Hello !
I am looking for influences of Manga in Heavy Metal/Hardcore (any subgenre, the more diverse the better). I already know about Rise Of The Northstar (Hardcore), I know that Linkin Park made an anime video for Breaking the Habit but are there other band (maybe in more extreme genres) that claim the influence of manga (through the visual art, the scenography, the music videos, the music, the lyrics etc...) ?
In the same way, do you know some mangas/anime that draw influences from Heavy Metal culture ? Personally, I know Detroit Metal City, the music references in Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, the influence of Punk and Rock fashion in Hokuto no Ken, and I'm not a specialist, but I know that a lot of AMVs use Metal songs and that Rock/Metal is often used in anime Openings/Soundtracks. If you have any suggestions in those areas, I take anything.
Thanks you and sorry for my broken English !

Metal that incorporates lyrics/themes from anime/manga include most songs from Battle Beast and Beast in Black as a whole (Berserk), the track "Akira" by Skelator (Akira, of course), "Grave of the Fireflies" by The Raven Age (take a guess), and that's about all I can think of off the top of my head.

Anime/manga that takes influence from metal includes the titles you mentioned, another obvious one with Aggretsuko, and the series K-On! has a recurring gag in which the girls' homeroom teacher and club supervisor was in a melodeath/speed metal band when she was in high school. That fictional band even has a page here on M-A.

The guilty gear videogame series (anime beat em up) has a ton of references to hard rock and classic heavy and thrash metal: the characters's names and the special moves are very inspired by band members, songs and album titles

I'm no expert because i only played the game very few times, but it was nice to see how packed with citations it was

This article seems to cover a lot of them

Crow'sClaw (instrumental power metal), Iron Attack! (instrumental heavy/power metal), Thousand Leaves (melodic death/power metal), Stratiotes (melodic death metal/metalcore), Kissing the Mirror (melodic death metal/metalcore), 5150 (symphonic power metal with female vocals, also has 2 or so black metal songs per album), UI-70 (instrumental power metal), Demetori (instrumental power metal), Vaguedge Dies for Dies Irae (melodic death metal/metalcore), Agent 0 (brutal death metal), Unlucky Morpheus (power metal with female vocals) Undead Corporation (Metalcore with female vocals)
All of these Japanese bands are (mostly) themed after the Touhou Project video game franchise and make parody songs.

I just saw this thread and remembered a Portuguese (traditional) heavy metal band saying they had a song inspired by Rurouni Kenshin. I will look for the name shortly.

ETA - Wanderer, 'Way of the Blade'!
