predominantly structured around metal riffs, or guitars, for that matter.

Removed Dragoon (USA). According to the band member, the album is just makeshift, tracks will be changed from time to time. Besides, several mods think the quality sounds too rough.

I laughed I have to say..

I think Christian found this band strange because Flesh tuning is too freaking low.. Even 20 times lower that the standard Slam metal bands...

I got a question here, I saw that Lacuna Coil was accepted based on "In a Reverie" and "Unleashed Memories", iihhh, my question is.. Really? I do not meant to be rude or something, almost I always agree with staff decisions, but.. Why? This is more poppy stuff than everything else, it is not near even from Post Hardcore or something light thing... Again, my question is 100% real, not meant to troll or something, I guess I will never understand this "band"...

Cheers! :)

I'm surprised that I didn't discover this earlier, but exactly what album of Helmet was considered metal enough to allow them to be on the site?

I'm not too familiar with the band, but I believe they were accepted mainly based on Meantime.

Weird. That release never struck me as being particularly metal; more alt-rock with noise rock and hardcore punk influences.

I suppose it's more of a surprise thing, as alt-metal bands generally get kicked off this site, in my experience with it.

Why was Audrey Fall accepted? The band sounds amazing, from what I heard of their song 'Petrina,' but it's just over-driven post-rock. Not metal in any sort or fashion. Perhaps the other songs were metal enough?

Please don't ask why a band is listed after only listening to a single song. One song usually doesn't give you a full representation of a band's sound.

Their 2014 full-length seems to be acceptable post-metal/rock for the most part.

From a quick gander at the other songs, it seems like Petrina is an outlier in being a post-rock track. The first track is definitely metal. Taking a few skims towards the middle of the album, I even found a post-black metal passage which surprised me. Priboi is also really metal. Sorry for the mis-judgement.

@Klaagzang: It took a bit longer than planned, but I took care of all those bands you brought up:

Zwarte Plaag & Sulmog: Deleted.
Corozain & Nevelheim: Went with the split solution.

Deleted Richard Andersson. No valid original material; not really a band as such but a compilation of his various other projects.

Hi there people, I reviewed this constipation and I knew I was reviewing a mallcore band, but what I didn’t realize at that time is that I was reviewing a mallcore band in Metallum, so here is my question:

Why this band got accepted? Did they offered to the mod who accepted a house in Iceland and wine with talking polar bears?

This is not even Melodeath (as it is cataloged on MA and also in their bandcamp’s page) they putted death metal and groove metal as tags what the fök? Maybe it’s just me that can’t find the metalness on this… I don’t know, maybe time changes, maybe I’m evolving as a level 81 elitist.

Cheers

....it very much is a mix of Melo Death and Metalcore. Not sure what you listened to to make it sound like Mallcore ;)

Hmmmmmm I was thinking that mallcore is the name of non-metal -corish bands, my bad. But I insist Pag that this band lacks every point to be melodeath, I seriously can't hear any death metal element.. Rod Stewart is even more metal than this guys.

Mallcore = Nu Metal
And three mods agree that this is MeloDeath/metalcore.
