It's not on the blacklist nor in the rejection history. I am inclined to think that you might be mistaken, aloof.

thanks for your reply :) I could have sworn they used to be, but maybe it was in a dream...

sorry to ruffle your feathers, Witcher, but there isn't a "was that band ever on the archives" thread :)

Another issue: I have noticed, that Holy soldier, woo were deleted from the database upon my request in this thread some months ago, were submitted again. Apparently the band was not blacklisted. No problem, such small mistakes can certainly happen, but I do not see any reason, why to keep this band, whose material was thoroughly reviewed by two mods, is kept pending in the queue for a month and is taking up space for valid submissions. Please see here: https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Ho ... 3540455848

I've rejected it and blacklisted them, as they were indeed evaluated by MR and myself back in November.

Imo they play the style of hardcore , which is similar to Biohazard, Madball or the album "Desolate" by the recently deleted Plunder & Pillage. It may have slight metal influences, but the riffing and songweiting is predominantly rooted in hardcore and it is not stylistically predominantly thrash metal based.

Regarding Swamps: Here is their Bandcamp, so the mods can listen to complete albums: https://swampsma.bandcamp.com/

Since a week has passed, I'm reposting my question about Code Of Violence

Aryan Rebels (Germany):
I suppose, that the band was accepted based on the 2013 albumDer Sieg des Gewissens, so let's look at it. The first song after the intro is rreally predominantly metal, also the second song has hearable metal influences. But laready the third song is more hardcore punk/rac based than metal and the following songs drift totally into the oi!/rac/ballad territory with the eexception of song "Der Mann", which is again in style of the first two songs. That makes three metal based songs out of 11, not counting the intro, which is not really a convincingly metal based album:

Deleted Vogelfrey (Germany) and Morgenstern (Germany) as a result of the ongoing "Medieval Metal" purge. Both are Folk Rock/NDH.

Deleted Dreadful Shadows (Germany) for being Goth Rock with some minor metal aspects.

Witcher, I'll take care of Blitzkrieg / CoV / Swamps during the next few days.

[EDIT]
Nuked Code of Violence : metallic Hardcore. (thanks for sending me the songs, Muhammadabbadabba  )
Nuked Aryan Rebels : it's almost 50/50 RAC vs. Metal, therefore it's not a predominantly metal. (KJ and myself)

I have noticed, that first band from my list, Code Of Violence, has already been deleted. Big thanks for that.
Two more bands:

Retribution (Slovakia):

-----------

Hammer Of Hate (Poland):
To call their style groove metal is a big stretch imo, their music is predominantly rac based with only some minor metal influences:

Jarovit (Russia, Volgograd): There are just about three minutes of actual black metal riffing on the entire album. The rest of the music is just symphonic electro-folk over programmed drums with some occasional background noises: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mfISXEZWv18

Vandal (Russia): Their early material wwas pure oi!/rac, the later material was a mixture of rac and hardcore, not thrash metal: http://88nsm.com/393-britogolovye-idut- ... kciya.html

Thanks KJ, there is one more problematic band from the Armor Get Dawn circle:Sieg- predominantly ambient/folk, if there are electric guitars, then only as noises in the background, so overall the same charasteristics as Jarovit:

I'll admit I have difficulty assessing Metalcore because I have only familiarized myself with the scene from the '90s after ignoring the wretched SOTS clones from the 2000s, but I am mighty curious as to how Protestant by Rorschach is more acceptably Metal than anything by their contemporaries from the same era, namely Earth Crisis, Conviction, (early) Integrity, et cetera. What compositional aspects do that album feature the others collectively lacked? Some '90s Metalcore bands are quite obviously Metal even without the core elements, namely Merauder who borrow from Slayer and Pantera as they do New York Hardcore or Overcast who sound very thrashy, but Rorschach is eluding me.

Was wondering if anyone had more info concerning this band:

If you do, please share. I believe this was a rock band and have doubts about the existence of their demo.

Should King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard really be accepted based on their new thrashy album? Tracks like "Hell" may show metal influence, yes, but the other tracks don't:

https://kinggizzard.bandcamp.com/track/self-immolate-2
(Five Finger Death Punch style chord-based chugging and weird guitar noises)

https://kinggizzard.bandcamp.com/track/venusian-1-2
(hardcore-like with noodling)

https://kinggizzard.bandcamp.com/track/superbug-2
(sounds like doom with one occasional repeated metal riff, but not note-y enough all the way through to be metal)

https://kinggizzard.bandcamp.com/track/ ... the-rich-2
(hard rock)

I don't know what you think, but I don't think this is a full album of metal.

I listened to the album several times and it was clearly a mix of retro/doom stuff and thrash/speed metal. There is some rock, but overall not even borderline (as I was initially expecting).

Well, since another month is nearing its completion, I would like to make a small appeal. The "Rejected Bands" thread is working very well, the band is not pilling up and many thanks for establishing it again. But this thread seems to be in a rather lethargic mode, so I would like to stress out, tht it would be really nice, if someone started slowly reviewing the bands that t I (and some other users) posted above in the last months. I know, that I have posted around ten bands and some of them have multiple albums in their discography, but bands like Southule have only two short demos, so they could be for istance handled first. There are also some legitimate requests on the previous page (Heavy Bones for example), which are also waiting for a review and which would be useless to repost over and over. So to put it simply some biggeractivity of the staff in this thread would be very beneficial and it would be also nice to see the bands handled before the end of 2019.

Hello folks, I saw about "plagiarism" I never payed attention to this.. And well, I got to put an Argentinian old school thrash metal - Horcas: https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Horcas/2805

Bunch of plagios, everytime... Here the proofs: All the channel dedicated to show their plagiarism:

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC72uYZ ... 0hxY_9Zajw

Every song & album are specified in the videos.

More videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLE-2pfukiY

What should we do with this band lads?

And why were they accepted..?

You must not be very familiar with thrash as a whole. Being extremely influenced by bands =/= plagiarism. Plagiarism would be them stealing the riffs 1 for 1, which is obviously not the case here at all. Horcas is obviously acceptable (and they're good for 90s thrash).

Excuse me Storm, but that's a fallacy, sure I am, being extremely influenced is one thing, STEALING riffs and using them to create a "new song" is a completely different thing... They are exactly the same, I guess we'll have to deal with the same thing that bunch of people said about Horcas "Not plagio, they do tribute songs" Abaxial is obviously influenced by Metallica, Hermética also was influenced for the first wave thrash and speed metal.. Did they stole riffs? Nope..
