The vocals are quite buried (not the final mix... I guess), and the audio track is.... mono (?!?!), but apart from that it's a very nice song.

Sounds great!

I also think the vocals should be higher in the mix. That said, vocals that are just a little bit lower than what we usually are accustomed to I think sometimes adds to a certain atmosphere that I like. Prime example: Arcturus and the song Angst.

So, after hearing the new song from Kris, it's time to subject ourselves to 30 seconds of Krisyuk's.... thing:

https://www.hospodi.com

Even as a 30 second teaser, this sounds incredibly generic.

That one didn't even sound like Batushka. He's not even trying, and if he does he's failing miserably.

The calling hours seems to be the times the sound clip is available.

Let's put the cognitive bias aside, we all want that scumbag of Bart to fail miserably, but let's be honest, both the Krzysztof track and Faketushka clip sound what you would expect from a Batushka album in terms of sound, riffs and vocals, of course there's a huge difference between a full track and a 30 secs clip but IMO the features are all there.

The Krzysztof doesn't sound impressive at all. Feels like it's supposed to be an intro track. But if so, why would you release an intro track first?

Frankly speaking, both tracks sound bad to me.
All this drama for such a weak project...that said I'm on the side of the original creator, obviously.

At this point I think neither metal blade nor the other batushka give a fuck. Sadly, I think this will not end well for Krzysztof to be honest.

Maybe a stupid question, but could it be that a US label simply doesn't care about a Polish court decision and (most likely) will not be affected anyhow by it?

Yeah, Bart has the US Trademark on the name which you can see here: http://tmsearch.uspto.gov/bin/showfield ... 33eaue.2.1.

I'm on Drabikowski’s side, but he's a kind of a moron for not treating the band as a professional business. If he had all this copyrighted/trademarked/protected years ago none of this would have happened. Trying not to blame the victim here, but this stuff is essential for running an international brand. Bart applied for this in February, which is well after the dispute started.

I found both to be decent though neither seem to be particularly inspiring. I do enjoy the non-Drabikowski one more though.

Hearing both I easily prefer Drabikowski’s. Dark and occult sounding, couldn’t even really make it through Bart’s bullshit and I went in with “well it may be good” attitude. It’s just generic though and the atmosphere is totally gone.

Wow, that video was a real thrill ride. Will he finish the bread in Pt. II? Who knows?!?

Must say I liked both songs.

Drabikowski’s song is easily better. Denser, more dynamic in it's layering, better production. Bart's is not offensively bad but wholly unremarkable. Sounds like weak imitation.

it means they are knowingly supporting a bunch of fucking thieves without the slightest hint of regret.

Edit: You know what? thinking more carefully, I'm even inclined to believe metal blade themselves are partly or mostly behind all of it, they might have even suggested Bart about the trademark in the USA, they know Batushka sells well and Krzysztof would surely get in their way (based on his personal statements and views on the band)...

Definitely on Drabikowski's side here. The atmosphere on that song is much more in line with the debut (Imagine that).

I'm calling the other one Babushka until further notice.

OK, objective take on the fake Batushka track. The vocal track was interesting enough, but its clear they (whoever is actually writing this) don't actually know what they are supposed to be doing with this concept. Seems standard/primitive BM+ Choir vocals= profit? Prefer the Drabikowski side for sure, but if other guys want to try something original, I'm all ears...

Regarding Krysiuk's Batushka, clearly more effort was put into making the video than the actual song. It sounds like modern Metal Enterprises degree of fakeness. Shameless, pathetic.

Eh, before Batushka there was Hesychast and Epta Astera. And so far as I know, both projects are drama-free haha.

It was a picture of Bart looking like he's about 65 years old, wearing some t-shirt about "Fake Batushka".
