The following bands from the California list can be removed (most of them because they are already on the site, and a couple for other indicated reasons). After they're removed, it is doubtful that any of them are any longer "possibly already on MA" like the note indicates, so depending on how simple it is to remove it from the ones remaining, it may save someone from going through all again:
Spoiler: show
20 Grit
Alter Ego SF
Angels in Exile
Annihilation
Becoming
Blacklist
Bled
Cage
Darque Carnival (from Nevada, but gigged heavily in CA, likely the reason for their inclusion on that site)
Deconstruct
Deities
Dementia
Detest
Divide
Exhumed
Exordium
Fiend
Funebre
Graven Image
Hate FX
Hostility
Insanity
Invicta
Kaos
Maelstrom
Malevolent
Mask of Sanity - California band not on the site yet, but this is listed twice. Duplicate?
Metamorphose
Method
Mutilador
N A M E
Near Life
Nephilim
Nihilist
Obsidian
PCP
Porno Pandas
Potential Threat S.F.
Poverty
Prevail
Prototype
Punisher
Ragweed
Refuge
Relic
Resistance
Retribution
Rott
Ruin
Scrap Metal
Sin
Soul Broker
Stagnant ('not to be confused with' lists them as hard rock, must have been checked before)
Stomach
Swarm
Taunted
Total Eclipse
Tsunami
Unjust (blacklisted)
Vile
Whipkraft of Vega Li
Zeitgeist

These bands can also be removed from the research list (they're all from the Seattlemetal.com archived page, and all quotes come from descriptions at their websites):
Spoiler: show
- Against (self-described hardcore)
- Carbon Based ("we arn't that heavy but some say its metal we're kinda funky and kinda trippy")
- Chief (not primarily metal) - https://1chief1.bandcamp.com/album/chief
- Failing Winter ("Sometimes edgy, sometimes quirky, post-Punk alternative rock that doesn't sound like what you've already heard.")
- Gravl Tung (pre-All the Hellbound, a blacklisted band. "We dig Korn, Tool, Godsmack, and Disturbed. We kinda think we sound like them, but no one else does")
- Jellyneck (nu-metal)
- Just Karma (already listed; formed in Guam, moved to Seattle. https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Ju ... ab_members )
- Magnificent Cell ("If Tool and Disturbed had a baby, when it cried this is what we would sound like.")
- Northwest Breeders (Mentors tribute band)
- Optimis Prime (having looked at the influences of each individual member on their website, this isn't worth pursuing)
- Painted Window (described as a mix of The Beatles and Soundgarden)
- Point 1 (described as a heavier version of (alt. rock band) Garbage, which I can see based on this live clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9fHUuodWv8w )
- Subjekt 2 Change ("Hardcore-Skate Punk with a Metal Edge.")
- The Great Disappointment (influences are 90% non metal. Not worth pursuing)
- Utterance ("Representing a newer trend in rock they fuse together heavy metal, alternative rock, rap, and electronica to form a musical phenomena worth listening to.")
- West of Waco ("West Of Waco is Punk Rock from Seattle.")

The Swedish band Dizzy finally has a digital release out:

It had been unclear whether the tape was released in the '80s. Dizzy will also have what is described as a "re-release" on tape this fall.

They are practically melodic hardcore based on this split. I do know they had more recordings judging by their mp3.com page, and the fact I have one in my computer which sounds like metalcore, but probably still too -core on second inspection. I will tag them out of the list as I also doubt we'll find any valid metal releases from this band. Thanks.

Forgot to mention I did all the research I could on these here fellas. Found a couple of songs which sound like metalcore/nu-metal, but in their rather big discography they claim to have played thrash and classic heavy, so it's just about finding the right stuff.

Thanks for the heads-up, though, I might try to contact Jeff Myers.

This seems to tell me that the band had some sort of record deal with a company called Crimson Fern and Triangle Music, but a quick Google search returned nothing. This could mean the band recorded something else.

There is an entry on Discogs and although it has 0 owners, the marketplace history lists one sale three years ago. Also the photo, while not ideal, also adds to its legitimacy: https://www.discogs.com/release/1454061 ... r-Distance This is good to submit.

Possible that it's either the Brazilian or Italian band by this name, but both are obscure and it's not easy to find out whether it's the case. Nothing other than the name indicates it to be. Logo isn't the same that either band used in 1994, when they each had a cassette release.)

For future reference, is it okay with you if whoever manages to dig up more evidence/info for one of your bands just submits it right away, balda?

I've listened to the 2004 album and it's mallcore. Removed.

Discogs almost always don't fail, long live Discogs.

You can remove Welrod from the list as I found a copy of their demo and it was accepted:

Digital Dreams can be removed. Melodic rock.

For the band Silver Flies, a link for this artist could replace his name where it isn't hyperlinked currently: https://www.metal-archives.com/artists/ ... ille/31277 - more information to go off of in searching for their music.

Needs research. - Asylum
Location: Amman, Jordan
Listed genre: Thrash Metal
Discography: Unknown

I recently submitted the band TerrorTower from Jordan. Their Facebook blurb says that they formed in 2010 under the name Asylum. As far as I can tell, they only released one EP under the name TerrorTower. However, this post on their Facebook references album artwork that they had used in the past that they were not happy with. It is unclear what band/release the artwork belonged to. It may just mean that they released their EP as TerrorTower with its original artwork and they swapped it out later. I think it is equally possible that they are talking about a release from when they were still called Asylum though. I have been trying to find any websites or profiles from their Asylum days so that I can investigate, but I haven't been able to find any. This post references an old Facebook page for Asylum but I can't find it.

