thanx for the links to Whistful Mind.... I see there are other albums and demo uploaded. we need to check them all

As for bands from Madagascar:

yes, I knew that link for Inox, but I remember in my old archives there were more songs uploaded when they played pure power / heavy back in the 80's (they were active from 1985 to 1999 and reformed in 2013 with a different line up and possibly softened their music style): I had a lot of pictures and articles from newspaper about them and other bands.
Same for Ferita Metalifera: active from 1984 to 1986, don't know if they have demo recordings.

Löcöm/Lokom/Lokömotiva (formed in 1986) have for sure a VHS video and a cassette with several studio recordings made between 1987-1988 when they were pure metal. Then a CD (that I saw on some forum) recorded in 2013 ant titled "Mpivahiny" where - if I remember well - they range from AC/DC style to metal and some speed moments.... I had few songs, lot of images, tons of newspaper articles (an archive of around 1000 images) from the Madagascar scene from the 80's to early 2000's but it's everything in my broken hard disk (where I had an archive of around 1500-2000 bands/demos not yet listed here, including also hundred of photos of demos which are only listed as "additional discography" for bands already included). When I have mney to fix it - it takes 500 euros to repair it - I hope to rescue all those information and share with you all in order to expand researches and get proper information

But I guess it would be really hard, nearly impossible to get a whole picture of such scenes in a near future

Yeah, I saw some tapes by old "rock" from NEPAL bands when I was living in Kathmandu in 2011 as all my friends overthere are into rock and metal... but at that time I couldn't care less.... here's a small list of bands I am aware of. Cobweb released many tapes and CDs but they softened their style from album to album (I also saw them playing live): they may have been harder on the first tape 1993 but I never found any samples, while it's not too difficult to find pictures and samples from their many other releases. I include them in the list, anyway: we never know...

Needs research. - Wrath of God
Location: Greece (Athens, Attica?)
Genre: Power/Thrash Metal
Band member: Kostas Manopoulos - https://www.metal-archives.com/artists/ ... ulos/20669
- their song "Who Is the Master?" is on the "Power Feast Vol. II" 1993 compilation tape. Most of the songs from this series of compilations come from demo tapes, but so far there hasn't been a release found for this band. I'm not 100% certain that Kostas Manopoulos played in the same band called Wrath of God that is featured on this compilation, but it seems likely (it was in his unlisted bands). He was playing in bands based out of Athens, Attica at the time, which is where that best guess for location comes from.
- https://thecorroseum.org/hellenicsteel/ ... east-2.php

Kostas' son also plays heavy metal, and maybe could help out with further information about this band:
https://www.facebook.com/yiannismofficial
- message sent Sept. 11. No response.

This is an acarticle about the history of heavy metal in Nepal. According to it, Wrathchild only olayed heavy metal covers:

Regarding Mandrágora, Marc Puig (from the "D" EP that's in your drafts) on Facebook -

Bandcamp page of a recent / likely still active band of Luis A. Moss from the Metal Archives band by this name -

Maybe one of them could be of help.

"Live and Banging - In Sanjoaninas '99" Live Demo Tape

In a review (see the last link) it is said the live demo has 4 songs: all these songs have been listed and reviewed off the 6 they played at the live event
The first two songs of the set were apparentely not included on tape due to technical problems with the mixer.

But on the bandcamp page shown on the first link below, one song not reviewed on the article has been uploaded: is it one of the 2 songs left off or there was a mistake by the reviewer at the time?

Yeah, I saw some tapes by old "rock" nepalese bands when I was living in Kathmandu in 2011 as all my friends overthere are into rock and metal... but at that time I couldn't care less.... here's a small list of bands I am aware of. Cobweb released many tapes and CDs but they softened their style from album to album (I also saw them playing live): they may have been harder on the first tape 1993 but I never found any samples, while it's not too difficult to find pictures and samples from their many other releases. I include them in the list, anyway: we never know...

ah, one more curious note about the nepalese metal scene. When I was living there from September 2010 to january 2011 (if I remember well), most of the bands released songs, promo, demo, ep or even full albums or mini only through mp3 for iphones or laptop use, as very few people had enough money to print them even on a cheap home made cdr.

But the most enterprising guys, being not members of the band themselves, were able to put them on cdr and use some promotional picture or logos as front cover: these cds were then usually sold as front + back cover with a simple tracklist and cheap blank cdr inside a plastic bag. I worked for some time with many of these guys, at a stall in Mahabouda Square selling local and international (burned) rock music for a couple fo months. I don't know if it could be considered as a form of "distribution" or not. I only remember that band members coming to visit us or just drink a beer or have a talk together never complained about it...

