Knellwraith - The Third Mistress of the Moon

Sounds a bit like early Katatonia meets early 90's midpaced black metal. Interesting stuff.

Orodruin - Grave Illusion

Ruins of Eternity has been in heavy rotation. Almost every song is a winner.

Fall of the Leafe - Into the Autumnsphere

Not that big of a FotL fan, but August Wernicke is a masterful album. Suits for the endless November we're living around here. This world is so fucked.

Metallica - Kill Em All (OBVIOUSLY A CLASSIC).
Uriah Heep - Sonic Origami (lighter than I expect from them, it sounds like Journey- but REALLY GOOD Journey!)
The Who - Who's Next (the Bonus tracks make this a better album! I like it more than the old LP version I used to have).
Cream - Very Best of (Some great rock n roll- and some spazzy hippie drivel!)
Saxon - Best of (THIS RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Aphotic - Stillness Grows

Pretty solid comp of death doom from Wisconsin. Reminds me of Katatonia.

:np: Running Wild - Wild Animal

Death or Glory is so fucking cool, even its throwaway tracks rule hard.

Rage - Chasing the Twilight Zone

All I want from this band is some chunky, aggressive riffs and those sweet, sweet harmonized choruses, so this album is like a refreshing dessert.

Helloween - Mr. Torture

I will never not defend Andi Deris as a superb vocalist and perfect for this band. He just has so much character. He sounds like if a Jack O Lantern was singing.

His only crime was not being Michael Kiske IMO.

Obituary - Body Bag

John Tardy sounds positively insane on this album.

Rush - Seven Cities of Gold

One of my favorite cuts off an excellent record, not just for a band that old, this would have kicked ass in 1977.

I snobbed the Deris era for a long time, but after hearing tracks like Before The War and Sole Survivor i can only slap myself for missing music this damn awesome

Virus - Road

This is like walking in a Dali' painting. The guitar playing is both alien and catchy, if such thing is possible

Diplodocus - Return of the Thunder Lizard

Yeah, dinosaur-themed dungeon synth... I'm happy. It is actually more like the synth-work in Summoning than, say, Mortiis.

Poppy - Bite Your Teeth

Decided to see what the hype is about. This is basically American Babymetal (metalcore + nu-metal + pop). Read into that what you will.

More engaged guitar-wise than ...Majestic Thou in Ruin. Not bad.

Amorphis - White Night

Aleah Starbridge's vocals are beautiful and haunting on this track.

Doing a Rush instrumental playlist and just finishing up Where's My Thing? from Test for Echo. Rush can write an instrumental that is for sure.

Now onto some Cradle. Right Wing of the Garden Triptych.

Fucking smoking tune. Drums are nuts, Dani is killing it, and the riffs are boom!

L'Impero Delle Ombre - I compagni di Baal

Fantastic doom with a vintage vibe. Sounds like Genesis goes doom in places.

Morgion - Relic of a Darkened Past

Sounds like Peacevile doom/death-meets-Celtic Frost or something. Got to finish my review for this album soon. :metal:

Exhumed-The Red Death

I think the last album I heard from them was Necrocracy which I don't recall. But man this album is super furious and just endless blasting and speed. I caught them when they toured with Suffocation/TBDM and I don't recall them playing anything this ferocious live

Cradle of Filth - A Crescendo of Passion Bleeding

While I prefer "V Empire", "Dusk", "Cruelty" & "Midian" when it comes to their classic era, I still quite like "Principle" too. Like everything else they did around that time, it's a pretty unique mix of sounds.

Cradle of Filth - Beauty Slept in Sodom

Most extreme metal with these kinds of vocals may be instrumental as much as I can understand the lyrics. Should probably read the lyrics sheet but Dani is spitting out so many words so fast I don't have time to keep track. But due to that works good as background music while working on Cisco certs and brushing up for upcoming job interviews.

Steve Harris' British Lion - The Burning

Better than I remember the debut being, but this is still a five minute song that feels like it's 10 minutes. Sounds like kinda passe radio rock.
