Frostveil - ...of What Awakes in Deep Nostalgia

Some of the best Dungeon Synth I have heard, love it!

Idle Hands - Jackie

This is really growing on me. They really have a distinct style which is unusual for a newer metal act. I hope they don't turn into some kind of Battle Beast-esque gimmick down the road.

Judas Priest - British Steel

Used to overlook this ("too popular"). But it's one of their best to me nowadays. Rapid Fire, Metal Gods, Grinder, Steeler, The Rage. Great stuff. And of course the big hits too. Always get in a good mood when hearing Living After Midnight.

Demigod - Towards the Shrouded Infinity

Perhaps one of the best death metal albums of all time? Deserves to be up there with essentials like Leprosy and Altars of Madness

Tenebrarum - Abadias al Norte

Badass black metal that's sadly not well known at all. Fans of Argentum, Celtic Frost, Mortuary Drape and Samael should definitely find some value here.

Oh NO. I would HATE that. Idle Hands is a current love of mine right now.

Saint Vitus - Saint Vitus (2019)

Checking out the new Saint Vitus while grinding away some more on a big work project.

That's what occurred to me the other night - similarly I loved the first Battle Beast album, an original piece of work for that time, and then they totally turned into garbage. But Idle Hands seem more talented.

Lethal Curse - Bloodshed and Dream

Otherworldly death/black metal - it's like early The Chasm meets Sarcófago.

Judas Priest - Dreamer Deceiver

Man, I have been working for almost 40 hours straight... time to disconnect with a good power ballad. Halford's vocals are amazing, but that guitar solo is also just fantastic.

Tristania - My Lost Lenore

This band's first couple albums are my favorite gothic doom metal albums of all time. Ghostly, haunting atmosphere. Kinda makes me want to explore a decaying castle in the middle of the night during a full moon.

Don't jinx it. "Mana" is already an AOTY contender for me and I don't think I could handle this happening. lol

Grand Belial's Key - Mocking the Philantropist

The sound comes from a casette-Walkman. Like coming behind a wall. :) And may the summer begin! Some cool riffing going on.

Great stuff!

Dead Meadow - Sleepy Silver Door

The ultimate summer music for me.
I could die to the opening riff!

Impaled Nazarene - "1999: Karmakeddon Warriors"

Also loved the crazed attitude these guys exude, along with riffs which have both a punky and powerful edge.

Angra - The Shaman

Angra's first two albums are really stellar. I heard something about Shaman reforming which would be awesome.

I'm glad to see that album get some love. I think people dismiss it because the intro and first song (Vinterdøden) are really lacking compared to the rest of the album. The deeper cuts are where the magic happens.

NP: Kampfar - Syndefall

Finally giving the new album a spin. The intro has to be a callback to the first album!

Arcturus - La Masquerade Infernale (album)

An insidious and prophetic reflection on the irredeemable division between the Faustian and Rational spectrum transformed into a monumental musical achievement still untarnished in the 21st century. Without measure in terms of its shining brilliance and its relevance today. Anxiety-ridden even after so many times listening to it until this day.

Ares Kingdom - The Hydra Void

A bit punkier and more straightforward. Less of the epic stylings on this one. Interesting change.

NP: Derkéta - Time of Awakening

Sinister vocals, nasty riffage and an ugly guitar tone - doom/death metal done right!

Grand Belial's Key - Kosherat

Got this CD today, and played it a few times. Overall very strong stuff. And they got their own lovable lyrical style too. :)

Bad Religion - Stranger Than Fiction

I should really put on Suffer, heard so many good things about it. But I'm stuck with this. Probably the best full-length I've bought this year.
