Thanks a lot. I have alraeedy found the t link to the demo track, too, but the live rehearsal is new to me. It contains the songs, hich also appeared on the Roadkill demo and imo shw clearly, that the band played mostly punk. Sot the band can be deleted from the list, more so, that it already ggot rejected for being predomiantly punk, when I tried to submit it with the sole demo track as a sample.

Needs research. - Spine
Genre: Thrash Metal
Location: Florida, USA

The original submitter deleted his draft for this.
Released a self-titled CD in 1994.

Here's one song on youtube.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9G-XHP-VARA

Usually this would be a no-brainer to accept, but the youtube channel has a history of only uploading the most metal song of otherwise borderline/rock albums, so I want to hear a few more samples before adding it.

Needs research. - First Born
Genre: Heavy Metal
Location: Unknown

Released a self titled, 3 song cassette in 1994. This is the only song I was able to find. If anyone can find the other two to confirm it's metal, that'd be greatly appreciated.

The submission was completely unrelated to your post here.
Also by posting here you don't get exclusive rights to add the band.
I mean, if someone brings up info here that leads to the band being acceptable, you'd have the right to submit it (imo) and people shouldn't use research posts to beef up their submission, but if someone else just happens to buy the CD or something and submits it, so be it.
We can't force everyone to check the forums before submitting a random band they found.
Also, in the end, all that matters is another band in the archives.

Needs research. - Freak Occurance (United States)

Apparently a metal band from San Bernardino, California, active between the early to late 2000s. Released a demo sometime in 2003, in or before August.

Demo (August 2003 or before, CD most probably)
1. Drastic Actions (05:47)
2. Perspective (04:03)
3. Dependant On (04:58)

Known members:
- Howard
- Art
- Kendogg

No members of the band are known, but there are a few surviving pics of them:

EDIT (18/07/2022): Managed to find the names of a few band members and sent a message to the only potential lead I found; a guy who posted a photo of the band back in 2010 on Facebook. I also found the band's Myspace. This is about all I have.

Needs research. - Porno Holocaust
In GrindZone 5/1996 (a special issue dedicated to norwegian black metal scene), talking about demos, a band called Porno Holocaust is mentioned: they released a demo of old fashioned black metal in Venom style and after that they disappeared (if you understand italian you can read here: https://imgur.com/a/8veopFl )
Can you help me to find other infos? Thanks.

Demo doesn't exist - The Room of Massacre

Spoiler: show
Genre: Deathcore
Location: Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico

The band supposedly released a demo in 2008, although I'm not 100% sure if this is an actual demo or if this is is just a random compilation of MySpace tracks. I don't know if there was a physical CD made for this, but even if there wasn't, it's possible that it could've been intended as a demo. I'm not 100% sure.

The demo on YouTube:

MySpace link:
https://myspace.com/theroomofmassacre (they seemed to have changed their name to "Asphyxiation")
2009 archived MySpace link:
http://web.archive.org/web/200902031608 ... ofmassacre

Note: On the current MySpace page, it says one track is part of something called "DEMO!" However, this doesn't mean that the song is the only actual track on the demo, since MySpace is broken, so on many pages, songs on an album/EP/demo aren't listed as part of it.

Related comments:
NintenTheMetalhead wrote:
Update on The Room of Massacre: I found another video in which the "demo" was uploaded, and a self proclaimed member of the band commented a few times: https://youtu.be/-VQLjvP9-Fo

The user "toto del valle" claims to be a former member of the band, and he replied to someone's comment asking about the release of this "demo" saying (as translated from Spanish using Google translate):

"I think it's from the end of 2009, we never recorded an EP, some good samaritan found the songs and compiled it in this video"

Original comment in Spanish:

"creo que es de finales del 2009, nunca grabamos un EP, algun buen samaritano encontro las rolas y compilo en este video"

So it looks like this really is a random compilation of songs from MySpace. That means this very likely isn't acceptable, unless there's some kind of translation error and the comment says something different, but that's unlikely. The Room of Massacre can be removed from the list.

I did register myself a few years ago, but couldn't get the software to work. Didn't have too many problems cancelling though.

This one appears to be some sort of precursor to Fatima Hill, before he found their permanent vocalist Yuko. Anjue reused two of the songs on FH's first two demos - 'Songeria' is on #1 'Ikaros', (but as an instrumental minus the lyrics) and 'Fatima' on #2 'Ring and Queen'. I imagine a few people here have those tapes, as more than one has edited the tape line-ups here, so possibly they may be acceptable evidence? Apparently the guy who put it on Discogs (friend of a friend!) just randomly found it in a second-hand shop in Japan. There's nothing actually on the tape or lyric sheet that identifies the year of release though. I'll try to find a Japanese interview (I can read Japanese) on the band's origin as they may well discuss it at some point though.

