(regarding Larval Mutation)
Members of the other bands that were on that split might know something, or it seems would likely have the CD. Maybe you've tried going that route already, but it comes to mind as one way to get ahold of their music and/or some further info.

However Janne have contributed a lot with info and material.

Just wanted to get the info correct.

Cheers \m/

Thanks for correcting that. I edited the former user's post so that false information isn't floating around in here.

By the way, do you know if the Dizzy (Swe) demo was released? It'd be nice to get that band onto the site if possible. Cheers.

Thanks!

I have about 3 Lucy (Swe) tapes with the Dizzy demo on B-SIDE.
From what I understand Lucy guitarist Johan Jansson produced or was involved with helping the band in some way.
He seem to have used old Dizzy tapes and recorded Lucy stuff onto the A-side.

That's all I know i'm afraid. Johan was also the one giving me some members names.

Yes, thanx, I saw it.... but it's unclear the relation between Raund and Martin... on the metalrus forum (or in another russian website, can't remember right now, I checked too many of them) it seems they are a direct continuation of the band, while everywhere else this connection is not mentioned. Anyway, listening to Raund's 1st and last album and reading about the second album, it seems they just play hard rock blues and the metal genere was abandoned before recording the 1st album. So, just the recordings on "Panorama '87" can be properly called "metal"

Needs research. - Turkish bands

Maybe some of these bands have been cited already, anyway this is what I have in my turkish folder.

Almost all of these bands and tapes are in the hand of the most famous metal collector in Istanbul: I met him 5-6 times during my frequent visits to Turkey and he never shared any information, not even the most basic one, not even a sampler, not even a photo, nothing at all. Avoided to reply to even a single question and he's just showing off his collection providing no useful information to anybody. Cool. Anyway, here's the list:

I also have posters with a lot of other unknown metal/thrash bands (Merciless Uncephal, Axe, Sacrificed, Exon, Charon, Twilight, Legacy, Tears, Vertical End, Protez, I.D.E.A. (Illegal Death Eliminate Action), Rampage, Vicious Circle, Pundick, Agi'n'Age, Disharmonic Flesh, Paranoya, Candlelight....) but I have no idea whethere there is any mention about possible demos or live tape released.

Plus, just one side note:

it's curious that in this list at the voice "Gurultulu Yerli Albumler" (which means "LOCAL noisy albums") it is mentioned the GRAVEYARD "Slabfest" tape: all the bands in that box are definitively turkish while I see on M-A that this band is from USA.... is there something wrong?

Thanks. I guess they had a couple of metal songs, but the vast majority of their music is hard rock, then.

Was it you who put in the visitor report that mentioned this band? Since it involved a band from Czechia and had a couple of misspellings, I figured it was witcher, and closed it out. Thanks for the link. Going to remove them from the list.

You're welcome, no problem. And no I didn't make that report nor I didn't know there was a report from this band, honestly. I just came in to help in this thread, because I had a lot without helping in this thread.

The group has not been active for a long time

They promised to record the album and release it in 1997, 10-track, on a cassette, it seems (its cover is in the article), but it is doubtful that they did it. Until that time they played "everything" for a while, until they switched to death

There are no known recordings from them.

they were also associated with the band Necrosis (some of the members played there at the same time), and also allegedly with Anubis and Necas.

There are bands which LOOK metal but actually they are - in the best case - (good) hard rock such as early Wolfgang, Bonehead, Razorback, RP.... don't waste time, I already checked them all.
Scum was the first grindcore band from Philippines: they recorded (and distributed) one rehearsal demo tape in 1992 but I have never seen any image nor found any song even if it seems it got some distribution at the time.

from Nepal:

I recentely spent 3 months in Nepal but I didnt find even a single music shop or a store selling physical music. I went to the archive of nepalese music where they scan, digitalize and restore albus but they do not share audios with the public. "Experts" from there are not even aware of the tapes I post here as most of them simply don't give a shit about heavy metal, so I couldn't find any useful info. I just post these bands according to the cover and artwork, being aware that it's an almost impossible task (but 1000 times easier than the Indian scene of the 80's and 90's which is absolutely impossible to discover and analyze, trust me that I have a list of no less than 50 demos and tapes released from the 80's to the late 90's with no info, pictures or samples at all). In general nobody has any knowledge about the history of heavy metal in Nepal except the few 10-15 names which popped out with Ugra Karma, Vhumi and onwards in the 2000's.

Who Duz released the album "Kebal timro lagi / The disaster of..." in 1992 who has a couple of heavy metal song but the rest is just boring rock.

