I was about to submit Skies Beneath but noticed that both EPs use the same artwork on bandcamp. I know for singles this is a no go, but how about for full EPs?

EPs should be fine.

Just saying, I haven't forgotten about this thread. Just a little busy these days with real life. The list should get updated eventually.

Needs research. - Rare Breed / Rarebreed
Location: New Jersey, US
Genre: Hard Rock/Heavy Metal
https://www.discogs.com/release/6358714 ... Rare-Breed
- band members and 1987 vinyl release here: https://www.discogs.com/release/6358714 ... Rare-Breed
According to a Discogs review, more commercial-sounding than the California band by this name (on the site).
Myra was also in The Swingers (1984), and had a solo project in the late '70s:
https://www.discogs.com/release/3690456 ... ctor-Blues
https://www.discogs.com/artist/2807818-Myra-Ciardi
Maybe not too promising of an entry here, but curious to hear what they sounded like.

Needs research. - Aireborne
Location: Trenton, New Jersey, US
Listed genre: Heavy Metal
Discography: "Cold Eyes" / "Rock and Rollers" vinyl (1985)

Take The Throne: Their second EP is more borderline metalcore than the first (which is already borderline), but might make the cut. Will submit.
https://music.apple.com/us/artist/take- ... /669493736

Terrorfist: EP available for download on soundcloud. Death/Thrash Metal. Will submit.
https://soundcloud.com/brian-weston-5

Testifier: Oh, boy. Firstly, I'm not convinced this overwhelmingly metal. It's a combination of southern metal, metalcore, hardcore. Second, they have plenty of singles on bandcamp, but some share artwork and some don't. I'm not saying this isn't metal for sure, but someone else should probably take a look at it. Not sure if these singles are VR.
https://testifier.bandcamp.com/music

That Boy Aint Right: Another case where one EP is way more metal than the other. Neato Melodic Technical Metalcore. Will submit.
https://thatboyaintright1.bandcamp.com/ ... aint-right

The 49th Parallel: Unacceptable chuggy djent/metalcore. Not bad, not metal.
https://music.apple.com/us/artist/the-4 ... /904392115

The After Chapter: Metal sometimes, chuggy djent most others. No VR as far as I can tell.
https://www.youtube.com/@TheAfterChapter/videos

The Divine Rights of Kings: Southern Hardcore, not metal.
https://thedivinerightofkings.bandcamp. ... regression

The Empirical Method: Listed as just djent, but has more riffs than expected. Still not super convinced.
https://theempiricalmethod.bandcamp.com/album/theories

The Equinox: Listed as just "metal". Had an EP entitled 'Metamorphosis', but it's been pruned. Can't find much else, but best to keep it on the list.
https://www.facebook.com/theequinox780

The Fallacy: More core than metal.
https://thefallacy.bandcamp.com/album/2013-ep

Needs research. - White Knight
Location: Knox, Pennsylvania / California (?)
https://www.discogs.com/artist/4180266-White-Knight-3
(both are allegedly from the same band. Haven't verified it for certain. One 7" recorded in Knox, Pennsylvania per label, and another source says they were from Knoxville, Pennsylvania. Business card with members listed (Dave - guitars, Rick - bass, Gil - vocals, Glen - drums) has a California phone number, and "Are You Ready to Rock" 7", also from 1985 was recorded in California. Not to be confused with the Michigan band by this name that are also on the research list.

The Legion of Liquor: This is great. Mix of power metal and hard rock. Will submit.
https://thelegionofliquor.bandcamp.com/ ... -of-liquor

The New Arcadia: More neat music. Unfortunately, they teased an album, put out some singles and... no album as far as I can find. Will send facebook a message but it probably won't turn up much.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1mI2Jswdh4&t=144s

The Thirteenth Floor: Unacceptable deathcore.
https://thrtnth.bandcamp.com/album/the-departed

The Tide Will Take Us: Borderline prog deathcore. Definitely metal at times, and chugs at times. Need to sit on this one.
https://thetidewilltakeus.bandcamp.com/ ... t-e-p-2015

The Walls of this Chamber: Only ever put out one single, which sounds metal. Apparently it's from an EP, but I see no mention of it on facebook.
https://thewallsofthischamber.bandcamp. ... -crossfire

The Wedding Party: Not so much prog metal, as it is djenty metalcore. more core than metal.
https://theweddingparty.bandcamp.com/album/brothers

