why was the Czech band Olympic accepted? There are some heavy metal songs on the Když ti svítí zelená album, but there are only four songs, which could be considered musically real heavy metal:Když ti svítí zelená, Někde jse čet, Š ance nulový and ukaž, jak umíš rychle hrát, the last named song is only one minute long. The song Hej ty is perhaps borderline, but the rest of the album is pure hard rock, with two aor ballads and one new wave inspired song (Každej chvilku tahá pilku) in the mix, Is it really a predominantly metal album? I doubt it.

At least four mods agreed that the album is predominantly metal riff-based despite the AOR-style production.

O.K, thanks for eexplanation, In that case, it should be mentioned in the additional notes, that their aprevious album Bigbít from 1986 contains one heavy metal song "Jako tele na vrata". The album is predominantly hard rock, but already shows the direction for their follow-up: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1VY4GDKMdo

I think this band should be removed, it looks very much like a fake project. There is no music online, except for this hidden YouTube track which he shared some months ago on the band's Facebook page. I don't think acoustic parody/black metal is an acceptable genre yet. Add to this the fact that the pictures of the releases he has shared only show CD-Rs and cassettes with hand-drawn covers and I don't think there's much argument left for keeping the band in the database. Nonetheless, I also checked the label and Facebook events. The label is run by the same guy as the band and he mostly shares the same posts and pictures there as on the band page. The event pages all lack locations or any info except date/time. Nobody was interested or has attended, except the guy himself.

All in all, this looks like a big hoax to me. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

Music sample were provided internally to staff members. It was judged by two mods to be metal enough.

Lergrev
Although I can't speak for their first demo, the other two releases are predominantly atmosphere/post-rock with black metal that averages to around 15 minutes. So, pretty much borderline.

I've just heard it (the first demo). Nuked it.
It's far more -post/ambient than black metal.

I had thought It was composed of only BM. And question, if such a band has say maybe 3 demos. Each of which has half the demo's running time as non-metal stuff, the other half running time being metal, (for the three releases) would it be ok?

Then it's ambiguous. Bands like this one, composed by small discographies of demos and EPs are a case-by-case scenario.
In the case of Lergrev, it's definitive (a decision based on their entire discography).
You're welcome to appeal when the band releases something new, of course.

Sancta (Brazil): The band's ep and so their only release so far contains two songs, that are heavy metal, but also two songs, which are purely hard rock. The release is so only half-metal and such bands usually get rejected. I amd reposting it here, since this thread is obviously the better place for such requests. Please, see my report for details: https://www.metal-archives.com/report/view/id/662528

Old submission from when I was less learned.

This band changed their name to Nocturnal Delirium and still play black metal. Is this really a significant name change? It's just the same name translated, basically.

I don't know if the staff agree, but names are names, a mere change of it like adding just one simply word or translating turns it into another completely different one, like Abomination from Abominattion. (imo)

The Czech band Buldok imo does not have an album, which would be predominantly metal. The first two albums Patriot and Oheň a led are pure oi"/rac (very primitive one on the debut) and their last albumBlood & Soil is some kind of viking rock/hard rock, which is made mostly of ballads. What made someone to submit the band are apparently the albums Triumf and Creed Of Iron, but they are both ppredominantly a mixture of hard rock and rac, with some metal influences, but wWithout being predominantly metal.

Plunder & Pillage (USA)
The band certainly does not play death metal, but hardcore punk with aggressive shouted vocals. The music has some (thrash) metal influences, but they are certainly not dominant and only used in parts of a few songs on each album, so they have imo no predominantly metal release. The review should nottake too long, since they have onyl two albums: https://archive.org/details/PlunderPill ... htsOut1999

I'm not really sure that Grand Harvest (Sweden) should have been accepted.
https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Gr ... 3540455005

Their bandcamp says that the songs featured are from their upcoming album, so I don't think that this is a valid release. Unless this is a separate release, then I guess it's fine.

If I recall correctly, there's no such a line "Two songs from our upcoming album Fatehammer..." when I accepted this band. Removed now.

This Deconsecrate was just added but as I wanted to start adding band members, I found out this band is already on here since 2015.

Weird, I'm pretty sure I didn't see a warning that the band is already listed (and presumably neither did aloof or I'd assume she wouldn't have submitted them). Deleted.

EDIT: Okay, technically she *resubmitted* it, not sure if the warning would be visible then.