Thanks. Since most of these bands had been previously individually listed with less information, I made a separate Baldadeath research list, and will copy and paste the bands that don't have much additional information, like a draft that includes band members, artwork, etc. in there: viewtopic.php?p=2992008#p2992008 It can be reached from page 1 of this thread, along with the other ever-growing lists.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cBvCyl6 ... F&index=91
Regarding Crescendo In Hell: TThere is a metal and from Madagascar called Crescendo. It is possible, that it is the same band or that it is shomehow related to that band. samples are here:
https://www.youtube.com/user/riffeurdae ... shelf_id=0
Regarding Under Thhe sun: Yes, this is heavy/power metal with female vocals- one song:

Their 2003 album, absolutely not metal, one hard rock song, the rest is pop/rock.
Regarding Milisiaah: I have listened to all songs on their Reverbnation and the yare certainly a pure metal band,no ballads or pop stuff here, but thrash/groove metal with influences from everything from Metallica and Machine Head to Sepultura and slayer. So if thre's a proof of valid release..

the problem with bands from Madagascar is that they last for decades, sometimes with long hiatus and they easily range from early heavy metal (at least in imagery and gimmicks, considering the scarcity of audio sources) to slow rock ballads in the mature years. Even Red Metal, recentely included have speed-thrash albums (sometimes bordering doom metal or even black metal) and in the COUNTLESS videos online they just play soft rock or love ballads.... mah...

Witcher, if possible just let me know from the stuff that Baldadeath recently added if any should be deleted based on the clips that you found, and from which list (main or the separated list) if so. I can't keep up with everything that's recently been added in here, so just submit if you guys feel that there is enough info to do so - thanks.

O.K.
From the main list shuld be deleted:
mephisto- hard rock:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHQnYU51dyI
Dekapy's Band- They have some heavy metal songs on the albums, but none of their albums seem to be predominantly metal. They have about three metal songs on an album, the rest is hard rock/aor.
Wrathchild (Nepal)- the article clearly says, that they only played metal covers and did not have a metal material of their own.

Vegetarian Vampires and Dead Soul can also probably be removed too, since they seem to have been just a cover bands too. The article mentions, that they did covers of famous thrash bands. If they had orginal material released, that article would certainly mention it:
http://pokharamusic.blogspot.com/2011/0 ... pal-i.html

It should be also noted, that out of the Nepali bands with a cassette release posted here, only Parommania have heavy metal in their descripitons there. The others as described just as rock, in one case as hard rock.

From Balda's list:
Ambondrona- not metal at al, pop/rock with a few hints towards hard rock.

Bismak- aor

It shuld also be noted, that all the Facebook pages for bands from Madagascar are official, so if bald or any other user with a Facebook accounts wants, he can contact the bands directly and ask about their releases.
Cedra shuld also be reoved from the main lsit- that's just funky hard rock:

Thanks - it's been updated. These 3 bands should be submitted, as there is enough information for them to be added to the site. We don't want this thread to be cluttered with bands where research is at a standstill, yet are already at a point that they can be added. No need for full track listing in the case of Nemesis. Bands from the main list are reserved for the person who originally mentioned them here for a week after it's been brought to their attention that they can be submitted (outside of the ones that I post here, which can be researched and submitted by anyone).

Nemesis (Kırklareli, Turkey)
- self-titled demo (1994, cassette; includes "Line"): https://imgur.com/SzmKkPC
song @ 21:57-26:29 here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bwK5b9L51VA

БезДна

(released this cassette in 1998: https://imgur.com/a/JgsQruG
and at least 5 other full-length albums)[/spoiler]

A lot of additional information has been added to the bands on the NWOBHM research list over the last week or two - locations, band members, audio, photos, etc. Anyone interested can do some more digging there and submit bands if you're able to, or post additional useful information here, as there are still a ton of bands from this great early era of heavy metal that remain in almost complete obscurity.

In 1988 Sweet n Innocent was formed. More power metal than thrash but heavily influenced by Iron Maiden, Saxon and Judas Priest. The band went on to play countless gigs , supporting bands such as Wolfsbane, Girlschool, Xentrix, Helloween and Paul Di'anno Killers.
Paul Di'anno shared the stage with the band at the Oval Rockhouse in Norwich, and sang Prowler. Sweet n Innocent appeared on Radio 1s rock show 3 times, and had their video, "Life Is Hell" played twice on mainstream TV programme" Raw Power". The band split in the mid 90s.
2000 saw the formation of Insaniac - a punk metal band with newer influences such as The Backyard Babies, The Wildhearts and all things rock n roll ! Insaniac spent six months in the top ten of Radio Ones unsigned chart and enjoyed playing many gigs including a full UK tour with American band Evil Jake.
While Insaniac was still going, Errol and Jay met up when Jay was looking for someone to jam with after quitting his London band.... Errol wanted to play some of the riffs deemed too heavy for Insaniac. Killer Hurts was born.