Some bands who MAY look metal and you can see the images on Discogs of Facebook (Dr. Pilot, Scabbard, Crisis - punk - Banned, Crossroads, Newaz, The Gods, Matrix, The Sin, The Angels, The Bhomy Eyes....) are NOT metal so in case you come across them (good luck), just ignore. Other bands such as Atomic Bush and Karmavalanche ARE metal (progressive metal) but - as usual - it's difficult to find a proof of a physical release: my friends told me thay most bands are used to get burned CD-r sold on street stalls (and I worked in one of them in 2010 selling home made copies of everything) but I don't know if it could be accepted as a valid way to distribute an album. Anyway the Ep of Atomic Bush and Karmavalanche are metal and Holocaust (formed in 2002) released "The Gods of Death" album which is, obviously, unavailable but I had it back in 2010 on a hand-made CDr sold at some friend's shop. Plus Abattoir who released a CD in 2004, Nemesis a Demo CD in 2002 and the split CD Morgoth/Lost Onblivion "The Last Verse of Madness" in 2007.
.
As well as other 100% metal (or speed/thrash) bands who existed in the late 80's and early 90's were Wrathchild, Archeoptry, Beyond, Criss Cross, Incarnation, Maneater, Matrix ("Swapna" tape album), Metal Cross (appear on the "Rhythm" tape, see below and released the album "Navin" in 1993 and "Pari Ba Ma" in 2002), Num Skull, Night Mare, Vegetarian Vampires, Vivax (who changed name into Parasite).....

Good luck. Maybe if I move again to Nepal on September I will try to sort somethig out, but don't expect much. India and Nepal simply don't care about their old production and their metal history, even in case there was (more than) one to tell.

1) Needs research. - Cobweb
Location: Patan, Nepal
Listed genre: Hard Rock
Discography: "Cobweb" Tape 1993, "Anjaan" Tape 1996

Ok, they made tons of album and they are super popular. But they could have been a little bit more "hard" on their first two album (the ones posted here), the only ones being totally unavailable for listening (at least there are 3-4 songs in total taken from their next 8 album). Just a blind guess, with low hopes:

2) Needs research. - Facet
Location: Pokhara, Nepal
Listed genre: Metal???
Discography: "Grenades in Grave" Tape (year unknown, late 90's)

I asked dozens of big collector and researchers while in Nepal: nobody has ever seen this tape even if it's definitively a nepalese band. The only one who has it is also the only one who will never share it with anybody else on the face of earth. Nice artwork, anyway.

3) Needs research. - Paromania Band (aka Pyromania Band aka Parohania)
Location: Nepal
Listed genre: ?????
Discography: "Rest for a While" Tape (year unknown, mid/late 90's)

Same as No. 2: I asked dozens of big collector and researchers while in Nepal: nobody has ever seen this tape even if it's definitively a nepalese band. The only one who has it is also the only one who will never share it with anybody else on the face of earth. Another nice artwork, anyway.

4) Needs research. - Shristi
Location: Nepal / USA
Listed genre: Metal / Speed / Thrash
Discography: Two Demo Tapes

An interesting band, definitively described by his leader as speed/thrash. Apparentely he recorded everything by himself when he moved to USA for job in early 90's. Never shared anything even if some people in Nepal claim to have his two tapes. One song of them appears on the "Hope" compilation tape in 1993. On the same tape, also The Peace and Valiant were described as "hard and loud rock".... still waiting for a reply about a possible rip of all this matrial. Another song appears on the "Rhythm" compilation tape of the same year (see below). Definitively a must find.

5) Needs research. - The Bad Kiss
Location: Nepal
Listed genre: ?????
Discography: "Nashalu Hayan" Tape (year unknown)

Super funny artwork. So super funny that the 2-3 collectors who has it never agreed to send me I don't say a rip but even a handphone audio recording from a distance. And that's how knowledge is not shared with anybody. Looks promising

6) Needs research. - Vile
Location: Nepal
Listed genre: ?????
Discography: "Andhakar Yatra" Tape 2001

Looks interesting. They also appear on the super-appetizing "Rhytm" Compilation tape in 1993 along with Metal Cross, Snowmen, The Crisis (punk/corssover) and The Move (commercial rock, who released the album "Shiram"). Could be one of the earliest examples of nepalese metal in early 90's. I asked for a rip by the owner: he never replied.

