This needs research how exactly? It's also blacklisted, so if anything should be posted here.

King High can be removed. Found one of the demo '89 tracks that had aired on the Friday Rock Show, and it's hard rock.

This begs the question of how many bands make mock ups of what a back insert could look like without actually putting out a CD. I asked on the facebook page if this is from a CD, but have gotten no response. Would this be likely to be approved or blacklisted is what I'm currently wondering. Because if the picture is just a render, the band is streaming only.

Digital only. The back cover of the cd, as well as the front cover, are provided for those who want to create their own hand-made cd version

They previously released an Ep titled "Alter-ed Ego" (2016), also digital:

The band origins come from a previous project called Mysterhydden who released two demos ("Inviolable Exile" in 2003 and "Poetry of the Lost" (2005) plus one album ("The Omega Manifesto" in 2010) which remains unreleased on purpose.

Alright, but this still begs the question as to whether this constitutes valid distribution or not. Could a mod weigh in?

According to the review, it seems the band decided to distribute for free on Soundcloud and Youtube their release(s) for no profit. Maybe it can an be useful info

A digital artwork doesn't prove a CD was distributed.
Soundcloud-streaming and youtube-streaming are not valid forms of distribution.
Soundcloud downloads would be fine though.

Thank you for the clarification. I thought as much, so I'll forget submitting the band.

As for other bands, Sintyaxx from Italy is described as New Wave on discogs. Probably not worth purchasing.

Also, should Candiria be added to the list based on their first demo 'Inverted Kingdom'? Their other demo 'Subliminal' was enough to get them whitelisted (but not ultimately added). There's a request on HMR open for the demo.

Sintyaxx were prog rock or whatever.... they were from my town and I knew one of the band members because he came often to my friend's pizza shop just behind my house. not metal, not worthing.

Needs research. - Flagg
"Something Brutal Is Born" 1988 demo on Nijilist page may have first been released under the Flagg moniker.
https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Ni ... 3540529339
Location: Harrogate, UK
Genre: Thrash Metal
https://www.discogs.com/de/release/1017 ... al-Is-Born
https://www.youtube.com/@johnnyharp69/s ... y=nihilist

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

The rest of this post is bands featured on the Friday Rock Show - all demo tracks, all from the UK, and mostly metal / some rock. It's the portion of the show that had underground band's songs play.
https://www.dawtrina.com/music/frs/rockwar.html
Some of the episodes can be downloaded/streamed online.
Spelling errors possible, but fairly unlikely (it wasn't on the main page, but on the page beyond that that Prime Evil was labeled Primeval, but otherwise seems accurate). Only listed here ones that sound worth looking into based on the titles. None of these are on the site (with the spellings listed here, anyway). Got a start on the research for some of them.

1989 BROADCASTS -
Needs research. - Tranceplant - song "Legacy of Devastation"
- one of the members also played in Original Gravity and Under the Influence.

1990 broadcasts -
Needs research. - Grinder (Mullion, Cornwall) - song "Wasteland".
Genre: Heavy Metal, like early Holocaust.
https://www.metal-archives.com/artists/ ... son/334278 (vocals)
https://www.metal-archives.com/artists/ ... her/334282 (bass)
Kevin Leatham (drums - also of Breed, Who's on Top?)
https://www.metal-archives.com/artists/ ... bot/341217 (guitars)
(fill-in live guitarist, later) https://www.metal-archives.com/artists/ ... ams/334277
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qPdJPwqBAGE
They split up around 1990.
Full bio (scroll down) - https://web.archive.org/web/20130725014 ... bands.html

Needs research. - Nemesis (Redditch) - "Frozen to Ice" song (demo '90)
- maybe it's the pre-Innerstate band, which had a song featured on this same program. Innerstate were determined not metal enough for the site (picked up some funk/etc. influences), but maybe the Nemesis stuff is more metal. https://rateyourmusic.com/artist/innerstate-1
Cameron Dunham was in Nemesis from 1987-1991.

Needs research. - Near Death Experience "Commuter" song (demo '90)
Needs research. - Cyanide "Soul Is Free" song (demo '90)
Needs research. - Master song "Fallen Angel"
- verified from a member of Master (Cardiff, Wales, pre- https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Ni ... 3540386302 ) that this isn't them.
- might be this London, England band: https://www.discogs.com/release/1547434 ... -The-Light

Needs research. - Hatred "Eternity" song (demo '90 apparently exists)
Needs research. - Force (Newcastle) - 'Fine Lines" song (demo '90)

