Thanks - if anyone has a LinkedIn account and feels like trying to contact him about Firing Squad, a band that he once produced a 7" single for, that would be great. Could turn out to be NWOBHM.

"Metal Instinct" #1 (1990) 'zine review of a 2-song demo from 1988, translated from French to English:
This demo is already an antique but is still worth the chronicle that we devote to it here. Composed of two tracks, this honest production (slight lack of relief for the rhythm anyway) presents us with classical but effective compositions. Evolving in a hard US register, CRISTAL, if it still lacks originality, largely fills this gap with a certain enthusiasm. Case to follow ....

Anyone who is able to find enough information about the bands that I've posted in here (most of them are from page 40, onward), feel free to submit them. They're not reserved, though for other users who post bands they are - unless you talk to them, and they are fine with you making the submission. If audio is found but no photo of a physical copy, even if the full track listing isn't known, a screenshot of a partial conversation with a band member where they mention that they released a tape or CD (which has sometimes been done via Facebook, and can then be uploaded to an image site like imgur), ideally with details of distribution, would suffice for evidence. If there is proof of the release physically, a 'zine review that clearly describes their sound as being metal would also work instead of audio. One way that audio samples of extremely rare bands have sometimes been acquired is by contacting contributors/owners of the release(s) at Discogs, to ask if they can send samples of the music.

A highly-recommended tool outside of Google to find information on '80s - early '90s metal bands are the scanned-and-uploaded zines on the Corroseum website. You can search by band through their database of fanzines. These results don't turn up on Google, and some bands featured in the 'zines have little or no information available online. Interviews might help to straighten out some facts and timelines, mention other bands that members played in, and lead to other interesting finds. Reviews from them can also be used in submissions. A list of other similar sites where old fanzines have been uploaded and are accessible to read are linked at the bottom of the page.

https://thecorroseum.org/fanzines/index.php

For zine articles that are printed in a language unfamiliar to you, taking a screenshot of the text, and then submitting the photo to this image-to-text site ( https://www.prepostseo.com/image-to-text ) could also prove to be a useful suggestion.

For bands with expired websites - such as MySpace, or an old homepage, try entering the URL into this site in order to see earlier versions of the page, which might include details or information on releases that aren't shown on their current homepage or websites. Sometimes information about releases, as well as band/logo photos, etc. can be found this way.
https://archive.org/web/

It would be greatly appreciated if you post information that you happen to have or are able to find regarding bands in this thread, even if it's not yet enough to add the band, or if the information is that a band on one of these lists shouldn't be searched for anymore because they either played in a style aside from metal, or it's been confirmed that they had no official releases.

Some more info/ideas here.

Many thanks for help in researching!

Interesting comments there:
L1 (month ago): Can you tell me about the members of Vampanera? Wasn't NAVE a member from the beginning? And Julie left? Was it in 1997?

Takamidori san (1 week ago) NAVE (myself, now 'Takamidori san') joined in the middle. And guitarist NAVE withdrew sometime after Julie. Was it around 1999? We weren't very popular but I'm glad you remember us. Thank you very much.

manabudark Dix (2 years ago) great !!!!! (* ω`人) Can I ask you a question !!! Do you have any of Vampanera's demo tapes, I'm only aware of the one. (ZERO)

Takamidori san (1 week ago) Are you a fan of Vocalist KIZAI? She seems to be active still. Thank you very much. I'm sorry but I have no cassette tapes nowadays. . . haha!

Postdata: Alleged that dude has it. Do you think you can register on that page and contact him directly?

Regarding Vampanera: I think, aht when there is a proof of valid release for at least one demo and five full songs, from which it is obvious , that the band plays metal, that the band could already be submitted. I wold like to get a moderator's opinoon on this, since in case of a positive answer, the user could be contacted to directly submit it.

