"Moraalin vartijat" is listed as the album name on the id3 metadata. No track numbers were listed, and Google doesn't bring any conclusive proof that it existed.

Yeah, probably fine to remove.

D'Febians can be removed. VR and audio is available, just needs to be checked through to see if they have a metal release. Posted links in bands to be submitted.

Noice, I'll have a look.

Pag and I are in the process of extracting promising bands from this site. Expect some new stuff to show up in the list, the ready-to-be-subbed thread and/or MA right away.

Trashed (Mys?) can be removed. They just had 4 compilation songs, and spend a little bit too much time in ballad territory.

Trail (Swe) can be removed. Out-of-tune/key rock listed as heavy metal.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bgSn2sDmODg

TZ can be removed. From Corroseum description of their 4 songs, they had one really metal track and the other 3 were ballads.

Trial by Fire (New York, US) and Transparent (US) can also be removed - added.

I have this demo. Most of the band was actually from Baraboo, WI I believe, though the singer was from Madison. It's 80's style progressive metal (Queensryche, Fates Warning maybe?). What kind of research is needed?

Would it be possible for you to digitize the demo and share it?

The problem of Indian bands is that - when I was compiling the metal guide to India for another forum - I was aware of at least 40-50 demos/tapes recorded during the late 80's (mainly in Imphal, Manipur, Darjeeling/Shillong/North East) and mid 90's..... for NONE of them couldnt find any photo, samplers or whatever.... just mentions, few lines and notes. It seems nobody cares to make proper researches overthere. Or most of the material (expecially from the North East) simply disappeared. The only evidence for a physical release is the sole album of Hazzard (a funny glam rock band with lot of funny stories behind) who released their "Glam bam, thank you mam!" tape album in 1993 for Crescendo Records and re-released it digitally a few years ago on Amazon Music.

For the rest, I had a lot of band names, demo tape titles, cassette ep titles of thrash, death, metal bands (most of the thrash/death bands where based in big towns such as Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata) but.... nothing.... plus I lost the listing. Maybe the guy of Corroseum still has the drafts (incomplete, anyway) that I prepared before my hard disk crashed for good

Stranger Eyes are from Singapore. I had both the original "Rock Power" compilation tape 1988 and still have the CD reissue on MIK (a cheap sub-division of Life Records, mainly destined for very low-budgeted customers) somewhere at home. Until a few years ago the CD could be found mainly in indonesian immigrant shops and stalls in Chow Kit area, in Kuala Lumpur

Trashed, TZ and all those bands on the compilation come from Singapore. Nothing special. One good songs and tons of ballads for each of them

MegaPower recorded a 10-songs demo in 1991. One song off the demo appears here:

https://www.discogs.com/es/release/1780 ... ion-Island

Then, once moved to Belgium he recorded other songs.

With Cosmos (pre-MegaPower, 1983-1989) the drummer Jamal Obeidat just recorded 2 songs: "Ready to Rock" and one instrumental song, as he wrote me on one of his messages years and years ago: "hello. i am the guy who made mega power and most important in cosmos. all i have is what i left behind as mega power, cosmos has not much been recorded except of 2 songs, 1 cosmos instrumental. and ready to rock, unfortunatly i dont have those records, all i have is just mega power and some other projects i made here in europe but as a drummer only"

I contacted him years ago when I was planning a trip to middle east and he confirmed the existence of the demo. But, since then, I never wrote him anymore to get more info.

Thanks for that extra info, Baldadeath.

Sundelbolong that released "In Kafan" must be a different band, because the only known member of the one that were on the "Reincarnation of Immortality" compilation, https://www.metal-archives.com/artists/ ... u_D/456899 said that they just recorded that one song (not including some rehearsal tapes that artwork wasn't made for, and probably weren't released).

Hopefully Strangers Eyes will be accepted, as "Nelayan" is a great song of pure heavy metal. Appreciate the extra link that you shared.

