No they do not.

spain's scene is surprisingly poor, but try xerion - nocturnal misantropia (who are generaly quite hit or miss though).

spain had one of the best DM debuts in recent years though with domains - sinister ceremonies

Marthyrium is a dissonant black metal band from Spain, quite recommended if you're into the Icelandic/post-DSO sound.

Seconding Marthyrium. Also, Sheidim is a fun band, and I liked Profundis Tenebrarum's last album.

Longing For The Untold by Aversio Humanitatis is a killer Spanish BM EP. Highly recommended.

Also highly recommend the Revelation EP by Andhord.

thanks for the recommendations, even if theres not alot from spain....anyone know any more black/death metal bands from America that are similar to the likes of say....Morbosidad? Going through their stuff right now and seems they are america's answer to war metal pretty much. Someone told me the American scene is quite rife with extreme metal bands yet I only know Kult ov Azazel and Wolves in the throne room and now Morbosidad

Don't focus on countries, start from the biggest names, like Sarcofago, Blasphemy, Archgoat, Conqueror, Diocletian, Bestial warlust, Revenge, etc.

This is a homage to the old days. Raw, underground, haunting black metal.

Thank you

Well variety is not the main quality of war/bestial black/death metal, anyway I suggest to give more listens, also to Teitanblood.

Fair point. That is true, i found with Morbosidad the tempo is similar throughout each track which i dont have a problem with as i love alot of blasting, but i found with them the riffs differ too so yeah they did click

Morbosidad, though they are death/black metal, theyre from America but the singer is Mexican which probably explains why they sing in Spanish

Ive gotta mention this but if youre tired of these bands having the same sound... what about SIRIUS, ASGAROTH, or ELFFOR? those are some really talented Spanish BM bands with Elffor singing in native Basque language even! They are older symphonic BM groups. Very talented ones too. Sirius was signed to Emperor's label and they had some mainstream success too.
On the complete opposite spectrum there is also CRYFEMAL. They play the ultra raw, super dismal, ugly weirdo, over the top satanic BM style and their music has an otherworldly sound to it that im sure you would hear few bands try and copy. Cryfemal also sings in Spanish. I highly reccomend their "With the Help of the Devil" album.

There are also some more smaller known groups like LUX DIVINA whose 2001 EP is one incredibly grim and noble sounding piece of pagan BM. On the melodic 'Dark Funeral style' there is OUIJA whose first album has some really talented musicianship. And again if you consider symphonic BM workable there is also SYMWRATH and CHAOTIC HOPE (another band using Basque language).

Spain is a good place for black metal. There are a lot of older things out there other than the Tetianblood new othodox style.

A request id need help fufiling for a while.

I tend to have a fondness for symphonic BM or at least black metal with keyboard effects. But I am trying to find some stuff that has some really serious ferocity and power to it that could keep up with artists like Immortal, Marduk, Absu etc. Stuff with extemely fast and aggressive music, REAL DRUMMERS, and still maintain consistent keyboard use.

So far the best examples I can give that I have found would some music from Unlord, Abigor, and Vesperian Sorrow.

I particularly like the Unlord as it literally is like Marduk with synths, that combination of really instense uncompromising sound with the epic atmosphere. Anyone have any advice? Also preferably not anything too viking metal or pagan metal.

gah! I must be getting old! Well Sirius is not as compelling as Asgaroth or Elffor in my oppinion. Good stuff but they quickly went for cyber industrial metal on their second album and then broke up.

As a replacement for Sirius I will also mention THE TRIARCHY OF VASCONIA. Not one band but a 3 way project of local Spanish pride released on one album. It represents a stunning work of pagan black metal with symphonic and folk overtones way before the huge pagan viking revolution of the mid 2000s and lacking some of the goofy absurdities of it. There is some pretty talented incorporation of traditional instruments on this album and it ranges in character from symphonic black to more robust straightforward black with lost of folk interludes. And it focuses all its effort on the medieval history of the Vasconia region of Spain.

An obvious one, but Agalloch's Pale Folklore is blatantly inspired by Bergtatt.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-zyfxzihqA

Also Myrkur has some nods to Bergtatt, not so strange when both Haavard and Garm worked on it.

more japanese BM? yes. anything like endless dismal moan? no. honestly, I think they're fairly unique.

for a start, check out sigh's somewhat traditional, yet also unconventional debut, or their later albums if you are into...weird stuff.
arkha sva are somewhat LLN-inspired/-aping black metal. I guess their demo comp mikama something is a good place to start. they also have some kind of...order thing going on with three other bands beginning with "a". whatever, they have some good stuff. check out the other three too.
you should also try hurusoma/gnome.

Hi! I am looking for atmospheric symphonic black metal that is is dark and also somewhat heavy.

Let me explain that: IMO a lot of atmospheric black metal goes in one of two directions: Either they make the production super-raw so that all the instruments become really thin and (IMO) lose their heaviness, OR they go in the opposite direction and make the production so squeaky clean that the dark atmosphere is kind of lost. Also, a lot of symphonic black metal bands end up sounding really happy rather than dark for some reason.

Examples:

* Summoning's Stronghold is a good middle ground. The production is somewhat raw but not TOO raw, and the drums are nice and pounding (e.g. on "The Rotting Horse on the Deadly Ground"). The earlier Summoning albums are too raw and thin for me, while the later Summoning albums sound too cheerful.
* Mistigo Varggoth Darkestra's Key to the Gates of Apocalypse has a great atmosphere and some good heavy riffs (e.g. the opening of the "Mantra IV" section in the Bandcamp version).
* Early Limbonic Art has a good thing going with the guitars and vocals and tempos, but the keyboards are way too cheerful. IMO their later albums are more atmospheric because the keyboards are not so damn happy anymore.
* Caladan Brood's Echoes of Battle is solid, although a bit thin and a bit cheerful at times.

So I am looking for slow-to-mid-tempo black metal with a production that is semi-raw, semi-clean and with a strong dark atmosphere. Symphonic elements are a great plus as long as they keep the dark feel.

Thanks in advance!
