Becoming The Archetype - The Magnetic Sky

BTA got more experimental with this album than they had before and it really works IMO. They do proggy death metal right!

Angra - Weakness Of A Man

Aqua is far from my favorite Angra album, but it's not bad and this is a decent song.

Chevalier - The Immurement

Finland have so much awesome Heavy Metal lately, and this is another killer band.
Speedy heavy metal with female vocals.

Death - Spiritual Healing

I was not expecting the vocals to sound like that. Sounds far more like a guy hoarsely barking/shouting than a traditional DM growl. I do really like the instrumentals and their tasteful technicality and progressiveness.

It's the tenth anniversary of Klabautamann's 'Merkur' so I've been listening to "Der Wald ist ein Meer" and the title track.

Archgoat - Jesus Christ Father of Lies

Causes serious headbanging. Glad there's the LP heading towards me. Can't wait!

I tried that album again lately and I couldn't even finish it - it just sounds bland as shit to me and lacks the vicious nasty bits of Leprosy as well as the more technical punch of Human.

NP: Obituary - Internal Bleeding

It's no Cause of Death but still very solid.

Dark Tranquillity - Senses Tied
Melodeath with hints of some electronics. Chapter rips.
I hated it when I learnt they are spelled with double L's.

Morgoth - Dictated Deliverance

Sounds quite a bit like early Death but who cares - I wish Chuck Schuldiner released an album like this instead of Spiritual Healing. Fucking vicious shit right here.

Man, I feel they're going to be huge some day. Japanese Black Sabbath meets Rush or something.

The song "9" is the only one, that doesn't work fully for me. Otherwise, it's class.

The Rolling Stones - Rocks Off

Such a great expansive journey through all kinds of rock music styles. Vibrant and even pretty epic at times.

That's kind of how I always felt about "Spiritual Healing." That album was right about the time I gave up on Death and stopped listening to them, as I thought they had gotten boring.

I've always liked pretty much everything Obituary has done though.

I'm listening to the brand new Sloth single "Like the Dead." It sounds exactly like the last 342 Sloth singles I've listened to. It just came out today. You should check it out!

Spiritual Healing isn't a very interesting album, honestly. It's pretty much the sound of the two albums before it but stretched thin and watered down, intensity-wise. Excluding TSoP it's my least favourite Death album, easily.

Deftones - 'Knife Prty'

'Go get your knife, go get your knife...'

The entirety of …skínn af sverði sól valtíva…, an extremely rare Falkenbach demo. Reminds me of so much of the olden days of listening to extreme metal.

Bad Religion - No Substance

Really liking this. Heard bad things about this, so I didn't check it out until yesterday. This is the catchiest/most poppy of their efforts that I've heard. Many cool songs.

Candlemass - Under the Oak

I'll admit I'm not much of a fan of Nightfall, but this album is pretty fucking excellent.