About Eternal Hill: If the band is Fatima Hill under a different name and with a slight lineup change, I think that is acceptable evidence of being a metal band, especially if 2 of the songs were used later by Fatima Hill. If you're able to easily acquire any more information it would be helpful, though. With some bands there is only a little bit of information that can be retrieved, but there will be a better chance to have more information surface, as well as (hopefully) their music once they're added to M.A. The uploader on Discogs, black_fate, also contributed the other Japanese band's tapes that I posted about. One way that those bands could be added is if he is able to upload a song from those other releases. Billm, if you feel there is enough information gathered on any of the bands, feel free to submit. Thanks for looking into them!

Added. Bromothymol
Spoiler: show
Location: France
Genre: Heavy Metal
Activity period: 1978-1988
Discography: Demo 1984
Track listing: No resiste pas / Illusions / Sans toi / Prisonniers du temps / Dealer d'armour / Instrumental / Aurelia / Sirene des neiges

I submitted the band a few months ago and was asked to seek more solid proof that the demo was released and distributed, but can find no more info than what is given at France Metal Museum and ReverbNation. It's likely that it was just taped on a commercial blank tape and circulated without a J-card, as was very common at the time. If anyone could help to get this classic band added, perhaps by contacting a former band member for clarification, that would be awesome.

Detailed bio from a very dependable webpage:
http://france.metal.museum.free.fr/grou ... thymol.htm

Bio at France Metal Museum translated to English (note that this will alter the song titles to English also):
https://translate.google.com/translate? ... thymol.htm

ReverbNation page:
https://www.reverbnation.com/bromothymol

Band members, last known lineup:
Yves Girard - Bass (?-1988)
Albert Dubuis - Drums (1978-1988)
Jacques Serra - Guitars, Vocals (later) (1978-1988)
Hérve Redon - Guitars (1982-1988)

Past members:
Frédéric Arlandis - Bass (1978-1982)
Emmanuel Guerard - Vocals (1981-?) (ex-Slaughter (Fra): https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Sl ... 93889)
Joe Cappiciani - Bass (1982-?) (ex-Undertaker, ex-Made in France: https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Ma ... 64347)
Thierry Torne - Guitars (1982-?)

[spoiler]Spooky: Regarding Bromothymol (France), would anybody who knows French be able to watch this 3-minute interview and see if there is any mention about their 1984 cassette release?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YlyeOJXPIvo
The '84 demo was recorded (and very likely released) one year before this interview. On the band's ReverbNation page and on France Metal Museum it's mentioned that the band is looking for the tape, and to contact if you have it (which to me means that it was physically released - they apparently got a copy, too, as it is uploaded on ReverbNation with the same track listing shown on the release at France Metal Museum, a very detailed and accurate webpage.)
I tried contacting someone else from the band today to ask if it was officially released. The first 2 band members that I messaged didn't get back to me.

Sean16: I checked the short Bromothymol interview. There is no mention of any cassette tape, but starting around 1:10 the interviewer asks the musician about a videoclip made "conjointly to a 45 rpm EP, your first". The guy answers "yes, to release a 45 rpm, you need a lot of advertising, and a videoclip is the best support we can have". The way it's presented, it seems like the EP was already released, but it never gets more precise than that. That's all the information there is about a potential release, really - the rest of the video is about the different ways to promote the local rock (sic) scene, videoclips, live shows etc.

Spooky: Thanks for the translation, Sean. It could also be noted that the song that was aired on the TV program is "Ne résiste pas," the first song on the 1984 demo. It sounds like the interviewer referred to the demo as an EP (which was their first and only documented release). For a 1984 demo it has good sound production and could very well be looked at as, or referred to as an EP. Looking again at the France Metal Museum page, where it talks about the recording, translated to English it says "It's time to immortalize it all! In 1984, BROMOTHYMOL entered the "ADN Musique" studio..." When it's described like that, it sounds like there was a release. Immortalizing songs doesn't seem the way it would be worded if merely recording a tape for band members to reference, or send to labels, especially when being written about decades later.
With all of this info it seems likely that there is enough for them to be added to the site, but in order to try to get further clarification/details I emailed France Metal Museum, and will wait a few days to see if I get a response from them, or from vocalist Emmanuel Guerard who I wrote to a couple days ago.