Those Kids Could Be Killers: Sounds like acceptable deathcore, but the only tracks are on reverbnation, with most available for download. Dead facebook and dead youtube.
https://www.reverbnation.com/thosekidscouldbekillers

Thrashadactyl: Looks like the tracks were once on applemusic, but since delisted. Thrash is also a bit misleading, much more rocky and core than expected, but could probably be accepted.
https://www.reverbnation.com/thrashadactyl

TomaHawkPunch: Lots of this band's pages got scrubbed. Sounds metal but no VR in sight.
http://tomahawkpunch.weebly.com/

Transcend the Skies: Ambient/Hardcore.
https://transcendtheskies.bandcamp.com/album/paradigm

I know the queue is full up rn, so I'm gonna wait a bit to submit the bands I mentioned earlier. For the one's i didn't explicitly say I would submit, but could pass, go ahead.

Needs research. - Knight Warrior

(edit, Spooky): Were from Memphis, Tennessee according to this - https://www.w2ww.popsike.com/KNIGHT-WAR ... 10499.html - "BACK IN THE DAY, PLAYED THE CLUB CIRCUIT WITH IMAGE ( https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Image/10553 ), ARCHITECT ( https://rateyourmusic.com/artist/architect-1 ), HARD KNOX ( https://www.discogs.com/artist/1628530-Hard-Knox-2 ).... EXCELLENT PRIVATE METAL FROM 84. ONLY 300 COPIES PRESSED." Maybe people from those bands, or from local '80s Memphis-area rock/metal club Facebook group pages remember them and could tell you some of Knight Warrior's members, best way to go about this one that I can think of.

Needs research. - Zuungar
Location: Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region / Buxel Mongolia Autonomous County (early), Hohhot, Inner Mongolia (later), China
Genre: Folk Heavy Metal

My brother found their latest CD - but he told me there was also the 2020 cd in a music shop in Hohhot. There is no trace of a physical copy of them anywhere on the net. Anyway, their songs can be found in chinese payment download sites only such as Music 163, QQ Music, Weibo and Taobao Music.
As these websited are for chinese registered account only - you need a Wechat account to login and download them for payment - are they a valid source to submit them?

A few songs can be found here, as well as their latest full album:

Samples needed.

I think that Seraph is probably a duplicate of this Seraph that features John Cooper from Skillet on vocals. There is some song title overlap between the album you posted and this one. Also, the name Seraph is written in the same font on the spine of the cassette you posted and the lower left corner of this one.

Alright, regarding Thrashadactyl, it looks like their music was once on Apple Music but delisted. This can be verified by glancing at their facebook and youtube pages. They also released a CD entitled 'Fiery Wrath', from which some tracks can be found on YouTube and their soundcloud. Not sure if this is enough for submission, but putting it here regardless.

Yeah, all those tracks on reverbnation are from the CD. This is verified by the delisted spotify album. Good enough to submit, which I can do later.

Slaves on Dope - Alternative/Nu-Metal. Believe they can be removed.
Spoiler: show

L'Aasguard - Blackened Viking Metal?
They seem to have released a demo CD on August 3rd, 2013. But I can't find any VR proof (I've sent a Facebook message to the band, if I don't hear anything. I found the ex-drummer and will send him a message).
https://www.reverbnation.com/laasguard

Conrad Simon Band & The Conrad Simon Band are both listed while its the same band. "Conrad Simon Band" should be removed.

Assuming these are in fact the same band, then:

Needs research. - Intrinsic
Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico, US (not to be confused with a much more well-known band from California with this name)
Genre: Thrash Metal
Members: A. Manzanares, J. Manzanares ( https://www.facebook.com/josh.man.3705 ?), A. Anaya. - A. Anaya might be related to https://www.metal-archives.com/artists/Joey_Anaya/37496 . Ultimatum were on the same local compilation, and it's not all that common of a last name in the US.

- heard the song yesterday in my friend's car, and it's metal. The song "Overdose" on the compilation listed on Discogs is from a full-length album titled "Valley of Fire" according to their info page. Would have been released around 1995, format unknown.

Etat d'Ame - progressive rock: https://www.youtube.com/@hellkammer/sea ... %20d%27ame

Isaiah is probably also fine to remove - "aimed for a glam/hard rock style" assessed by someone who describes some things as metal that we consider to be rock seems to make the search for their couple of songs not a worthwhile use of time.

Has anyone checked out the Foreign Legion downloads a few posts above?

Chain (Michigan) can be read about at the links below - maybe a determination can be made on if they're worth keeping around? (Only the first 2 links are in English. Without reading it all, looks like more of a rock band.) -

Some points out of these links:
- Influenced by Kiss, AC/DC, Aerosmith and Saxon, one song described as "ZZ Top meets Aerosmith, but heavier". (https://imgur.com/a/47K6WH9)(https://imgur.com/a/PvT3pQa)
- Guitar sound influenced by old ZZ Top (https://imgur.com/a/AReQ9Vc)
- Influenced by ZZ Top, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, AC/DC, The Who, Kiss, Ted Nugent and others in same vein (https://imgur.com/a/V4pBtCe)
- The musicians grew up with groups like AC/DC, Kiss or Aerosmith which are the three main influence they cite. As I said above, it's pure (and hard) hard rock. (https://imgur.com/a/z054Qa7)

Based on these they seem to be hard rock, so they can be removed.

Acceptable proof of VR?

Is that site trustworthy? Some more details about the tape would be nice.

I've generally found them reasonable, but not infallible. There's the odd mistake. I did notice later though the submitter posted a full set of photos, not just the cover:

https://vk.gy/images/92393-photo.jpg
https://vk.gy/images/116222-j-c.png
https://vk.gy/images/92394-photo.jpg
https://vk.gy/images/116223-insert-scan.png

So the release seems real enough. Only problem is the three songs listed on the insert aren't the same ones as the two on YouTube (off the later compilation), so can't confirm the content is metal. Cover and title (something like 'Cult Worship') seem promising though.

Until the Lights Go: Full band name is 'Until the Lights Go Out'. Very borderline Metalcore/Alt Rock. Probably unacceptable. I kinda dig it though. If someone wants to chime in with a second opinion, I'd appreciate it.
https://music.apple.com/us/album/it-sta ... 1112688074

Versus The Nothing: Hard Rock.
https://versusthenothing.bandcamp.com/a ... -come-down

Vicious: Already on MA
https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Vicious/3540375178

Volatile: Metal, but only one single streaming on reverbnation.
https://www.reverbnation.com/volatilemetal

Walking with Giants: Dead facebook. Despite the seemingly unique band name, this is confusing since there's a southern hardcore/nu-metal american band with the same name. Regardless, metalcore/alt rock. Two singles on soundcloud for download. Probably not enough to submit even if they were overwhelmingly metal.
https://soundcloud.com/walking-with-giants-666

War And Hate: Can't get into the facebook link without logging in and I'm on my other computer without my login info. Some tracks on reverbnation that sound metal, but streaming only.
https://www.reverbnation.com/warandhate

Warspite: Band calls themselves hardcore. Dead Soundcloud. You can find their music on this comp.
https://hardcorestilllives.bandcamp.com ... ives-vol-2

We the Martyr: Sounds like it could be passable metalcore, but no VR. Some streaming only tracks on reverbnation. Active from 2010 to 2012. Was going to record an album but broke up before that could come to fruition.
https://www.reverbnation.com/WeTheMartyr/songs

Weston: Chuggy metalcore.
https://weston.bandcamp.com/album/misfortunes

What the Devil?: sounds like groovy death/thrash metal. Will submit.
https://whatthedevil.bandcamp.com/album/ep

World Class White Thrash: Groovy Death/Thrash. Will submit.
https://worldclasswhitetrash.bandcamp.c ... low-motion

And that's it for the Ondes Chocs list! I know I covered every band from this list, but keep in mind not every band was conclusive. Some had no indications of VR, some had dead links, some I thought weren't metal enough to bother looking deeper. If someone wants to do a deeper look at the remaining bands, please go ahead. But like i said, I think a majority of those left are just bands with no VR.

Some quick updates on bands still on the research list.

Bird Death: Technical grindcore that doesn't sound metal.
https://birddeath.bandcamp.com/album/demo

From Another Time: Got added, can be removed.
https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Fr ... 3540531566

Infected Remains: More tracks on bandcamp, but all have the same art.
https://infectedremains.bandcamp.com/tr ... ge-beating

Providence NS: Borderline groovy prog metalcore. Might submit.
https://providencens.bandcamp.com/album/sequential

Signifier: Maybe just an oversight that this is still on the list, but there's a bandcamp and it doesn't sound metal.
https://signifiermusic.bandcamp.com/album/rebirth

Regarding World Class White Thrash: it’s a misspelling of world class white trash, which is already on MA.