The TerrorTower Facebook was active as recently as 2021 so there's a decent chance that they would respond to a message. I don't have a Facebook though. It's probably uncool of me to ask someone else to do the all of the footwork, but would anyone that has a Facebook be willing to reach out to them and ask if they released anything under the name Asylum, and do they have links to any of their old Asylum profiles?

Found this. Actually it's in my files since ages and I never found a complete tracklist (no idea if it's one track only).

Called BDM here: https://nowastedrecords.com/product/bli ... ife-forms/ There's a song there and I also found a V/A sampler containing a track from the album. Would say that tag is accurate (slam/bdm/goregrind, I guess). Feel free to submit.

For future reference, is it okay with you if whoever manages to dig up more evidence/info for one of your bands just submits it right away, balda?

Yeah, sure, no problem.... even because at the end of August I will go on travel for a year or so, so it will be not easy to keep following here

I would like to submit Blister Bleed but I'd prefer to find a tracklist first and additional info

According to this site, they originally released the demo in October 2013, so they prolly just re-released it with new artwork in Feb 2014, which is what that post is referring to.

On the other hand, the post you took the EPs tracklist from talks about them having just finished recording in December 2013, so whatever they released in October must've been something different and would've been released under their old name:

Needs research. - Landress & Lewandowski
Location: Florida, US
- songs "Hell Storm" and "Annihilation" from a 2009 collaboration demo CD are on Landress' YouTube channel. Not certain, though, if this should be classified as a band separate to Imperium and Serpent Sun, or just mentioned on each band's page and not researched further, considered a collaboration between the two bands. All available information at the moment is in this post.

That blog was a good find, thank you. I've at least got the names of some band members now and at least one is in another band. I'm going to try to get in contact with him and see if he knows anything about the Asylum years.

Needs research. - The Conrad Simon Band
AKA: Conrad Simon
Location: Canada
Listed genre: Progressive Metal/Shred
Discography:
- Instrumezzo (Full Length, 1996)
- Electric Mysteries of the Sky (Full Length, 1999)
- The Wrath of Con (Demo, 2005)
- Conrad Simon Band (EP, 2014)

This is a long one, sorry. I have attempted to submit this project a few times but got shot down and was asked to make an entry here . . . several years ago. Better late than never I guess. Conrad Simon is a Canadian shredder who's put out a bit of music since the late 90s. There are a handful of Conrad Simon songs floating around the internet. Some of those songs are metal, and some of them are non-metal shred in the vein of Joe Satriani. The issue with my submissions was that I couldn't prove that any single release was both predominantly metal and also released in an acceptable format. Details and everything I know about Conrad Simon as follows:

The Wrath of Con
Was released on CDr and it must have been available to the public in some capacity because there is a single sale recorded on Discogs:
https://www.discogs.com/release/1563112 ... ath-Of-Con

Music samples here, but only for 4/13 songs, and not all of them are metal:
https://www.broadjam.com/conradsimon

As I was writing this, I actually found music samples for the whole demo on this illegal MP3 site that I used to buy from until I realized it was probably, y'know, illegal. I don't think it really helps my case though. Some of it is metal, and a lot of it is not:
https://www.mp3million.com/download/Con ... 20Of%20Con

Conrad Simon Band
The rejection notes I got said that this release was more or less metal enough for consideration, but that there was insufficient evidence that it was ever released. It is also a very brief EP in a much larger discography that may or may not be metal.

It was an Indiegogo project that only made it to 40% of its goal:
https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/conr ... rt-album#/

There is one song from the EP on Bandcamp. The page lists the full discography as being 3 songs, but only one is published and available for download on Bandcamp:
https://conradsimonband.bandcamp.com/tr ... -ep-teaser

All three tracks are on YouTube, but that is not an acceptable release format:
https://www.youtube.com/@conradsimonband4636

The ONLY evidence I could find to suggest that it was ever truly released was a quote Tweet by Simon congratulating a fan for receiving their copy of the CD. Unfortunately the original Tweet by the fan was deleted, so I never got to see a picture of the CD or anything. I do not have a Twitter and Elon has locked me out for the time being, so I can't go back and find the specific Tweet by Conrad Simon. The Twitter is here though:
https://twitter.com/conradsimonband

Instrumezzo
I know practically nothing about this album and I have not heard any of its songs. The only page I can find is a tracklist on Rateyourmusic:
https://rateyourmusic.com/release/album ... strumezzo/

Electric Mysteries of the Sky
Again, never heard any songs off of this album. This shady lookin site apparently had MP3s you could download at one point, but they are gone now:
https://plotn08.org/conrad-simon-electr ... -sky-1997/

Some additional links:
Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/conrad-simon
Band website @ archive.org: http://web.archive.org/web/201508011207 ... nband.com/
Conrad Simon's personal website @ archive.org: https://web.archive.org/web/20110203052 ... lanet.com/

What I'm looking for at this point is evidence of an acceptable release of the 2014 s/t EP, and copies/downloads of the two 90s albums to see if they are metal. I'm going to try to contact Conrad Simon through Bandcamp, but I don't expect to get a response.