1991:
Needs research. - Cardinal Sin "Prisoner of Desire" song (possibly East Sussex band that's melodic hard rock and released "Black Horizon" in '93? Might be a different band.)
Needs research. - Revenge "Midnight in Paris" song (demo '91)
Needs research. - Silent Cry "Mandrake" song (demo '91)
Needs research. - Firechild (Grimsby, Lincolnshore) - "Vampire" song (demo '91) - https://www.youtube.com/@stevencrayn/se ... =firechild
2 members played in Dark Light soon afterward: https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Da ... 3540344792
first bassist: Steve Robbins
second bassist: https://www.metal-archives.com/artists/Russ_Kime/638870
guitars: Steven Crayn - https://www.facebook.com/stevencraynofficial/

Needs research. - King's Calling (Walsall) - "Liar" song (demo '91)
Needs research. - Phantom "Looking for Love" song (demo '91) (must not the one on the site, since they split up in '88, or the other 2 that are NWOBHM since they were also earlier.)

1992:
Needs research. - Igniter "Falter from Existence" - https://www.metal-archives.com/artists/ ... dling/1820 (bass, vocals)
Described as thrash on a few sites.
- more info here: https://alchetron.com/Jonny-Maudling
Other members were Jansen Ward (drums) and Richard Wilson (guitars). Played gigs around England, one of which was with Xentrix. They recorded 2 demos: "Fellowship of Madness" and "Falter from Existence". The title track of the latter features guest vocals by John Betambeau.

Needs research. - Splatterpunk "Satisfaction" - member: https://www.metal-archives.com/artists/ ... adman/8294 . Despite the name, very unlikely to be punk rock.
Needs research. - Damage "Aftermath" song (https://www.metal-archives.com/artists/ ... pin/942692 ?)
Needs research. - Sons of Eden "Out of the Dark" - https://www.youtube.com/@MrMarkDell/sea ... 0of%20eden - several songs here, haven't listened much yet. Mark Dell was a band member.
Needs research. - Afflicted "Storms Rage" song
Needs research. - GutterSnipe (Weston-super-Mare) "Parasite" song
Members: https://www.metal-archives.com/artists/ ... our/246871 - https://www.facebook.com/cneighbour1
https://www.metal-archives.com/artists/ ... eld/284500 - https://www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=101 ... 5922734917
Jim Harris (bass) - https://www.facebook.com/jim.harris.5439
Dan Skurm (sp?) (drums)
https://fridayrockshow.fandom.com/wiki/09_October_1992 (song is featured here in "pt. 2". Not super convincing, but could see them passing depending on how other songs sound).

Needs research. - Shocker song - "Tragic Truth"
Location: Ipswich, UK
Genre: Heavy Metal/Hard Rock with Thrash Metal influences
https://fridayrockshow.fandom.com/wiki/23_October_1992 (downloadable link of show here, song begins at 49:00.
Adam Murray (vocals), Neil Southgate (guitars), John Spaul (guitars), Rob Brown (drums), David Privot (bass) - uncertain of name spellings.

Needs research. - High n' Mighty "Down to Your Knees"
Needs research. - Filthy Rich
Location: Cambridgeshire, UK
"Demons" song
Members: https://www.metal-archives.com/artists/ ... ler/970060
Full lineup as of early '89, at a time after "Kitch" (linked above) was in the band:
Steve "Chick" Poore (lead guitar - https://www.facebook.com/chick.poore ), Den Michelson (bass), Trevor "Abo" Davie (drums), Pete Phillips (vocals - https://www.facebook.com/pete.phillips.77 ), Jon Wilson (rhythm guitar). Robert Ricard joined later - https://www.facebook.com/profile/1596309562

Apparently Saviour's material is included on a compilation CD, and sounds like rock. I think it's the first nine tracks of it.

Thanks. Just deleted those two.

Quest also removed - thank you.

Paramour can be removed from the research list. Music found, not metal.
Same with Seven Deadly Sings (7 Deadly Sings) - not worth pursuing, only known song is "Mama Don't Know". Unlikely metal.

Not a problem, I'll be going through all of 'em!
I think 'Quest' is 'The Quest'. Shares a song title on one album. Sounds like AOR. Same goes for the other album.

Yes - Vachteria looks like there are some valid digital releases. If it sounds metal and isn't reserved for anyone, go for it :)

Needs research. - Brawl (pre-Disturbed)

Hey, so I know this is about a band already on the site, but I asked if I could post this here and I was told I could.

https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Brawl/3540334057

So this is about the band Brawl (groove metal band that also happened to be a predecessor to the world famous band Disturbed). According to MA, they released a 4 track demo in 1994. However, there is no cover art, and it says that the format the release is in is unknown. There was a report even filed in 2015 asking about this and that seemed to be inconclusive. In fact, there seems to be some evidence to suggest that the demo was not supposed to be released, which means the tracks may come from a bootleg. That would mean the band should be removed. But I am not sure. Could anyone help to see if we could find more information about the release of this demo?

