Needs research. - Svarta Änkan (Black Widow) / Electra
Location: Skellefteå, Västerbotten, Sweden
Genre: Heavy Metal
Band members: Jörgen Lundqvist - Vocals, Guitar, Leif Nyström - Guitar, Bass, Per Wincent - Guitar, Göran Lidström - Bass, Robert Nyström - Drums
- They played a lot of cover songs, but also recorded original material. They uploaded tracks recorded in the '80s to YouTube, but it's unclear whether they come from an actual release. Also had a track called "Hold On" on a 1988 compilation, "R & R (Rock & Roll)." They were going by the name Electra at the time.

Discography: Demo '96, 'Demo '97 (4 songs each). Both available on Discogs, but the price is kind of high (though not insane). An unofficial tape is also listed, "Sombre Season" rehearsal 1997. The songs on their 2 tapes are - ('96): Coronach, Genevieve, Goodbye, Nevermore. ('97): Sombre Season, Genevieve, Forlorn, Orphan.

They're the only band of the 4 not listed on the site. Song titles sound promising, too: "Masochistic Personality" and "人斬り" (translates to "Slasher"). Compilation is from 2000, on Divine Records.

rRegarding From Nothing: Could a momodrator please listn to thei demo? It's namely mosttly grunge/alt rock in my opinion and not metal. The first song starts with a groove metal riffs, but it quckly turns to grunge with some groove influnces, the second song sounds like a combiantion of Plear Jam and Weezer and the last song is an acoustic ballad. The Rough Edge song is great. A couple of links that could be helpful regarding them:

Don Gosling (Facebook) - https://www.facebook.com/MasterOfTheProject/ (played in Rough Edge - didn't look much to make certain it is the same band. Maybe could be asked if they released a demo if he was from the same Rough Edge)
Here's a link to the report that was mentioned above. This same visitor has also offered very helpful reports about other NWOBHM bands, and so far has offered completely legitimate information:

The band From Nothing has been black listed and crossed off the list. The second song is kind of (bad) metal, and the first and third are more rock.

A testimony by a band member would be enough proof - musically I think they're good NWOBHM/Hard Rock based on the 3 songs, but could use another opinion or two just to be sure (as one of the songs is getting further into standard rock territory).

The main list contains more than 500 bands... impressive.
A campaign, every year, asking an effort to all the MA users with the involvement of zines, journalists, radios etc. etc. (a mail to all the possible sources with the link to the main list asking help to make this encyclopedia greater) can be an operation with a big impact.
This last thing can be done by a group of us, interested in the most obscure bands of the past (if you are interested i can start to share a big list with email addresses and contact form links of zines, radios etc. probably not all active but this is not so important and you can contribute adding others).
