As for Zen, could be.... I had a precise biography and a list of all their live appearances, but it could be them. I can't find that file anymore, maybe is in my travel pc

As for Zenyatta... no idea... in the few sources I have (somewhere) it seems there is a vhs filmed at "Rockin Night Live" at Top Discoteque, Quatre Bornes 1993 together with Paranoid and Zenith, two other early mauritian hard rock/metal bands, so it could be a different band with the same name. No idea but this name recurred several times in local forums talking about early rock/metal bands from the island and the fact they have been caught on VHS with 2 other metal bands make me think there could be two different Zenyatta.

Edit: I found a topic, it's in mauritian french slang but those who can speak french can read it quite easily, I guess:

Miro, I have to ask, what's your criteria for listing discogs pages, and/or your process? Are you only linking pages with albums on them? Because several of the Brazilian bands have pages and you made no mention of them. I can only imagine because of the single compilation appearances for most of them.

https://www.discogs.com/artist/6064670-Monstro-Lake
https://www.discogs.com/artist/9170128-Mort%C3%A1gora
https://www.discogs.com/artist/7113939-Metal-Soldier
https://www.discogs.com/artist/5815349-Marcelo-Rocker

For the record, I appreciate you taking on this huge task.

Yeah, by now I've linked only those with an album since there's (in most cases) VR ready. I put all those bands through but they didn't have another release along with the compilation appearance. In some cases that single appearance might be helpful for further research, so thanks for telling me about this.

Flash: I think this may be the same band, but there are two major inconsistencies. First, this band is called 'The Flash', and second, the location on metalmuzeum is different from the wiki listing. They're both hungarian, but different cities.

Uh, someone submitted Bonded By Strength to the queue. I think this might be a band member doing this, as the account is brand new and from the same place as the band. No release in the submission I can see so I imagine it will be rejected.

It was originally listed on EM, then later removed as it was only a digital single. But I found a Japanese review of a CD version of the same demo (not on Discogs), so it did have a physical release as well.

So is that enough to submit in this case?

Shoutin' (Ita) can be removed. Rock/AOR.
https://heavymetalrarities.com/forum/vi ... 60#p184760

Scoundrel (California, US) can also be removed. The Discogs link above turned out to be a San Diego band whose members came from butt rock band France:
https://heavyharmonies.com/cgi-bin/glam ... %20on%20Me
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IfUXabkZUno
Also classified as hard rock by Discogs contributor VXN, who tends to list some things that are hard rock as heavy metal. One of Scoundrel's only 2 documented gigs that were brought into research is with some bands on the rock/glammy side. This can be blacklisted.

Insanity Defense (US) is punk/hardcore, as was listed on Discogs - can be removed.

This German review of the compilation states that its a 1979 number from Beast's (https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Beast/2481) predecessor band:

https://powermetal.de/review/review-Var ... 39365.html

Song title matches up with the vinyl release from this 'Sky':

https://www.discogs.com/artist/5464063-SKY-65

So it looks like Discogs has duplicates?

Yeah, that compilation is all German bands. The note (added several years before that compilation existed) that they're from Japan was about this band:
https://www.discogs.com/release/6906625 ... st-Arrived
- whoever entered that comp in on Discogs did this band wrong.

Setiva (3) on Discogs is the same band as Setiva (2) on Discogs - so there are a couple more releases (that don't look very promising) to take into consideration.
https://www.discogs.com/artist/11443940-Setiva-2
They can be removed. This isn't worth pursuing.

The first Redshift discogs page is a NYC band according to the release (and alt rock). The second doesn't have a local besides US and is definitely not metal.

The Blamed (California) and The Blame (same entry on the list - nice catch that there is another California band called that also, which doesn't look promising for the site, either) can be removed. More punk side of crossover on their "most metal" release: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RwvsF9df2l8

S.A.D. (Super Aggressive Dick) is actually more thrashcore in the vein of D.R.I., at least the tape I heard in Istanbul years ago. I never trust Discogs, most of the music generes are radomly applied. You can even find metal bands in some techno or disco house bands' discography.

Anyway, also a review here confirms it:

I think that's the same Unsworn on the Rock Soldiers comp. They share a track title and the discogs listing says it's an international production.

Based on this they're located in southern Colorado. And what comes to similar track titles, I'd guess it was the reason they were added to the same Discogs page in the first place.

I see he also played in UCK Grind whose singer Tanju I know: I may ask him if he can get me in touch with the drummer and see if he can send me a copy of the demo

Needs research. - Colostomy
Location: US (Florida?)
Listed genre: Death Metal
Band member: https://www.metal-archives.com/artists/ ... old/466535
Demo tape (year unknown): https://www.discogs.com/release/8119092 ... -Colostomy
Though not likely, it's not yet ruled out that it's a different band called Colostomy than the one from San Jose, California with https://www.metal-archives.com/artists/ ... doze/27817 and https://www.facebook.com/byron.groves.50 , active in the early-to-mid '90s, who are also on the research list.

Discogs: https://www.discogs.com/artist/6823444-Spriggans (videos don't have any of these songs, otherwise this would be ready to submit. Just need confirmation of a release that contains the songs in the YouTube videos, which might be done by contacting Nico.
Like all other bands that I post in this thread, feel free to finish the research and submit them if able to do so.)

I sent Nico a message on Facebook asking about music samples and pictures of the Rehearsal Tape and the Best-of CD.

Thanks for messaging Nico about that. There are so many bands in here that could probably be added by contacting members. Often times I've even left their Facebook links here, but didn't have time to send a message at the moment that they were being dropped in, and then they got lost in the shuffle (any time a message is sent I leave a note about it in the post, though). It's awesome having multiple people more active in here lately, facing the task head on to see what's going on with the bands on the list and what holds them back from being added.

- Акцент (from Moscow, not to be confused with another Акцент also from Moscow but active in the late 80's and the band from Kazakhstan), you can listen to the full album here:

There were at least a few more Accents:

Accent from Vologda, heavy/speed, recorded a demo in 1988 (VK says somewhere 1986, somewhere 1991, but I saw the exact date from one of the members). They broke up shortly after recording due to the death of their drummer.

ACCENT (Zhovti Vody, Dnepropetrovsk region) - 1987 "Barrier" record (possibly, not metal at all)

another Accent of the 80s, from Odessa, but they played blues rock

unknown Accent from the USSR, recorded hard rock / proto-doom inst. demo in 1987

the well-known Accent from Minsk

notes from Facebook:

"The project Goat Throne " Born in 1992 " from the twisted mind of " Exume " in March 1993 the first work is released ; a Rehearsal tape titled " The Church of Hate " of which the genre released was : Pure Fucking Evil Black Metal Noise music for true lovers of the genre evil , black metal noise . In February 1994 Goat throne returned with the second work of which the tape entitled " Demo ' 94 " was released . In 1995 black metal began to be no longer a way of life as it was lived in the early 90's began to arrive already many other bands with products much more excellent than Goat throne and for various reasons early 1995 I disbanded the project . This is the short history of Goat throne .