The NWOBHM list 2 posts up is now edited and ready to go - feel free to name off bands that shouldn't be on the list, either because they are more rock than metal, or are on the site already, and I'll make updates. Some are likely already blacklisted. It would be great if audio samples for bands that are more in the rock vein could be provided. I'll begin to go through the list also, as I get the chance. Note: bands with the city listed beside them usually indicates that there's a band by the same name on the site already, or another one is known. If other info is found, like members or relevant links, I'll add that info to the list as well. Thanks for the help in going down the obscure NWOBHM rabbit hole!

Just saving the lyrics here before deleting the Cycorax entry. Will keep an eye out for this.

Spoiler: show
SENILE DIMENTIA:
You can't remember what just occurred
But you remember tales of long ago
Can you remember what you just heard
Senile Dimentia is taking control

Your mind is void of recent events
Now sent to haunt you dimentia is sent
As old age creeps nearer madness sets in
You will play my game there's no way to win

Senile dimentia will send you insane!

You can't remember what just occurred
But you remember tales of long ago
Can you remember what you just heard
Senile Dimentia is taking control

THE DARKEST FRIDAY:
Burden of the mighty cross
Upon the martyr's back
Pain and agony of life

Walking slowly to his death
With his own cross to bear
Life to death to silence

The cross is raised high above
The common peoples heads
Jesus Christ is crucified

For centuries the cross is left
To rot and then decay
A symbol of life

Jesus Christ is crucified
Upon the bloody cross
The nails rip his flesh

The agony of metal
Piercing through his bone
He will be destroyed

Looking down the cross
Onto the sodden earth
Blood drips from my palms

No way to escape
My destiny is set
Jesus Christ is crucified

High above the people
My body lies at peace
The eternal martyr

Religious blood drips fast
No miracle can save
My infernal death

Ascending to the heavens
Shrouded in a mist
I will return!

Await the second coming
Rebirth of my soul
Pray for death

Arising from my tomb
I cannot be destroyed
I return with a vengeance

Evil winds rip through me
Distort my purest soul
I will be destroyed

- this has to do with a name change from Khoang Cach to Bao Tap (https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Ba ... iscography). 2 demos were released under the Khoang Cach name (though format isn't listed, so this fact should be looked into, for proof). One is attached to the Bao Tap page and needs to be removed, but has a review attached to it. If information for this band can be found and they're able to be added, I can merge the release and keep the review in tact. Otherwise, I'll have to remove the release from the Bao Tap page and leave Khoang Cach release details in the additional notes for Bao Tap as they are.
I'll leave this report open for now:
https://www.metal-archives.com/report/view/id/761865

- July 21 update: Since it looks like this band isn't going to be quickly added, I'm going to close the report, delete the release, and save information about it here. The review has been sent back to user TomekVinmovskyi, and can be seen and possibly extracted from there in the future if Khoang Cach is able to get a listing on the site.

Lyrics:
Spoiler: show
Track 1 "Sa lấy nhớ nhớp" 04:23
Sa lầy nhơ nhớp
(Chiến thắng của Quỷ Vương)

Luỵ mê ùa sặc sụa trong đêm
Ta giãy giụa trong tận cùng cuồng sảng
Lồng ngực găm ngàn lưỡi dao hồi ức
Xiết cổ ta-những bóng ma chập chờn.

Xám xịt, loang lổ -thù hận trả,vay.
Tội ác , dối lừa dâng đầy đôi tay.
Ta chốn chạy trong mê cung thảm khốc
Mỗi bước chân thêm một tấc sa lầy...

Chorus:
Sa lầy nhơ nhớp
Sa lầy bế tắc
Sa lầy tội ác.........

Khi sinh ra quỷ dữ đã chọn ta
Nhơ nhớp gặm nhấm từng tế bào thịt da.
Gục trên vũng huyết, linh hồn lạc nơi cạm bẫy.
Hoang hoải xé cào, rễ Cây Ác bám trong tim...

Ta chẳng thể là chính ta !!

back to Chorus.

Than ôi !