Does this still need to be on the list if the band is already listed? This is the only band where this is (without a doubt) the case. Has there been any updates?

Nemo (Azerbaijan) - found some live samples. Some of it definitely sounds metal enough.
Their Facebook has biography and looks like same person (former band member?) added this cyclowiki page, which lists three albums:
1990 - Двадцатая Весна
1993 - Город в огне
1995 - Bet Gladisant

So, they should qualify if at least one of the records above resurfaces somewhere, but I wasn't able to find tracklists or any other material evidence so far. Will keep my eyes open...

Other bands from Azerbaijan:

Definitely not metal:
Tadzh (Тадж) - pop rock.
Talisman (Талисман) - pop rock.
Debiut (Дебют) - rock.
Bez grima (Без Грима) - pop rock. Holy hell, this is bad...
Hurramity (Хуррамиты, Xürrəmilər) - folk.

Might be metal:
Shok (Шок) - very low quality record here. Sounds like it can qualify as metal? If so, will come back to them later.

Inferior is also rock, can be removed.

Sian is rock, can be removed.

Could be grind or whatever.... in the first compilation "Telaşa Mahal Yok! - Turkish Hardcore Punk Compilation" there are lot of varied styles, while in the second compilation there are a lot of grindcore bands, but maybe more on the punk side of grind

Can remove the 1990 album... it was recorded under the former band name "САД" when they were playing pop-rock. Only the 1993 and 1995 albums belong to Nemo, when they changed name and musical style towards hard rock / heavy metal

Anyway, I wrote to their FB hoping for a reply

In a VK channel, I also found Разум, still from Azerbaijan:

Some bands from Barnaul:

Денди (there is a voice over for most of the tracks, but towards the end we can listen to the song):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VvkOt2lpu6Q

Символика:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=daCKgLJbKzQ

Прессинг (Pressing): Album (!) 1990. Quite likely a reel-to-reel. Some metal solos and interesting songs but production ruins all, so I really can't judge:

Акцент (Minsk, Belarus): 5 demos/album released

This link redirects to a 1990 live song which is undoubtely metal:

https://vk.com/video530047131_456239042 ... 41cb5841e8

Same song can also be found here, where there are two more videos which are Акцент from Belarus ("Accent 10/1989" and "Accent 2/1989"). I wonder why people should translate into english to add confusion with tons of other bands with the same name. Whatever.

Here there is a bio with the full "Keepsake" album 1997. I think that in the beginning they were more heavy metal and then turned into more glam/AOR.

In the biography it's said they also played with Zero Nine from Finland (which is a good info) and split up in 1991. Possibly during this time they were pure heavy metal.
Then reformed in 1997 and that's where they likely started to play AOR.

I wrote to Bruno Kraler.... I think he's the guy I found on FB as he clearly comes from the same region

Moreover he also played in Darksky (promising name but no info) and Nightpride (already listed on M-A). One of those artists who doesn't put clear lights on his past, as it seems. And it seems he consider his old demos as not official releases: "No official releases exist with my time in NIGHTPRIDE and DARK SKY… only demos and Live-video-tapes.". Brainstorm are mentioned nowhere in any interview. Well, whatever.

Sent a message to the Disturbed facebook page. Let's see what the management or that poor guy from Warner who maintains the page got to say.

Well I'm not sure if they'll know anything about the demo but I guess they can ask Dan Donegan or the drummer since they both were there when the demo was recorded.

Does this still need to be on the list if the band is already listed? This is the only band where this is (without a doubt) the case. Has there been any updates?

Removed.

Never mind on BlackRiffSmash, it can be removed. It's mostly hard rock, not sure what I was thinking.

Needs research. - Medusa
Needs research. - Breed (related bands)
Location: Cornwall, England, UK
- Were both active in the '80s. May have been a name change, but Medusa came first, and some of their members played in Breed afterward. Members are associated with metal bands Chain Lightning and Grinder.
Known Medusa members: https://www.metal-archives.com/artists/ ... our/334286 (R.I.P.)
- Dave Hall (drums - much later played in 1/4-Pounders with Steve Glasson)

Known Breed members: Kevin Leatham (drums)
https://www.metal-archives.com/artists/ ... son/334278

Needs research. - Precinct-3
Location: Cornwall, England, UK
- first band of https://www.metal-archives.com/artists/ ... son/334278 . One of the other members was guitarist Mike Thompson. Nothing else known, but likely NWOBHM / heavy metal.

Night Stalker (UK) can be removed. It turned out to be the same band that are already listed on the site. Thanks.

Brazilian band Unsworn has a discogs and full length album available. Not sure if metal or not. There's a decent chunk of hardcore.
