Not metal. Not even close. Did you ever listen to the full track? I have the release and have written a review about it. I can send the track to someone.

Judging from the submission notes, only 2 of the 6 parts were included.
Feel free to send it my way:

Any news on this?

I'll listen to it on Sunday, I'm currently not near my computer, unfortunately.

Sven Gali (Can)- predominantly hard rock.
The first album is in eighties hard rock style, the second one sounds like the already deleted band Soulmotor and the third one is modern hard rock/nu-hmetal in the style of bands like Godsmack.

Heavy metal Army (Jap)- The name may be misleading, since their album does not have much heavy metal in it imo. The style on display is seventties style hard rock, smilar to Deep Purple and Uriah Heep, with strongprogressive ininfinfluences from bands like King Crimson:

I'm going to try and take care of the backlog in here this weekend, when/if I have the time.

First time posting to anything on the forum so any feedback would be appreciated.

While I was in the advanced search I saw that 'Afghanistan' was the first country in the list which intrigued me. There are only three bands from Afghanistan and Almach (https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Almach/3540468950) has thirty-one similar artists listed all which have 5 votes (except for one which has 6 votes). This seemed very suspicious to me especially since this band was added to the site less than two weeks ago.

If the similar artist votes are indeed inauthentic then I'm pretty sure this violates some rule.....

Nah, the votes were all made by a single moderator (staff votes count as 5 instead of 1).

It's a borderline mixed bag of heavy metal and 70s/early 80s hard rock/prog, but overall we think that it's okay in the context of its time.

Still have to check Iron Fist and Akbaba.

Thanks a lot, Azmodes. Regarding Heavy Metal ARmy, thigh it may be a bit off-topic, there is currently a question about the dirdirect personal continnuation of that band, which was called EasterOrbit , on the Bands Appeal forum. Since you are familiar with HMA's music, you may want to check it out, too:
viewtopic.php?f=27&t=128126n Orbit
Regarding Torok: Unfortunately their first tow albums seem to be extra rare and I couldn't find any samples for them online. All I could find was the song "Shame" from the third album posted in the interview below:

I have questions about the release they got accepted on. The only release is a 4-ish minute single, so I assume it was a physical release, but there's no format listed. Since it's a V2 submission, maybe there's some submission notes that we can look at to fill in the info?

Unfortunately not. This definitely looks dubious as fuck, though. If that single was ever physically released (which I doubt), there's not a trace anywhere that I can find. It screams Myspace band. Think I'll delete it and see if it ever pops up in the band queue again.

Iron Fist has been deleted. Hardcore punk through and through.

That's a Rapidshare link, so guess I'll have to get that CD after all.

Electric Mary (Australia): Pure stoner/hard rock similar to Clutch, The Black Crowes, and Rival Sons. Their third album might be acceptable (especially seeing they were accepted not long after its release). To my ear, it sounds no heavier than Monster Magnet or Fu Manchu's heaviest releases. Metal in parts, but still predominantly stoner rock.

Thanks. Thhere's also the pre-Stampede band lLautrec, which imo plays similar kind of hard rock. The A side from their singele "Mean Gasoline" was even later published as a Stampede song on one of their albums. The song is similar to AC/DC both musically and lyrically and the second song on the single, "Shoot Out the Lights" is not much heavier:

I'll get to it eventually.

I got the Sachta CD and it's a bit frustrating. Some parts are kind of death metal-y (first wave) metalcore, some more nu-metal and -core sans metal. I'd be okay with it, if the former were more consistent, but I guess overall it leans too much towards the hardcore/nu-metal side. Sniped.

British Lion- the music is hard rock and though the band was apparently accepted as a side project of Steve Harris, it is not so,since the band was started under the name BBritish Lion already in the early nineties , Stve Harris was their manger back tthen and the band already had a demo wand was playing live concerts with thier original material. YoYou can read here, tha British Lion member Richard Taylor considers the band to be the continuationg of the origianl British Lion from the nineties rather than a sside project of an iron Maiden member:
https://metalplanetmusic.com/2019/12/br ... t-uk-tour/
In the light of all this, is there really a reason to still keep British Lion listed in the database?

No intention to be a minimod here, just to give my two cents about A.S.A.P.:

The (discretionary) side project rule may also be applied to A.S.A.P. because their album was recorded and released while Smith was part of Iron Maiden. He apparently left in early 1990, before NPFTD sessions (which differs from the data here in MA)

Regarding A.S.A. P. - Yes, it was started as a side project, but it became Adrian's main band in 1990. The conflicting tour shcedelus were one of the reasons fro him to leave Iron Maiden, as the additional notes say. I am ppersonally for further limiting the number of non-metal side project on the page, especially such dubios ones, which have become the artist's main band sooner or later.
Besides that, the Silver and Gold album is really very far from metal, goeing strongly into the aor territory on more than half of the songs on the album.

Yes, the metal tracks are rather long, but the releases are nor predominately metal.

What about this?

Agreed, arguably no predominantly metal release here. Deleted.

A.S.A.P. - predominantly hard rock, it is smilar in style and heaviness to the solo hard rock albums by Gary Moore imo:

Deleted Planet AIDS (Netherlands). Overwhelming consensus among the staff is that this is riffless industrial/drone/ambient.

If you did that one, maybe you want to give another listen to Like Drone Razors Through Flesh Sphere? Unlike other drone/doom bands on the site I never got any feeling of them of having anything like the ultra-slow doom metal riffs that'd make such bands acceptable, it just sounds like endless chains of unconnected guitar chords.