Track 2 :
Đoàn khúc "tuyệt vòng" 04:30
Verse 1:

Một chiều mưa áo trắng đưa nhau
Bên kia đời tình buông nửa vời .
lần này đây đã hết cho nhau
Thôi điên cuồng thịt da rã rời .
Người về đâu dứt hết thương đau
cuộc tình mau bến đưa tuyệt vọng.

Chorus:

Người rồi theo tiếng hát qua môi
Ghé bến hư vô
Ao' trắng khăn sô có đâu não nề .
Phòng lạnh giá môi xô nụ hôn
người nằm đó xin cho được yên .

Verse 2:

Còn tìm đâu áo mắt thanh xuân
Ấp hơi nồng trên da thịt người .
Ðành vùi sâu số kiếp không đâu
Còn lại đây khối trơ tuyệt vọng.

back to chorus

(lyric : Pham Phuong )

Regarding the NWoBHM list:
Spoiler: show
Non-metal bands:
Horsepower- actually slightly bluesy hard rock and originally an american band. I have alrady blacklisted them years ago, judge for yourself:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kcUISAHVeRk100 Proof- Christian hard rock, already blacklisted.
Wrathchild - actually Wrathcild UU.K., a glam band
Ace Lane - hard rock, on Mausoleum Records
Skintite Savage - glam/hard rock, already removed from the Amethyste list
Neon Spirit - hard rock, recently rejected
Headbangers - boogie rock like Status Quo
After Hours - hard rock

Regarding Twisted Ace: The song I Won't Surender sounds like pure NWOBHM and the send song, firebird, has more hard rock influences, but is still heavy enough imo. I wonder, why they were rejected:

Probably more rock than metal by the site's definition, but feel free to bring it up in the appeal thread if you want to try adding them. This other song has a strong AOR influence:

You're welcome. Have updated the list - the 2 Warrior bands left on there are different. Here is a full breakdown of UK bands named Warrior (probably far from complete):
- Warrior (NWOBHM from Newcastle upon Tyne (on Metal Archives)
- Warrior (NWOBHM from Chesterfield - released "Let Battle Commence" album in 1980)
- Warrior (Hard Rock from Essex - released "Don't Let It Show" 3-song 10" EP in 1980)
- Warrior (NWOBHM from Burnley - their song "Still on the Outside" was on the New Electric Warriors compilation in 1980)
- Warrior (NWOBHM from Newport - on the list, nothing yet known)
- Warrior (NWOBHM from West Sussex - on the list, nothing yet known)

Yeah, you are right, I have posted them mainly to avoid confusion, since the are listed as nwobhm on the British Warrior page here in the archives. If If I may ask you, could you please blacklist all bands, which were excluded from the list ? Some of thethem already are, but I'm not sure for example for the two Warrior bands.
Spoiler: show
Here is another anone, Ezy Ryder and their album Powr, psychedelic hard rock:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=su_rijJzvTw )
Eazie Ryder- quite hard rockish, Ican't find the song Motorbikin from A side:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DdskAPTc-Fk
Alec Johnson Band - hard rock:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JcUCY-LSWl8
Oakenshield- if its the same band as on the AAmethyste list, then it's folk:

Spoiler: show
Please give up with this list. Most of the bands on this list are not NWOBHM as defined by Metal Archives

Some names can be very confusing as many bands have the same names. For example: Fallen Angel , Crossfire, Rough Justice (ponad 40), Sidewinder, Zeus, Warrior, Raw Deal, Pegasus, Stallion, Freeway, Avalon, Prowler Gipsy, Zenith, Venom, Traitors Gate, Golgotha, Vengeance, Predator, Cobra, Thor, Axis, Savage, Lone Wolf, Sentinel, Fugitive ... and so on.

More interesting from your point of view may be those bands that are not yet on this list. Here are some examples

Thanks, Zygmunt - definitely appreciate the great information you've added to the site and hope for more in the future. If you feel like submitting any of these bands with a picture of the tape and a couple of audio clips or zine article, it would be awesome.