Sean16: Well, the way it's referred to in the interview, "45 tours" in French explicitly means the format is a 45 rpm vinyl, definitely not a cassette tape. And the term is used both by the interviewer and the bandmember. Does it mean there was first a demo tape, which was then semi-professionally released as a vinyl EP? Again, nothing more can be grasped from the interview alone. Hope you'll get more details from French Metal Museum (I like this page, too, very convenient for French metal history).

Translated biography at ReverbNation page (which also features a more recently-recorded rehearsal video and their full 1984 demo audio:

The group was founded in the south of France, in 1978, in Arles exactly.

It was then composed of Jacques Serra (Guitar), Frédéric Arlandis (Bass) and Albert Dubuis (Drums), all three high school students. This hard core plays Rock and Blues instrumentals, and performs in various festivals, podiums and concerts in the region.

They find the name of the group when they come out of a high school chemistry class!

After several attempts by musicians and singers, the combo was joined by Emmanuel Guerard on vocals, who happened to be rehearsing in the same premises as the group in 1981. Thanks to the vocal capacities of "Manu", Bromothymol is moving towards a rather Hard Rock universe.
Influenced by Depp Purple they play 2 titles on stage, Rainbow and even AC-DC. They also listen to a lot of southern rock, like Lynyrd Skynyrd, Molly Hatchet ... who play with three guitarists and perform choruses with two or three guitars.

In 1982, Frédéric Arlandis (bass) left the group and began to sing in the new group he formed. The group therefore sees the arrival of Joe Cippiciani on bass, having toured with Made in France and Undertaker. And two new additional guitarists, Hervé Redon and Thierry Torne.
Bromothymol is now evolving with three guitarists, which allows two guitar solos to be performed on stage. This particular and original game, enhanced by the high pitched and melodic vocals of Manu, and driven by the sustained bass-drums rhythm, makes the "mark" of the group throughout the region.

Bromothymol entered the studio in 1984 to record a demo of eight tracks (we are looking for him, including an instrumental.
The music is signed: Jacques Serra and the texts: Manu Guérard.

In 1985, the group recorded two titles during the recording of the program "Pas de Rock sans Clips" on FR3 Marseille (France 3 at the time), only one was broadcast, in this program where we also find the "North Quarter" group

After many Festivals and concerts in the region, Manu left the group and joined Slaughter, a group from Miramas, whose influences (Iron Maiden, Judas Priest ...) suit him better.

Thierry also leaves the group, but for personal reasons.

Bromothymol evolves temporarily with Jacques on vocals and guitar, without managing to find a singer. Joe took by his military obligations, has difficulty being present within the group, despite a replacement bassist, he must leave the group.

The group will be dissolved in 1988

Manu (vocals) will continue to perform with an orchestra.
Hervé and Jacques (guitar) will do various musical experiences in groups and orchestras
before being joined by Frédéric, former bassist but on vocals and will form "Replica" group of covers of Van Halen, AC-DC, Deep Purple… and will perform in bars before separating for professional reasons.
Joe (bassist) will try his hand with a cover band of Martiques then a band of Metal from Marseille.

Thierry will perform in bars in the Antibes region.

Albert will stop the drums!

The group takes advantage of this biography to thank all those who participated directly or indirectly in the adventure, namely:

Andrieux Olivier, Blanc Philippe, Drome Thierry, Parenteau Jean-michel, Vidal Jean-pierre, Gleize Yann, Elefante Stef, Blanc Daniel, the late Augier Philippe and Rieu Philippe ... Pardon those who have not been mentioned !
Without forgetting William and Ginette without whom this adventure would not have been the same !!

On January 3 the group is found for a mini session. The guitarist Thierry Tornes was missing.
The group is reworking all the titles for a future session.

Contacted the band, but they're not as cooperative as I hoped.

An old interview in Greek where they confirmed that their first demo was released under the name Sacrificial on tape in 1998, fortunately:

Translation from Greek to English of confirmation:
The band started in 1998 as Sacrificial. We released a promo tape called "Dethroned" in the style of Blasphemous/Vecherite.

Aloof: You mentioned a rock band, Die Laughing in June of last year. Not sure if you were after the UK one that Paganius posted about, but there is a US one as well, based out of Nebraska. They had the songs "Genesis / Tired..." and "Silent Revolution" on the Midwest Metalfest compilation CD/Tape (1990) on Ground Zero Entertainment (owned by and songs compiled by Matt Roberts). He might have further info on them. The inlay of that compilation lists all band members (but I don't own the tape and couldn't find an image of it online with a quick search). Here is a song on YouTube with unrelated visuals and a discogs link to the comp.