The Sundelbolong (which comes from a popular local legend, "The ghost with a hole": there are a lot of movies released between Indonesia and Malaysia) who released "In Kafan" is this band here (I made a draft, but I have no details for the "In Kafan" demo). They were from Malaysia:

https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Su ... iscography

The logo is the same. And - it's a detail - one of their tapes also takes name from a famous indonesian horror movie from the 80's, "Malam satu suro". Black metal. Couldn't find any audio samples at the time but there were a couple of auctions on Carousell, as you can see in the submission notes. Maybe now some audio is available and those tapes for sale are gone. Need to check.

Edit: the tapes are still available for sale:

https://www.carousell.com.my/p/kaset-de ... 053997861/
https://www.carousell.com.my/p/kaset-de ... 1mZR1yVbb7

another photo is here:

https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid ... 0..&type=3

As for other malaysian/singaporean bands who need to be checked there is:

1) Gegaran '88 (with Medusa and Hurricane), Tape/Promo Lp:

https://www.discogs.com/es/search/?q=ge ... 8+malaysia

2) Gegaran 1995 (CD and Tape) but, as far as I remember, there aren't many interesting bands:

https://kinabatanganrockers.blogspot.co ... an-95.html
https://www.carousell.com.my/p/cd-1995- ... 114911270/

3) Selekta 1 (Tape/Promo Lp):

https://www.discogs.com/es/release/2632 ... -Selekta-1

There are samplers here and there on youtube, but I have no time to check right now

I recently purchased this compilation tape of Italian bands, Ematofagia Volume 1, 1997 from Discogs. It has one additional song for Psychic Dungeon who I posted earlier, and a handful of the other bands are not on the main site, blacklisted, or in this thread. The described genres on the tape are black metal, death metal, melodeath, gothic metal, and grindcore. Unfortunately until I have the tape in-hand I don't know which genres belong to which bands. I will digitize the compilation and update this post when it arrives. The tape is shipping from Portugal to the US though, so it may be a month or two before I get it.

Needs research. - Bathyron
Location: Italy
Described genre: Epic Heavy Metal
Discogs: https://www.discogs.com/artist/7205102-Bathyron
Music sample: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x97LmdSSwzY @ 9:43

Needs research. - Agonya
Location: Italy
Described genre: Heavy Metal/Hard Rock
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x97LmdSSwzY @ 20:11

Less grind, more core - Hatebox
Spoiler: show
Location: Italy
Described genre: Grindcore
Discogs: https://www.discogs.com/artist/338173-Hatebox
Discography:
Demo 96 (Cassette, 1996)
Demo 97 (Cassette, 1997)
Nuclear Grinder / Hatebox (Split, Cassette 1998)
Diamoci Un Taglio (Split w/ Kryptosexual Cancroid, Cassette 2000, CDr 2004)
Scream (Split w/ Plague Rages, Twisted Truth, and Hypo-Christians (Cassette, Unknown Year)

There are a handful of the above releases for sale at reasonable prices on Discogs. I /might/ buy some of them unless someone else wants to.

Submitted - Indastria
Spoiler: show
Location: Italy
Described genre: Death/Thrash Metal w/ Hardcore Elements
Discogs listing: https://www.discogs.com/release/7237856 ... ia-Looking
Music sample: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lBykxxvRtJg
Discography:
Looking (Cassette, 1997)

There is an Italian band called Indastria on the blacklist. However, on Discogs I can find several Italian bands named Indastria that are described as various genres of rock. I was able to find a Discogs listing for the demo 'Looking' (linked above) which contains the song 'Who Am I?' that is featured on the compilation I purchased, and is described as death metal. I think that the blacklisted Indastria was one of the rock bands, and that this Indastria is a new band. Are any of ye mod types able to look at the blacklist notes for Indastria and see if the blacklisted Indastria is the band that released this 'Looking' demo?