7) Needs research. - Who Duz

Just a couple of songs are metal. Anyway I think the full tape is miracolously available on youtube

8) Needs research. - Zenith
Location: Kathmandu, Nepal
Listed genre: Hard Rock / Heavy Metal
Discography: "Chapter One" Tape 1992

They also released "Chapter Two": I lost the datas, but they were around 1995-1996. The first album was told me to be "very hard".... who knows what does it mean.... I hoped to judge by myself but the guy who has the tape (and all the others, by the way) do nos share audios, only cover scans or, in case of rare stuff, just sahitty photos.

This is even mysterious.... the only readable thing is "Дверь" (Door). I remember it was on sale from a christian metal collector on Ebay years ago. Never found any other info beside this microscopic image. Not even sure if it's the band name or just the album title

An album titled "Страх смерті" is mentioned

The group has not been active for a long time

They promised to record the album and release it in 1997, 10-track, on a cassette, it seems (its cover is in the article), but it is doubtful that they did it. Until that time they played "everything" for a while, until they switched to death

There are no known recordings from them.

they were also associated with the band Necrosis (some of the members played there at the same time), and also allegedly with Anubis and Necas.

Ok, thanx. Let's see if I find some information about Anubis and get a little bit deep into the ukrainan scene of the late 90's

Ok, this is quite a famous band in the valley of Klang. Marlinspike's next releases are towards more industrial/metal/alternative but in the beginning he told me "we were very influenced by metal, thrash and rock kapak".... so.... unfortunately I can't find any samples.

Here is also a mention of one of the participants:
https://kam-kray.ru/news/18217-31-avgus ... kinas.html
https://kam24.ru/news/main/20200210/72939.html

He is not mentioned in the tracklist of the 1987 demo, and the Khabarovsk '89 festival, so he obviously didn't stay long in the band.

I would also like to note that this team should not be confused with another group of the same name (Опасная зона), which operated in the same period in Magadan and played hard rock (there seem to be no records of them left).

Existed at least in 1987-1989, and released a demo in 1987/1988, which was subsequently re-released on CD... unfortunately, it is unrealistically difficult to find any information from those lands.

Needs research. - Ломбард

Listed genre: Hard/Prog Rock (early), Heavy / Doom Metal / Prog Rock (later)
Discography: "Ломбард" Demo 1982/1983, "Переступив порок" Demo 1983/1984

Somewhat borderline, although the second album is quite heavy.

Needs research. - Sinister Fiend
Location: Canada

https://mikeladano.com/tag/sinister-fiend/ (mentions them once among "the heaviest of bands", and again as having "Faith No More funkiness")
Drummer: https://www.metal-archives.com/artists/ ... ake/230486

Needs research. - M-10
- from a collection of almost all '90s heavy/power/progressive metal demos. No details known so far.

Needs research. - Chapter Seven / Chapter VII
- from the same collection of tapes. Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, US band. Visible titles are "The Question" and "New Age". Possible that the image shows two different releases, but may also be a case and the tape it belongs to, pictured separately.

Needs research. - Steel Legion
- not sure where they're from. Cassette from 1993, looks legit. Cover has a watermark on it so I won't post the photo. Song titles on visible side of tape: Evil One/ Riding in the Rain/ The Dream/ Once Upon a Time (Can't Find My Way Home)/ The Threat). Legion Records.

Needs research. - Steel Surprize
- another watermarked image here, so I won't use the photo. Tape release is "Power", and the cover has a picture of the band. Silver pro-tape. Looks older, I'd guess 1987-ish.

Needs research. - Vermilion
- from the same collection. Has a j-card. Title of the tape is "Directions". It's a shorter tape, probably 2 songs tops on each side (if there is anything on side B).

Added. - Merdiolence
Spoiler: show
Location: Florence, Italy
Listed genre: Death/Grind
Discography: "Fart of Doom" Demo Tape 1992

https://imgur.com/zdBZVyD

Quite a legend in Florence, existed from 1990 to 1992. The band before Cryogen with Filippo Frizzi and Matteo Bennici (also in Opus Malefici). They also have two rehearsal tapes before the demo ("Cazzi Tua" and "Rifatti i Cazzi Tua") where they played fun grind-noise while the "Fart of Doom" Tape is definitively more serious and totally death-grind oriented: soon after the demo, they will change name to Cryogen.

Also known as "MerdAiolence": a word-joke based on the italian supposed pronunciationm of the word "Merdaio" (which may have several meanin: "shitting place", "garbage", "shit", "something shitty"....) plus "Violence" and "Florence". Not that the original name "Merdiolence" has a proper or real meaning, eh...

I saw them both as Merdiolence and as Cryogen in Florence and I can confirm that during the (few) live shows and on the demo (that I sold many years ago) they were death/grind

A history of Merdiolence and Cryogen can be found here:
