Thanks, Antioch. So there was good reason why I hadn't heard of those 3 bands, I guess. Crossed off the list. Appreciate you finding those links.

I hope that this short information that I decided to send will help in verification and help in further research.
(note: post has been edited and added to since its original form. Link available to this, within its own category in first post of the thread.)
If it can be verified that a band on this list didn't have any release, please let me know and I can move it to the bottom of the page.

VENUS - (if enough information to submit is found, please allow user BuriedUnborn to do so, who brought them up in here a while ago) -
Roberto Armada "Skippy" Barredo was one of the founders of Venus, along with Miguel Rodríguez (g) Julio Rojo (g), Héctor Volta (dr) and Jesús Jardines (voc).
Here is the list of musicians that played in the band Venus:
Jesus Jardines- voc
Jesus Fonseca- voc
Dionisio Arce- voc
Carlos “Koky” García- voc
Tomaides Cobas- voc
Gustavo Fernández- voc
Miguel Rodriguez „El Muelle” Darias- g
Julio Rojo- g
Ulises Seijö Valdez- g
Carlos Alberto Arboleya- g
Roberto Armada “Skippy” Barredo- bg
Jorge Luis Barba- bg
Barbaro Cuervo- kybds
Hector Volta Calzadilla- dr
Rodolfo “Rodolfito” Rodriguez - dr
Frank Marticorena- dr
(additional notes): Venus was reactivated in October 1988.
While the group was inactive "El Muelle" (guitar) and Hector (drums) started working with other bands, so Frank Marticorena takes the position of drums, while Ulises decides to take full control of the guitars, forming a quartet.
They thought about changing the name to come out as a new band and unnoticed, but they realized they had to continue what they had already started because VENUS meant a lot in the national Rock/Metal movement and they needed to bring it back to its place, besides, why hide when there are already other bands playing in public?
The decision was taken and they started again.
The band concentrated on creating new songs, (although they had already been working on this before the split), with Ulises mainly responsible for ideas, as Humberto Manduley, due to personal problems, did not continue with the band (from 1982 to 1985, Humberto Manduley collaborated on some pieces of the repertoire (Amenaza nuclear, Pershing, Del metal más duro, Los enemigos del mundo, Después, Lobos solitarios), although they also had other well remembered pieces such as Desconfianza and Apocalipsis. They starred in the documentary Ojo de agua (1988, EICTV.)
The line-up of the band changed from time to time, as "Diony" would leave and return for various reasons, making it very unstable, and the group often had to look for replacements who never became part of the band.
In the meantime, they continued to participate in radio shows, recording some of their new songs in Cuban TV studios thanks to acquaintances and touring in various venues that they managed themselves.
On one occasion, Ulises decides to add a keyboard to the band to enhance the songs and brings in keyboardist Barbaro Cuervo (who officially joins the band), which caused discontent among the other band members. In early 1990, the band became increasingly "hot" due to divergences and contradictions, which led to "Skippy" and "Diony" leaving the band to form another band with a more aggressive metal character, leaving Ulysses in charge. They were replaced by Jorge Luis Barba (bass) and Tomaides Cobas (voice).
The group remained active, but not as before. Besides, the departure of the last two members had an impact on the band's image, they identified themselves with the audience in such a way that Fans no longer perceived VENUS the same way.
On the other hand, they no longer participated in radio broadcasts or recorded new songs in any studio, they only gave occasional performances and had to leave the rehearsal site at Casa de la Cultura de la Habana Vieja to move back to Frank's house.
In mid-1993, Ulises decides to disband the band.

VICEVERSA - The band was founded in 1991 with https://www.metal-archives.com/artists/ ... res/291805 as vocalist and https://www.metal-archives.com/artists/ ... era/926789 . Angel Luis later played for Challenger.

VORTEX - Progressive Heavy metal from Camagüey. Disbanded shortly after Raciel's death, in December 1994, in a road accident. Raciel (also of Karma, Láser, Metalaxia) was a member.

THE WINDOW - A band founded by former Lignum Crucis musicians Carlos Estevez and Angel Ortega and Erich Gómez Martínez, later in Agonizer.

ZONA OBSCURA - founded in January 1993 as Omega

Thanks for the info, Zygmunt!

Airzez, good catch that their first release was under the previous name. Hopefully they can give a couple of final details so that it can have its own page. In case you or anyone else is interested in seeing some similar cases where a release or recording exists under a different name than what is on the site but further details are needed, here's the ongoing list - these bands not included in the main alphabetized one -

Submitted without ANY proof back in 2013. Artworks looks too professional for a fake, so it was likely released in some form.
Needs proof of VR and samples.

Hey Pag,
The artwork itself isn't original (https://victorianweb.org/art/illustrati ... r/109.html).

Ah thanks! Well... Might still have been released.

Recorded a demo in the early '90s. Not sure if it was released or not. Part of the YouTube video is titled *release*, but that doesn't really mean anything.

I asked.

According to Marc Ritera, that demo recording on youtube was released on cassette and he also said he has put it on CD. I'n going to try to get more confirmation from him though.

Great! If he's able to confirm that it was released and distributed in at least 10 copies, feel free to submit. Screenshots always help with those kind of cases as well.

Needs research. - Cariostro
Location: Kansai Area, Japan. This is apparently not the same band as Kariostoro (https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Kariostoro/62510) who were around at the same time, but in Fukuoka to the south-west.
Listed Genre: Heavy Metal/NWOBHM/Hard Rock
Band Members: M.Suzuki:Vocal, J.Asakura:Guitar, A.Nishimura:Bass K.Kirita:Drums
Kirita is a former drummer for Gargoyle: https://www.metal-archives.com/artists/ ... irita/2082 and this was a band he was in just before his stint drumming for them.
Discography: Demo – Denim and Lether (presumably a Saxon cover?)/Goast Town (cassette, 1988)
Spelling is theirs. It’s not specifically mentioned as a cover band, but I guess that’s a possibility.

You can scratch Doberman (Japan) from the main list now BTW - they've been accepted as they've just reformed and released an EP so there were some samples on YouTube.

Needs research. - Internecine
Location: Belgium
Described genre: Death/Black Metal
Discography: "Funeral Rites" demo (1993, cassette, 15 min.)
- this was in someone's trade list that I am no longer in contact with. They told me that the band played death/black metal, and I've been looking around for close to 2 years for anything further, and haven't found anything. Could use some more supporting information.

Melodic Hard Rock with some metal elements. - Manewind
Spoiler: show
Location: Nordfriesland, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany
Described genre: Melodic Heavy Metal
Band members: Helmut Schütt (guitar, vocals, keyboard), Udo Schwertfeger (guitar), Erk Gregersen (bass), Werner Schlott (drums)
- they are on this split with less than 7 bands: https://www.metal-archives.com/albums/R ... avy/935655
Sound description at The Corroseum: "A quite impressive band from Leck, west of Flensburg, founded in 1988, who already got the Jury's attention at their first gig ever at a local band contest. During 1989 the guys most probably recorded a Demo tape, coz their songs "Crossroads" and "The irreversible law" was recorded for the local obscure compilation "The Desert's still alive Vol. II - Hard and Heavy", initiated by Hamburg's Metal Star mag, who picked up only Demo stage bands. Manewind easily slay all of the featured bands on that CD, offering a topnotch style of keyboard driven unique Melodic Metal with Prog Metal touch and incredible power (like "Final countdown" era Europe goes Heavy Metal)." - samples needed.

Needs research. - Dazzler
Location: Italy?
Genre: Heavy Metal
Songwriting credits: L. Bianchi, F. Botta
- their song "We Are Coming to Kill" was on the 1987 Italian "Dischi Noi Promo 2" compilation LP (more than 6 bands - only metal song on the compilation). Description of the song at The Corroseum says strong '80s heavy metal comparable to Stranger, Chastain, Crossbones, and not particularly original-sounding.

Added. - Dementia
Spoiler: show
Location: Bay Area, California (were originally from Kansas. One member later played in Wrekking Machine - https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Wr ... hine/24290 . I sent a message to their FB to see if more could be found out.)
Genre: Thrash Metal
- active around the late '80s/early '90s. Have seen them referenced in a couple of places. Found out today that they released a demo tape around 1990 (track listing unknown).

Needs research. - ᐯ丨ㄒ丨ᐯ 爪

While I'm awaiting the frontman's reply regarding The Lack of Motivation (above), here's a very curious Unicode nightmare.

Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Genre: Black/Death Metal
Credit: Kaliem Masochoth
Links: Bandcamp (WayBack Machine) | Spotify

This one was definitely eligible, his music was some very well-produced black/death metal, but seemingly slipped under everyone's radar, and was always set to exorbitant prices on Bandcamp. Just today, I found proof that at least one album was at one point featured on Spotify (second link), which technically should make the project eligible for its own page, but I found that he had since wiped his online presence entirely, with no samples to be found anywhere. I've tried Soulseek, bootleg mp3 sites, YouTube, SoundCloud, with no luck. Maybe someone has other ideas?

UPD 09/11: Here's a link for the artist's surviving page for another project and another dead Spotify upload: SoundCloud | Spotify
UPD #2 09/11: A black noise/dark ambient project by the same artist: Thothic

Needs research. - Tonca
Location: Norway
- their song "Breathing Lies" is on this 1998 compilation. The liner notes describe them as power metal, and mention that they have a promo CD out entitled "Breathing Lies". There is a little bit more information given in small print that someone could probably translate pretty easily.
https://www.discogs.com/release/1220209 ... r-Volume-6
Needs research. - Erling Solem
Needs research. - Necrosomething
- both from the same compilation as mentioned above, with a small write-up that can be seen in Discogs images. Haven't checked on these ones, but the comp seems to feature most or all metal bands, and these aren't on the site yet or blacklisted.