Hatebox was a one-man project ran by Fulvio, quite famous in Italy in the late 90's/early 2000. I saw him playing a couple of times: guitar+vocals+programme drums, bass and samplers. They also appeared on a lot of local compilationsm including the "Speed Kills" where there are featured also my best friends Necroferox and Burst of Noise whom we shared the "stage" several times. To me they do not fit MA, anyway I zipped a couple of split they did: more or less this is the style they played in all their other releases:

https://www.mediafire.com/file/8g6nmwrt ... e.zip/file

Indastria from Ferrara.... the name doesn't sound new. I need to ask one of my friend who was used to go overthere because he was involved in a lot of musical projects. But, if I remember well, they were a kind of industrial grindcore/noise/experimental

Slon: The research list says that this band has proof of release and samples. If that's the case, it can be submitted.
https://www.discogs.com/artist/1330727- ... 1%8E%D1%81

Belial (California, US) is listed as having VR, but I don't believe it to be the case with what's available so far. Same with Ahle Wurscht (Deu) - they were on a compilation, but VR for a demo hasn't been found yet. Both could be marked as no to avoid confusion.

Sorry, I'll have to delete Ahle Wurscht again and re-add it to the list. Paggy found another song and it's hardcore, so we're going to need the whole thing here. Perhaps there's something to the hardcore tag on ms.de...

Needs research. - Posthume (Mozambique)

From Dondo. Seemingly a drone/doom metal band. Released a compilation in 2010 titled "Before Existence: the Primal Creation". It was limited to 14 copies and had the next tracklist:
1. Dead Ancient Voices (09:13)
2. Buried Family (12:26)
3. Initiation (14:23)
4. Manège (13:41)
5. The Primal Creation (Unreleased) (08:40)

Need VR and samples, can't find either.

Location: Pennsylvania, US
Genre: Heavy/Thrash Metal
- Metal band that used to have 2 songs available for download on MySpace, circa 2006. Were active around that time/shortly prior. Both songs have different productions, and not sure if there was an official release. Have it on CD-R.

Regarding Altera, they're on Discogs and also have a 1998 release, "Emptyfaces." No audio found yet for either title.

Anatolia can be removed - Rock.

(same channel has 2 other songs from them in the same style).

One Altera song from the first demo "Pressure" can be found here:

And another from the second demo "Emptyfaces" can be found here:

As for Anatolia I would wait to get the full album.... I wrote to the guy in YT already 2 years ago to get the full songs, he promised to upload the full album but after the 3rd song he just didn't go further

From Dondo. Seemingly a drone/doom metal band. Released a compilation in 2010 titled "Before Existence: the Primal Creation". It was limited to 14 copies and had the next tracklist:
1. Dead Ancient Voices (09:13)
2. Buried Family (12:26)
3. Initiation (14:23)
4. Manège (13:41)
5. The Primal Creation (Unreleased) (08:40)

Need VR and samples, can't find either.

Can't fine either, but I found this page where they talk about Morghelarisy who recorded a demo in 2002:

https://www.okayafrica.com/terra-pesada ... que-music/
https://soundcloud.com/smarroquim
https://www.last.fm/music/Morghelarisy

and one more band:

Lost Grave (from Maputo, one of the many Magnus Madrugoth side projects): the tracklist printed on the back of the t-shirt - as well as the artwork in front - may led to presume they recorded/are going to record something:

More Magnus Madrugoth's musical projects: Magna and Magnus

Dark Necropoly as well as The Lost Grave were active since 2005 at least (Inox.... I don't know. There is a band from Madagascar active in the late 80's/early 90's and reformed in late 2000's releasing the CD "Mozika" in 2017):

anyway, the Mozambique scene is virtually unknown.

another example:

Scratch (strange song, btw):

https://soundcloud.com/brecordmoz/scrat ... lavi-tsika
http://metalencyklopedia.blogspot.com/2 ... metal.html

The problem of such bands is that it's almost impossible to establish a proper biography, discography, physical or decent digital releases.... African scene is still undiscovered for a good 70% at least

Does anybody have some information about this band? I see the CD reissue (on Till Your Death Records, TYDR030) is out since a few days:

https://tydrecords.thebase.in/items/76305556

Described as thrash-death, from Morioka City, Iwate Prefecture, formed in early 90's and released a demo in 1993. Unfortunately this is one of the (too) many label who do not share even a single bit of song for potential customers
